I had a recent experience at Midas (3990 William Penn Rd., Monroeville, PA) and became highly disappointed with the service I received. I went for a routine check up on August 25, 2023 and I did not receive an answer as to what service my car needed for a very long time. I waited all day and was told the technician was not available who was working on my vehicle. I did not expect to learn my car was left unattended because he walked out due to a dispute with fellow workers. I came back the next day and there was a different manager there. He did not know why my car was not ready. Their lack of professionalism prevented me from going to work and cost me a day's wages. I even tried to reach upper management to express my concerns and never heard from anyone. I expected a lot more from Midas and will not be returning again.

To: Midas Corporate Customer Care Group. Reference: Recognition for demonstrating outstanding customer service and technical knowledge. Subject: I am taking my time in writing to convey my gratitude. I received excellent customer service with a knowledgeable staff I experienced this at your Midas store, located at 4616 Aicholtz Rd. Road, Cincinnati, Ohio, 45244. On July 27, 2023, I visited the store for an estimate and work on my vehicle. Encountering two of your employees, I'm compelled to acknowledge in writing how they set the example of a customer-service-focused and technically knowledgeable team. With that said, I request that Alex the store manager, and Kyle the automotive technician who worked on my 2009 Ford F150 be recognized for their exemplary work ethic and honesty. I specifically sought out that store due to their website's positive comments about the store manager's sincere focus on providing outstanding customer service and the level of proficiency of the results-oriented staff. Throughout my visit, they were courteous and helpful and went out of their way to ensure that I understood how they resolved a mechanical situation involving my automobile air-conditioning unit. Note, I went to three of your competitors where based on my intuition; their estimates and the scope of work were questionable. Please note due to the extremely high heat and humidity conditions this was a priority to fix. They provided a level of service that truly exceeded my expectations and made me feel valued as a customer. Please pass on my appreciation to them and everyone who works hard at Midas to provide outstanding customer service. Sincerely, ****** ** **** ************* ********  Seabees Ret.

I had been going down to Midas on station street for many years including decades. I really wanted to give this shop in Cleveland Ohio a 2 stars. The reason why I wanted to give them a 3 is because I didn't want to be harsh to them the only thing is they nearly destroyed my engine when they replaced the thermostat with a non dealership thermostat called a Moto Rad from United. Finally after a week and a 1/2 of a rental car and up to 2 weeks with a rental car. My backyard mechanic and the dealership said the vehicle was acting temperamental due to a non dealership thermostat why didn't they know this from the beginning ?? Then acted as if I didn't know what I was talking about when I have been in auto school. Also they were checking for air pockets and motor damage and didn't find a bad head gasket thankfully when I finally got the dealership thermostat I also had to drive down to Akron Ohio Nissan twice and drive back When Bedford Nissan did take a while to order the thermostat on a computer glitch and also a holiday around May of 2023. I spent a total of about $1,300 on a rental car gallons of antifreeze including relays and a camshaft position sensor including also the thermostat !!!!!! Originally they wanted me to pay for labor also another $240 to put one in. It was a very bad experience I went through and I nicely ask a shop for some refund of money on parts maybe 100 to $200 they told me that they have done me favors before and the manager basically did not want to reimburse me back at all. When I also found an access store for the cabin filter that was broke one thing they are is in a hurry they should set up appointments to stop this they used to not be like this before. My extended warranty did not cover anything because I had transferred over from a prior company. I have been going elsewhere recently and feel used and abused since I never received any reimbursement back for the headaches I went through.

Absolute garbage establishment and huge waste of time. I went earlier this week for an inspection and failed because of my tinted windows-- okay I understand that was my fault. What I didn't appreciate was the short mechanic (forgot his name, bad attitude, short dude with green eyes) tells me for $200 they'll remove the tint and I know that's a ridiculous amount of money and I say no. The manager helps me check out and I ask why they charge so much to remove tints and he said it's against their policy to remove tints or touch a car's tints and I mention how his mechanic said for $200 he'd remove it-- the manager said "he was just messing with you" absolutely not. He was not, and I definitely didn't appreciate the manager trying to gaslight me. DO NOT COME HERE IF YOURE A GIRL THEY WILL ATTEMPT TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF YOU. So I remove the front window tints like the manager from Midas suggests (he said my sedan would pass if I remove the 2 front window tints off and stated “if you go around the corner, rip them off and come back then I’d pass your car”). I decided to get the car inspected elsewhere because I didn't like the service I received last time (TERRIBLE MECHANIC SHOP). I go to another place and right off the bat the mechanic said the car would fail because there is tint all over the car and it's the state law, so I call Midas because the MANAGER had told me otherwise. Why is he a manager if he doesn't even know the basic requirements regarding vehicle inspections? Terrible management for him to be "unaware" of his own mechanics trying to scam customers with side services under his nose, during the same shift. This whole place is terrible and needs to be shut down.

I had a flat tire from a nail. I went to a Firestone dealer in Columbus and they told me that the hole wasn't fixable and wanted to charge me over $600 to put a new tire on! I came to this Midas location as I was driving back roads to get home from downtown because I had my spare on and one of the bolts for the tire broke when the person who helped me was taking the lug nuts off. Not only did Gabe tell me he could fix the hole, it was done in 10 minutes and he didn't charge me ANYTHING!!! I will be back here for tire and service from now on!!!

We had an excellent visit at Midas in lake Park Florida. Check in was courteous, knowledgeable I was early waited a few minutes but an appointment time My work order was written straight away. I walk around waited a few minutes went for a walk The car was taken while I was out of the office and within a very reasonable time The two work requests were completed within the following half hour. At home I checked the work. everything looked good and correct. I gave the working man who did the work a tip. He had a good demeanor I appreciated that followed by his and level of attention to to do the right job well. I kept their business card.

I've hesitated posting this review because I know poor reviews can hurt businesses that employ local people but this has been on my mind too long. Several of my vehicles have been serviced there over the years and I *had* been satisfied with the service. In April 2022, my Chrysler 200 died while my son was driving it to work. I met him, jump-started the car and we switched vehicles. Since my regular auto repair shop wasn’t open, I turned to Midas. In addition to taking care of the car (bad alternator was the culprit), the 200 was due for an oil change. After a couple of hours of waiting, my other son picked me to take me home and, when the 200 was done, took me back before closing. I paid, got the keys and went home. The next day, when my wife exchanged vehicles with my one son, she heard a knocking in the engine. It didn’t go away after a while when he was driving it, and I didn’t see anything hanging or anything exterior that could be making the noise. I had the 200 examined by my regular shop and, after talking with the manager, I was told the knock was because the car’s engine was run without any oil. I went back to Midas to have this shop examine the 200 on June 11. After nearly an hour of looking at it, a service rep called me back and said there were metal shavings in the oil but the sound was likely due to a “lifter issue” that I was told happens at times with the Chrysler V6 Pentastar engine. In talking with my regular shop's manager, he said he and his top mechanic say the sound is not a “tick” you’d hear from a lifter issue, but a knock, which is consistent with an engine being run without oil. It seems Midas tested or drove my 200 WITHOUT engine oil while changing the alternator. I’ve regularly had the 200 serviced, and can show you the receipts to prove it. I’m no master mechanic but I know there should not be metal shavings in fresh oil. I put my trust in Midas for the very last time.

I drove my vehicle to this location for a oil change. This location on North Dixie in Dayton, Ohio broke the reservoir causing oil to spew everywhere causing the vehicle to become undriveable. I had to tow my vehicle to my home. Midas wants to charge me over 6,000.00 to replace the whole engine instead of the replacement of reservoir.

Mr. ****** is leaving out the crucial fact that we noted on his invoice at another Midas back in August of 2022 that there was a "chunk missing out of block where filter housing screws in, we sealed the best we could..." He has the invoice that states this and at both visits, we reminded him of this pre-existing condition that we did not cause. Our recommended repair for this damage that was caused by someone prior to us ever working on the vehicle is to replace the engine and we're happy to do that at a fair price but we will not be responsible for something we very clearly did not cause.

What Midas is leaving out is if there was a issue with the car, why did this company even bother to repair. It’s obvious nothing was wrong with the vehicle when I DROVE it to this location for servicing. Why wasn’t I able to DRIVE my vehicle back home? Unsatisfactory service.

Midas Yorkville NY - customer service is terrible. Took a week to get car fixed. Did not replace parts that should have been replaced according to dealer. Left bolts loose causing $2600 in damages. Would not listen when reached out. District manager was extremely rude. Will not recommend this repair shop to anybody. So disappointed with this experience!!

RE: STORE #304 - 1870 S. Arlington Rd, Akron OH 44306 Where do I begin. On June 17, 2022, I took my car to this shop because it just shut off. Was told on June 18th that I needed the water pump replaced and it would take a week to repair. I called the shop a week later on June 24 and was told that the wrong part was ordered. Sadly from this point on any status that I received about my car was me calling the shop. On June 28th, my husband and I called and was told the correct part was received and the repairs would begin. On July 2, I called to be told that my car shut off again. This shop is not open on Sundays and July 4th was a Monday. On July 5th, we were told we would need a new engine. We has set aside the money for the water pump but now had to consider the cost of a new engine. I asked the Manager could they put the car back together so we could take the car somewhere else. We were willing to pay for the water pump services yet he told me they could repair the car. On July 7th, we called to find out the cost of the engine repair. We called on July 12 and was told the shop had received the new engine that's it. We had made plans to go out of town and now had to get a rental car. We called on July 14 and was only told the engine was good. 07/19 - Told our car would be ready. It was not. Called on 07/20 and was told the car would be ready. Went to shop on 07/22. Car was not ready but told it would be on 07/27. Called Midas Corp Office on 07/22 and given an incident report. At this point, we were going out of town again. Called 07/25 and told car would be ready on 27. 07/29, now out of town, we called & was told the engine was now dropped in the car. Also did not receive any calls from Midas Corp Office at this point. 08/02 called Midas Corp office with no results. 08/03, Husband still had to call shop to find out if car repair was complete. The Customer Service was no great at all. Feel charges are still high for all the time spent on car.

We must disagree with Ms. ****** characterization that we were not communicating with her. Both our District manager and store manager spent a lot of time on the phone with her. Most recently, our DM was on the phone with her for a half hour to explain to her we had issues having parts come in. She's claiming ***, our manager would never call her but *** talked to her just about every single day. She told our DM she was looking for a discount and he explained to her all the discounts were given and we cannot give anymore. She wanted reimbursement for a rental vehicle but our hands have been tied due to parts availability. Unfortunately, we do not control the supply chain and are at the mercy of what's available. We always try to perform our services as expeditiously as possible, but if parts aren't available we can't make them magically appear and we appreciate our customer's patience and understanding during these trying times.

RE: Car Repair (From Jun 17 - Aug 3, 2022) - In speaking honestly about this timely repair, my husband and I were not pleased with the Customer Service we received. In just the first seven days of our car being in the repair shop, the Manager did not inform us that more work needed to be done until we called to ask about the status of our car. We understand that things may happen with getting parts needed and feel this is were Customer Service (informing/contacting the customer of all ongoing repairs/services needed), would have been appreciated. The manager did inform us of the repairs needed with our car but every update we received was when to we took the initiative to either call or go into the shop ourselves to find out what was going on with our car. Again, we would have appreciated being informed instead of calling ourselves during this time period. This was a very inconvenient time for us as well because this is our only car. We just wanted to be informed so we could know how to better plan our lives as we waited for our car.
