      I wish I would have read these reviews before taking my laptop to the Brentwood MO location for a SIMPLE screen replacement. On 9/15, I was told the cost would be $200, I needed to pay $100 for the part to be ordered paid $100 on 9/15 but kept my laptop and asked to be called when the part came in so I could return with the laptop to complete repairs. I called on 9/30 to ask when the part would be arriving. I later found out through the work notes that the part was NEVER ordered on 9/15. Fast forward, I dropped my laptop off on 10/6 to get the screen replacement, was told it would take 1-2 days on Monday I texted the tech to ask about the status of the repairs, on Tuesday I received a reply text message stating upon installing the replacement screen the tech noticed the connector slightly different preventing the new screen from functioning, on Thursday, I received a text stating the LCD back cover has physical damage that may prevent the screen from being completely flush declined new cover bc I needed my laptop back for work. On Friday, I rcvd text message stating the tech performed the screen installed but when he turned it on it was extremely dim and I needed a new costly motherboard. I advised I am coming to get my laptop bc at this point I didn't trust Micro Center. I arrived asked to have my laptop turned on and the old screen that was WORKING but was just CRACKED when I left my laptop with Micro Center is now BLACK and a function key is lite when it wasn't when I dropped my functioning cracked screen laptop off to Micro Center for a screen replacement. I WISH I had read the reviews before visiting the store for repairs.

      Possibly the worst service support I have ever seen. DO NOT USE THEM. I dropped my PC two weeks ago with an ETA of a week originally. That’s fine, I get it you’re busy. I never received a phone call, text, email, so I gave them some more time, called back Tuesday and they said it hadn’t even been looked at but it would be looked at tomorrow. That’s fine also. No call, no text, no email. It’s Friday now and I called in again and they said they would call me back and let me know what’s up. Nothing. I called again a couple hours later and no one picked up Keep in mind, each time I called there’s been a different story about why my “technician” isn’t answering.

      THE PEOPLE IN THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT ARE CROOKS! Last week I dropped off my PC for repair I had extended protection, and the person who checked me in told asked if I needed a backup on my files. I did not had a backup and said yes and asked why I needed it, he told me that during diagnostics the hard drive might fail and that the backup cost $150. A couple days later, the technician called me and told me that the diagnostics was done but the PC needs a new hard drive and that the data transfer will cost me $100 I was skeptical that the diagnostics passed but I needed new drive since the PC is 1 year old but said do it but transfer it to a new PC. I use the PC for work and called on Saturday for an update. I was lucky that the technician was off and someone else checked the PC and told me everything seemed ok. So I got it back, At home I ran a disk checkup, and the SSD is okay. You can buy parts/PCs at a good price there but REPAIR YOUR PC SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!

      I'm not sure I can adequately describe the horror that is Micro Center. Long and short of it, $180.00 and two weeks later, I no longer own a working laptop. I only wanted my cooling fan replaced. You can believe every single horror story you read here. I honestly don't know how they stay in business.

      I've been buying from Micro Center for a long time, for about a decade now. The entire time that I've been purchasing computer parts and building brand new computers, not just for myself but also my family and friends, I've been told by the sales staff that if I buy the 2 year replacement plan for their graphics cards, I can return them with no questions asked and get store credit back. Back in 2021 I was in the middle of building a new computer for myself to keep up with modern gaming. But unfortunately at the time, due to the microchip shortage and China buying up GPU's for crypto mining, graphics card where constantly out of stock and over priced. I normally would of waited until the card prices dropped in price before buying one. But when I was up there, I was assured by the sales staff yet again that if I was buy the card now, I could return the GPU before the 2 year warranty was up and get full store credit. So with that in mind I decided to pay the outrageous price for the card, justifying the purchase as an investment for future purchases. Once again, the only reason I purchased the card that day was because of the promise the sales staff made me that I could return it for store credit in the future. Fast forward to now and I'm being told that they changed their policy and that there is nothing they can do for me. I talked to multiple managers about it and they know that their sales staff make these promises, even though they have no intent on upholding it. More or less its the new policy and that's it. Now I'm out anywhere from $800 to $1,000 because of a false promise made by their predatory sales practices. Unfortunately, because of this experience, I'll no longer be supporting Micro Center and will be taking my business elsewhere.

      I purchased a laptop a little over a year ago and had a great experience at first. For about a year, the laptop worked great and there were no issues. Then a hinge on the laptop broke. Everything worked fine on the laptop, but the screen just wouldn't stay up since the one hinge broke. I took it into microcenter for repair since it was under warranty. I still had to pay $40 for a diagnostic test. I was told it would take 3-4 days for the part to come in and then one day to fix it. I got my laptop back nearly a month later, completely nonfunctional. The mouse and keyboard did not respond at all and the laptop was unusable. I returned to Microcenter and the associate that accepted the laptop told me he was hopeful it would be a very quick fix, that *** had just disconnected something inside that just needed to be reconnected. I heard nothing for a week and a half before contacting Microcenter's main office, who had to reach out to the store directly for me to finally get an update. Microcenter has no phone line to call and instead only has a text line, which employees were not answering for days prior to Microcenter's corporate office reaching out to the store to tell them to give me an update. The lack of a phone line for customers to me is a clear signal that customer service is not a priority for Microcenter, and my experience supports that too. I finally received my laptop back last week. Before leaving, I checked to make sure the laptop worked, which seemed to be very annoying to the employee I picked the laptop up from. Everything appeared to be working when I took a quick look in the store, but today I tried to join a virtual meeting only to find my camera no longer works. In fact, my laptop isn't even picking up that I have a built in camera anymore. I will not return to Microcenter for any needs in the future, and I can't recommend enough that others STAY AWAY as well!

      I bought a laptop from here and bought their protection plan that was supposed to cover everything. The laptop is a lemon. The internet is full of posts of people having the same problem with the same problem and having to get refunds. They refused to stand behind their product, and refused to honor their "covers everything" plan and wouldn't even offer store credit for a return.

      Microcenter located in Westbury started as a great experience with the rep at the pc build section. He was awesome and recommended a great. BUT the actual build part was atrocious. I was told ‘Don’t worry I’ll take care of it’. The build was ready the next day. The PC obviously wasn’t tested before giving it to me. The Power Supply didn’t work. When I opened up the tempered glass cover I noticed the wires weren’t even connected properly to the mother board. The Thermal Intake was loose and fell off at one point. It was possibly the absolute worst build ever and not worth the money. I could have done it myself. Only reason its not a 1 star is because the sales rep was great. But the technician who built it was HORRENDOUS. The quality of work was embarrassing. I took the PC to their Flushing location and even the tech there was surprised at how horrible it was. I complained and still NO phone call from any manager in regards to this after I complained.
