Shift 4 / Future POS -Employees are either knowledgeable, helpful, and kind or they have zero clue how to fix issues and are very rude and disrespectful. Call time can be up to 1.5 hours , it is frustrating when 3/4 of the employees are rude and have no idea what they are doing .Shift4

Beware of ******************* c/o Shift4 Payments **** and Their Deceptive Auto-Renewal Practices!******************* c/o Shift4 Payments **** uses misleading auto-renewal tactics to trap businesses into long-term contracts. I originally signed a contract in 2017, and in 2024, they renewed it without providing any prior notification. When I inquired about the renewal, a representative initially confirmed it was a 12-month renewalbut later, they changed their stance and claimed it was a 36-month renewal instead!Not only was I never informed of my renewal deadline, but they also attempted to charge me a $3,647.38 cancellation fee, which they later reduced to $2,735.54still an unjust charge for a renewal I was never properly notified about. Their lack of transparency and refusal to resolve this issue fairly shows a pattern of deceptive contract practices.If youre considering using ******************* c/o Shift4 Payments ****, carefully review every contract detail, demand written renewal notices, and be prepared for unexpected fees. I strongly advise small business owners to steer clear of Shift4. They are nothing short of scammers who take advantage of small businesses with predatory contracts. After they acquired my previous processor, ***, I was forced into their service without consent or a choice to opt out. Despite never even using their services, I was slapped with a $1,000 cancellation fee when I tried to terminate the agreement.Their contracts are designed to be nearly unbreakable, trapping small businesses in unfair terms. Shift4 clearly prioritizes profits over their customers, showing no regard for the struggles of small business owners. This company embodies everything thats wrong with the payment processing industrydeceptive practices, hidden fees, and a complete lack of accountability.If you value your business and your hard-earned money, avoid Shift4 at all costs. I have a restaurant with this company as we speak. We were a new business and have already lost close to $3,000 perhaps more. The customer service will not allow us to speak to any upper management its absolutely impossible to get anywhere and to anyone else to speak with with out an attorney stepping in. I am so disgusted and not happy with this company I can't believe it. This has NOT been resolved, real on-going issue right now as we speak and shift 4 does t want to do anything about it but is very ok taking money and misrepresenting new customers and leaving them unknowing what is even going on. The worst customer service i have ever seen making things even more frustrating.**** & ***** absolute nightmare to speak with egging on further frustration. We are beyond disappointed and totally turned right off and will be switching companies bc of all of the taken money that they don't want to talk about.Shift4

DO NOT USE. They hide the contract length and early termination fees on a website they reference in size 8 font on the agreement you sign - the call it Terms and Conditions - like anybody ever reads or accesses Terms and Conditions - but their Terms and Conditions are contract length and early termination fee. No where on the agreement you sign is any reference made to contract length or early cancelation fee - it's all hidden in a website they expect you to access - yet their agreement states you acknowledge you've received this information. The legal definition of received does not include your having to click on a website. Finally if you ask to escalate your issue they tell you they have no escalation process. Meaning that Amber S*** - who I dealt with has sole authority to decide your fate. Apparently there are no managers; no Vice Presidents; no President and no CEO at this company you can escalate an issue to. DO NOT USE. You've been warnedShift4

I took advantage of their referral program which offered a $2000.00 bonus for referring new businesses. I submitted a referral back in May that qualified me for that bonus. I sold my business in October and also urged the new owners to use Shift4 as well which they did. I didnt submit a referral for them. I followed up regularly, and was finally sent a W9 in November. I asked the *** when I would receive my bonus. She said payments are submitted on December 20th which I was excited about right before Christmas. I followed up December 17th and did not receive a response. I contacted customer service December 20th and was advised the *** ****** did not have a direct line. She would forward my info to ******. Next thing I know, I receive an email Im now disqualified. I read the terms again. I sent a text to my sales *** in which I was told me closing my account should not disqualify me because people that arent customers receive the refer bonus. I have been patient almost a full year and now Im told this a few days before Christmas. I have referred so many customers without submitting referrals because I belong to a lot of Coffee Business owner groups. Now I feel terrible because if this has happened to me. How many others are scammed by this referral program.Shift4

I have already taken every route available to me. Nothing seems to work! You want the referrals, but you don't want to follow through with paying for the referrals. I just want everyone who checks these reviews to know what type of an experience they will be faced with it they use your point-of-sale system and have any issues. Not a business owner, but a user of their system. Worst ever. Not for any business looking for speed. Updates ruin any fixes we made to our inventory. Havent been able to balance a drawer since we implicated it. (1 yr ago). Every employee hates that they cant increase the font size. It is minuscule & in a fast paced bar/restaurant, it slows even the fastest server down. I would not recommend this to my worst enemy. *** also reviewed this on their website but somehow it hasnt shown up..wonder why?Shift4

Shift4 uses hard sell tactics to convert merchant services. They shut down our credit card processing system in an effort to get us to convert to a new system when the software still had thirty days (according to ****) the Supervisor for the Echo system. Written communications with customer retention department would never provide an expiration date for existing software. Cheating a ************* by not providing a detailed written proposal further muddies the ethical business practices of this organization. ******Shift4

Without a doubt, one of the worst experiences I've ever had with a company. I completed an ownership change in April 2024, they double charged for months (charged for both accounts) even while reaching out to the *** assigned to my accounts. I've sent all their equipment back and now they are refusing to refund any of the money for double charging and stating that even though we did an ownership change that doesn't remove the prior account, i would have had to manually close it. So they kept both accounts open and charged for both of them. I understand why their overall rating is a 1.09. Its a complete scam and i wouldn't recommend anyone do business with them. Stay far, far away as they are a sham.Shift4
