I ordered all the parts required to build a PC online from Microcenter's store in Westbury NY. I chose to pay for the $ 249 same day build option. Please note that on multiple locationsof their website there are at least 5 references to this as well as on their facebook page it says buy your PC at least 4 hours prior to closing and you can have it the same business day. It seems that they have been claiming this for years since I found rerferences to this going back to 2020 on the internet. Now it does say that some complex build may take 2 to 3 days my build was not since they list what may be considered complex and I has none of those things. I submitted my order 5 hours before closing on a Friday july 14 2023, received email saying my PC build was confirmed. I never heard from them again. On saturday at noon 20 hours later I called them and they said no status and they would have a manager call me that did not happen. I called again at 3:30, 23 hours later and they said it would be ready at 5 becuase they could not get to it. 26 ours later, I chatted with them on line and the agent said that they will tell you if it can't be completed same day. This is false advertising and should either be removed from the web site or the language amend to say same day build depending on number of builds for the day or something like that. or at least call the customer and tell them that it can be delivered same day. I only chose them because of this feature. I was duped. I clipped all the location where the site says same day. I am sure that somewhere there is small print to cover them but the advertising is clearly designed to lure the person in and convince them with a clear expectation that it can be done in one day and when you attach a fee to this then in my opinion its Fraud. If there are stipulations then they need to make them clearly available and visible to the consumer so that the consumer can be made aware before going through the purchasing process.Micro Center Computers & Electronics

I bought an open box laptop from this company. I was careful to confirm that the 90 day warranty would be upheld, as there were scratches around the power port from the person who originally purchased the item. The power port failed six weeks after purchase, and the company promised to fix or replace it. I went in, waited in line for over an hour, then was told that they would not be honoring the warranty. I left a review describing this issue, and was contacted and promised a full refund. Then it turned into a gift card. Then it turned into a decision NOT to honor their promise to refund, or even provide a gift card- they went back to just not honoring the warranty at all. Avoid at all costs. This company wasted WEEKS of my time, and failed to honor any of their guarantees. They are not trying to keep customers, they are churning. Buy elsewhere. There's a reason why they have less than 2 stars on all the review sites! Avoid at all costs.Micro Center Computers & Electronics

Microcenter practices deceptive email marketing practices. I received an email this morning at 10:02 AM with a subject line advising of a three day sale, a 1 TB SSD for $29.99. At 10:05 AM I loaded the email and navigated to the 1 TB SSD listing for the Dallas store. Upon attempting to purchase, I was informed the item was out of stock despite sales limiting to 1 item per customer. In three minutes from the sale beginning and the email being sent out, the item is already out of stock? I doubt this. Microcenter is practicing false advertising to lure customers into their greater sales ad and entice them to spend additional money. The email should have called out just how limited the stock was if Microcenter was not prepared to honor this specific deal.Micro Center Computers & Electronics

So I finally saw first hand what happens at a 1 star Computer Store on BBB. So my story with their store is that I got a Macbook repaired with them and the repair itself is a whole another story. I ended up dropping 400 dollars on a screen repair I could've asked Apple screen repair to do for cheaper I find out later. 2 months later the same issue happens, the screen is not working and of course I take it back to them but they said their work only is covered for 30 days and blamed Apple for their faulty parts and told me to take me to take it to Apple because its their fault. So I take it to Apple and they said it is something to do with the display most likely and to my surprise they were offering to replace for much cheaper than what the Microcenter initially offered. Now I am waiting on how they are going to respond after I took my laptop back and told them its your fault according to Apple. But most likely the answer will be either Apples Fault or Customers Fault because we are never wrong. And trust me there were so many lies and inconsistencies in the answers they provided to me. You think the Apple Store was bad, man the Micro Center is a whole another story that should be covered by press soonMicro Center Computers & Electronics

Hello, We appreciate you sharing your feedback and after checking with the service manager found the unit wasn’t covered by rework, materials-wise, by Apple. The store was trying to work with Apple so he wouldn’t have to pay for another screen at full price. The store tried to escalate it to see if Apple could make an exception since it was only two days after the 30-day rework window; however, they declined the request. We are glad that Apple decided to work directly with you to take care of the repair as a customer service issue. Thank you.Sam A.

Just for the record, I did not even get anything close to a refund or store credit for the repair I paid for already and even the Apple Store said that Micro Center should cover it. I was also told to contact Apple Support as well so that it goes in their system and goes into consideration when they renew their contract as a Apple Authorized Service Provider 1 (800) 275-2273Review fromLuke V

I have purchased multiple components for my custom PC build here, and their knowledgeable staff helped me pick out the right components. They are the first place I look for computer hardware, and their pricing is competitive. Do be warned: the reps do try to upsell you, and they do make commission. When you go there, they will try to tag your item, so just be warned you will be upsold. Usually it is worth it, because they don't upsell you on pointless upgrades (for example a power supply that would be no less stable, just more overkill), but when I went there to build my PC, I was upsold by over $100 on my monitor. Don't let that blemish their brand, because Micro Center still is a very good location to shop at. Every person I talked to at the Westmont store helped me either solve the problem I had or to direct me to a person who is more knowledgeable in the subject in question.Micro Center Computers & Electronics

I bought the refurbished macbook pro( 2019 version ) in october 2020 saying its apple certified refurbished and i paid extra warranty from micro center for additional 3 years for safety. on 3/26 i reported the issue to micro center and took into for repair and was told i will get an update by 3/28. I got an update on 3/30 after i followed up saying they are doing diagnostics in the morning and by evening they said logic board failed and need to send to apple for further analysis. This morning i received a message saying there is a very minute liquid spill which wont be covered by micro center. My problem here is until sunday afternoon i was working on the system without issue and when it went blank i directly took to micro center , there is no way a liquid might have felled into it as i was working on it all that day. Secondly the water/liquid could have fell from micro center where it was sitting for 4 days before sending to apple . If i know it is a liquid damage why would i take to the shop knowing they wont cover it ? This is so bad that i am 100% certain that a liquid was spilled while it was sitting in micro center and now i need to pay 1645$ for the repair which is totally absurd. I request some one to pls look into the issue.Micro Center Computers & Electronics

Hello, We appreciate the feedback. We were able to look into your concern and understand that you have spoken with the service manager who explained how we process all repairs in service and also reassuring you nothing was spilled on the unit while in our shop. He also explained why the repair would not be covered under your protection plan and why we would not be able to cover the expense using the plan you purchased. The Service Manager suggested reaching out to Apple to see if they could help offset the cost. Thank you for reaching out to us regarding this experience.Review fromWilliam M

I bought a router from Microcenter on 2/20/23. I went to the store to return the unopened router on 2/22/23. Microcenter said there was a note in the system stating I couldn't do any returns at Microcenter (all because they fought me on a $6 defective store brand cable return a couple years ago). When I stated they have to abide by the company's 30 day return policy, they said they don't have to. The store ended up taking it back in the end, but the FTC's Holder Rule actually says they do have to abide by their return policy. Had I just filed a chargeback request with my credit card company, the credit card company would have just stopped payment to Microcenter under the Holder Rule.Micro Center Computers & Electronics

Nice store Duluth, GA....TERRIBLE MAMAGEMENT AND POLICIES! The worst buying experience I have had in my life! On Feb. 2nd, I purchased a refurished 50" Roku TV for $229.00 At checkout, I was convinced to purchase an additional repair contract at a cost of $59.99 for a 3 year repair period that included "cracked screen protection". 3 days later after aquiring a wall mount and installing TV and turning it on, I discovered the screen was cracked, and the TV would power on, but no picture would show. I took the unit back to Micro Center for repair or replacement, with the necessary documentation, and after waiting for remedy for about an hour, and being told that the repair contract had not been uploaded to the"system", the Store Manager informed me that they were not going to repair the TV, and would issue a "store credit" for the $229.00, but they would not issue a refund of the sales tax, nor any refund or pro rate for the 3 year repair warranty. So after less than a week of owing a worthless television set, I no longer HAVE a television, I'm out $59.99 for a non existent repair contract, $17.34 sales tax, for a television I don't have, AND a $229.00 store credit that I must spend at the very place where this, (for lack of a better term) "RIP OFF", occured! Color me DISGUSTED AND ANGRY!!! I considered taking this to small claims court, but the expense outweighs the probable remedy. I WILL HOWEVER POST THIS REVIEW EVERY AND ANYWHERE THAT I CAN! BUYER BEWARE!Micro Center Computers & Electronics

Do not buy a computer from this company. They are either criminals or incompetent. I bought a $2000 laptop from them in August. It ceased to work in November. I took it to be repaired and was told 2-3 weeks. After 5 weeks I was told that they needed me to drop off the charger, which I did (why didn’t they ask for that originally?) After a few weeks of me calling the customer service number and getting placed in hold numerous times for 10-15 minutes each time and never speaking to anyone, I was able to get a hold of someone by texting that same number. They told me after 2 months that they needed to replace the motherboard and it would be “5-6 days”. After another 10 days, I called, was put on hold for 12 minutes, called again, was put on hold for 18 minutes, called again and finally spoke to Chris. Chris told me that he needed to talk to *****, the manager about my repair and they will call me back. I am still waiting for that call. I am running out of patience. At this point, I have been without my laptop for over ten weeks, have been out on hold numerous times without speaking with anyone, have been promised my repair would be completed numerous times and I am still without my laptop. I have been totally gaslit by this company and I just don’t know what else to do. There is either dishonesty or incompetence here; either way, I got a raw deal. My advice: do not buy from this company and if you do, don’t trust what they tell you.Micro Center Computers & Electronics
