I originally was to have both AC/Heating and Plumbing work done on my house, however due to a last minute change I decided to no go through with the AC/Heating, unfortunately the loan originally created through a company called good leap, of about $21,203.10 (which includes both the AC/Heating and Plumbing) didn't get updated to just the plumbing of about $4900. I was told by Good Leap that Apex is supposed to call them to get this contract updated but apparently this hasn't happened yet. I'm unable to do anything except remind them to get this contract updated.Business Response

Description: Constituent states that she had a Apex plumbing pros came around December of last year and states that she paid them and they only did a quick fix and states that she had a one year warranty, and they sent out a plumber to look at her pipes after she contacted them about issues with the initial plumbing they came to repair, and then states that the plumbing company came and stated that it was possible that they would have to come back out, She states that they came back and requested payment stating she owes $415 for additional plumbing repairs because of them already installing a shut off valve . She states the plumber did not fully repair the problem.Business Response

I spoke through email with Michelle the advocate for Apex. When she reached out to me through email she had all of the facts wrong about my complaint. I explained I wasn't a refund and do not trust Apex. She then said she would get back with me but has Not. The plumber that came out in December only fixed part of the problem which will cost more money to fix it correctly. The plumber never repaired my spigot like he should have back in December, instead he stopped the leak and LIED by telling me he did. I also found out he did not do a good job installing the valve either. However I was charged an astronomical price. I do not trust Apex and do not want them doing any more Plumbing for me. I just want a REFUND at this time. A full refund since this issue will cost more to repair because of Apex not fixing the problem RIGHT to begin with.

Hi *********, we spoke recently about the work you had done with Apex Pros and I explained to you everything from the tech's notes and you stated that it was all wrong. I then told you I would have a Manager reach out to you, not myself, as you still weren't satisfied with my responses. The manager informed me that he has already spoke about this with you before, about this same issues and that no refund was needed at this time. He stated that our tech did the work he could when he first went out back in December and completed that work at that time that you paid for, he repaired the leak we was there to fix with a shut off. Then you was informed that the hose bib couldn't be fixed until the plywood and siding underneath was fixed as it was completely rotted out. Our tech went back out the next day as you called in and stated that you had fixed the plywood issue, tech shows back up and it still wasn't properly fixed so that he do the necessary add on work/repairs for the hose bibb that you were requesting. After all of this, our manager Jay reached out to you and explained on the phone that the wall/plywood still needed fixed before work could be done and that there would be a charge for the rest of the repairs and you denied any further service at that time. When our tech was out in December, he did what he was contracted to do at that time on the invoice that you have a copy of, which was fix your leak, which he did. The work that was paid for has been completed. This other work you are requesting is add on work not something you paid for already. If you would like to discuss this further please reach back out to Apex.Customer Answer

I am rejecting APEX PLUMBING's reply because Michelle nor the manager called me or reached back out to me in regard to this case. In her reply she states that he TOLD HER had already spoke to me before which was several weeks ago however they HAVE NOT reached back out to me AT ALL RECENTLY. THE MANAGER telling MICHELLE that, and then neither of them ever reaching out shows the complete disregard to my complaint with this situation. AGAIN WHY I do not trust APEX PLUMBING. SHE DID NOT OFFER ANY RESPONSE BESIDES trying to offer me services for HUNDREDS of dollars. I WILL NEVER PAY APEX ANOTHER DIME for any services SO STOP ASKING ME TO PAY FOR SERVICES. I HAVE ALREADY SAID NO A MILLION TIMES.
THEIR TECH TOLD ME BACK IN DECEMBER THAT he had my spigot turned off with the valve that he placed on there, HOWEVER that was NOT true because he never reconnected the SPIGOT BACK IN DECEMBER. THERE IS NO CONNECTION to the spigot. HE PUT THE WRONG PIPE ON THERE AND CLOSED OFF ANY CONNECTION TO THE SPIGOT which means he kept the spigot disconnected when it had split back then. THIS SPRING, WHEN I found out that my spigot was hanging out of the wall and disconnected, I CALLED THEM AND EXPLAINED this to them, and the manager was not helpful and even annoying. Speaking to him was similar to speaking to a brick wall. He only was interested in money, not a resolution. Another thing to note is that they were back logged back in December around that time (XMAS) due to pipes freezing bursting around the city which may explain the half job. WHAT I DO KNOW FOR A FACT IS THAT THE MAN TOLD ME I COULD CUT MY SPIGOT ON IN THE SPRING to use it and that HE SHUT IT OFF FOR NOW DUE TO THE FREEZING WEATHER. HE NEVER SAID THAT HE DIDNT RECONNECT IT. AND I TOLD THEM I HAD A LEAK AND MY SPIGOT WAS ALSO DAMAGED back then including the technician when he arrived. They failed to fix things properly and as you can see they are ONLY interested in $$$$$ and will argue you down even when they are 100% wrong. Instead of trying to remedy the problem, they are trying to charge me $400 + dollars after I paid them a fortune back in December only to be in this SITUATION NOW. I am only interested in a refund AND THAT IS ALL I AM WILLING TO ACCEPT. THANK YOU

Main water line broke under master bathroom resulting in major leak through dining room ceiling and onto and through dining room floor and basement utility room. Plumber cut hole in dining room ceiling and repaired leak. Upon assessing damage, discover another minor leak in basement utility room. Plumber did what he referred to as tracing source of minor leak. He claimed minor leak originated in cabinet under sink in master bathroom and in cabinet under sink in guest bathroom. Replaced Lav Sink Drain Mechanism and Emergency Shutoff Valve under both sinks. Stated the minor leak was fixed. When asked why minor leak was still leaking, plumber stated the leak would stop as soon as the water remaining on the pipe dissipated. Paid APEX Plumbing $703.80. Minor leak never stopped. Plumber called back a week later, returned and wanted to charge me additional dollars alleging leak originated somewhere else. When asked why I was charged for services under the master and guest bathroom sinks that were not needed, he stated he made an incorrect assessment. I refused to pay for potentially another incorrect assessment and hired another company. Origin of leak discovered in another room in basement and repaired by another company without issue.Business Response

Mr. ***** and I spoke yesterday about the issues he had. We agreed that the first tech that serviced his home did not provide the level of service that we as a company expect. The second tech that serviced his home did meet the customers expectations and completed the work. Although the customer didn't give us the opportunity to address his new concerns that developed last week we went ahead and issued a credit. Since work has been completed by another company this will void the warranty provided by our company going forward. We do strive to provide the best service as possible to our customer and hope that Mr. ***** will consider us in the future.Customer Answer

Better Business Bureau:
I accept the business' response of refund to resolve this complaint. I did not receive the full amount I requested in my complaint, however, the amount refunded by Apex is agreeable. With regard to the voided warranty, I accept this resolution regarding the repairs corrected by another plumbing company, barring the work regarding our sewage issue which was solely repaired by Apex of which includes the underground drain piping and plumbing exhaust vent repair. We expect Apex to still honor their original warranty for those repairs not corrected by an outside company. In regard to your claim of not providing Apex the opportunity to resolve their mistakes, we sent a certified letter of complaints that was ignored by Apex. We then escalated our concerns to **** ******** ******* which then was advised to send to Better Business Bureau, which we did. Therefore, we would like it noted we provided Apex with ample opportunity to resolve their issues.

I had a sewer backup that started out very small on January 16, 2023, Martin Luther King Holiday. I contacted Apex to come the next day, Tuesday January 17, 2023. During the night we received more and more rain which made the backup continue to rise and flood the basement too. I called to try to get them to come in the night but they didn’t have any available. So they came and had a very high pressure salesman that preyed on my emotions. They tried to jet the line but it didn’t clear. They charged me $855 dollars for that. However, the next day the City needed to check to see if it was their problem. When I called to cancel Apex, the salesman showed up at my house and walked in without permission not only once but twice. I got rid of him and immediately called to report him. After 2 or 3 calls to Apex to speak to the owner, the receptionist said that he or she would call me and they were sending me a check for the $855 dollars. To this date, I have not received a call nor received a check. I will call the Pataskala Police to see if I can file charges against the individual who entered my home twice to where I had to scream from my bedroom for him to get out as I was changing clothes. My 80 year old mother told him to get out the first time he entered. He frightened her. I told Apex to never come on my property ever again.Business Response

Date of occurrence 1/17/2022 $20,000 in costs to fix the well Apex pros did not provide all of the parts they had listed and that were paid for in repair. Apex employee "Todd", an ******* *********, said their one year warranty that is on the bill of lading and is offered to all clients would not be honored for the work and parts on the well that Apex Pro's did not finish completing and parts that were paid for that never were included in the final install. And they would not fix or do any work to the well. Property was sold to me on 6.14.22 from previous property well owner Julia ValentineBusiness Response

To Whom It May Concern,
We have not completed any work for the customer that submitted the complaint. Our warranty clearly states that the warranty is between the customer and Apex. Furthermore, this property was flooded which submerged all electrical components. This terminated all warranty on all electrical components as explained previously to the customer we worked with and later to the person submitting the complaint. All work was completed and functioning properly at the time of the install up to the flood.Customer Answer
Date: 01/21/2023
I spoke with the representative from Apex Plumbing, the representative Todd an account assistant explained that when the river flooded they took back all the equipment that the owner of the property had paid for, and they never gave it back equipment that was made for handling water. It is a false statement to say that the equipment was distroyed due to flooding when the equipment is made to be submerged by water.
Furthermore, the warranty never states anywhere on any of the pages or documents that the warranty is not valid for transfer of ownership.
After speaking with the owner of the original purchase of this equipment, the owner believe that all this was purchased and added to the well, which we find out later Apex never installed, and never explained fully with the owner.

I am rejecting this response because: after speaking with the seller's agent for the prior owner both the agent and the prior owner report that they had no knowledge that the Halo system was not covered by the warranty, and they had no knowledge that the Halo system was removed and not replaced by Apex. There were also multiple parts of the system that were not installed correctly by Apex which the prior owner was unaware of - these should have been remedied and covered by warranty.

Customer was contacted 8/15 at 3:09pm and a voicemail was left to set a time for a contractor to come assess the damage. Customer called back 8/16 at 10:09am. Unfortunately I was unable to return the call until 4:37pm on 8/16. At that time I was able to get some times that would work for the customer to have the contractor review the issue. To whom It May Concern,
We have now made several attempts to contact Mrs. ******** but haven’t been successful. Apex Plumbing was originally called to perform a camera inspection on the customers sewer system. Our team discovered that they could not clear the line due to large root masses. At this time the customer was given two options to resolve the issue. The customer agreed to the first option and applied and was approved for financing. Work was started at the home and mostly completed excluding some small finishing item and an additional camera inspection to verify the integrity of the pipe that could lead to more line needing replaced. Unfortunately, we discovered that the financing hadn’t been completed by the customer. The customer then became very difficult to reach.
Our rep was able to finally reach her and collect a deposit for the work completed but not the full amount due to the open requested repairs. Later during the scheduling of this work Mrs. ******** requested that the rep call her before anymore work was completed. She had discovered that she possibly had a warranty that would cover the rest of the work and declined to complete any additional work at her home. This is when our rep asked for the remaining balance for the work completed. Mrs. ******** became upset and refused to pay the balance.
We will continue to reach out to the customer to hopefully resolve the issue.Initial Complaint

On May 31,2022 Apex Plumbing came to replace 160 ft of water line that runs from our back garage to the back of the house. The charge was $9994,00 to install the line underground using a boring machine. During the process they nicked the 100 amp electric line in a number of places and also cut the line that runs from the house to the back garage. Apex then dug 5 ft by 5 ft hole ( about 5 ft deep) in our backyard and contacted numerous electrician, who all agreed that the 100 amp electric. line's needed replaced. On June 17th Apex came out and dug a trench from the back garage to the house. After numerous delays the electric line was laid in the trench on 6-22 , but not connected. Apex partially filled in the trench on 6-27 and the electrician connected both ends on 6-28. Our grass has died because of the length of time the dirt sat on it, We have lost shrubs and bushes because of the delay. We still have a 4 ft high pile of dirt in the middle of our yard. Our sidewalk was not properly replaced. Todd was supposed to stop and check out the final job and he was a no show. He did however call my husband and state that we owed him $4,000 for the mistake his company made cutting the electric lines. My husband stated he paid him the $4,000 by credit card. We even had a neighbor bring his tractor over and fill in part of the ditch while we waited We want our $4,000 back and the work on our backyard to at least look decent. We realize the dirt has to settle over the trench, but we would like have something done with the large pile of dirt. We were left with a 5 lb bag of grass seed and 2 bags of mulch that won't even cover a half of the damage.Business Response

We reached out to Mrs. ***** yesterday to discuss the work completed. Our team will be heading out to her home to refinish the landscaping this coming Monday. We reviewed on the phone the nature of the work done and the customer stated what occurred. As discussed with the customer, the company Call Before You Dig was utilized and all public utilities were marked and were not disturbed. Unfortunately, when the garage was built separately from the home the contractor who installed the electric ran the wiring at varying depths and there was no way for the team to know power lines were there. As a good faith measure Apex shared the cost of the replacement of the line which was well over the $4000 paid by the customer. Mrs. ***** was satisfied with our conversation and resolution.
