I was trying to make a purchase using a gift card that never expires, but when checking out it is not recognized by the company from which it was purchased. When contacting customer support, they say they no longer accept these gift cards and cannot access them in their system. The money was paid and now I cannot redeem my gift card. I was gifted a gift card from Bed Bath & Beyond for Christmas and have a merchandise credit and was unable to use either of these as they are now owned by Overstock. They state that they are unable to honor gift cards purchased prior to 2023 and I have no options. The cards clearly state "never a fee, never expires" and yet... they can't be used after 2023? I understand they were bought out, but to purchase the name, branding, etc. and yet NOT honor gift cards is pretty awful. I can see that others are having the same issue and there seems to be nothing to do but toss the cards, despite the money spent. I have been wrongfully charged for a Bed ***************************** subscription despite multiple cancellation requests. I initially signed up in 2021 and have since been charged $19.95 per year and requested cancellation every year. Despite canceling my ****** subscription and changing my payment method, Bed ***************************** continues to charge me annually. Their customer service refuses to refund me. This is an unfair billing practice, and I am seeking a full refund for unauthorized charges only for the current year and confirmation of cancellation. I went to use a gift card and Bed, Bath and Beyond yesterday. It had never been opened but was two years old. It wouldn't work so I called the company. They assured me they would issue a new one to remedy. Instead they sent me a 25% off coupon with an email stating that their gift cards expired on May 2023. Their company policy on the website states that these gift cards never expire and gift cards are required to remain active for a minimum of 5 years. To Whom It May Concern,
Unfortunately, the new Bed Bath and Beyond is not able to honor Bed Bath and Beyond gift cards that went unused prior to the acquisition of the brand in 2023. All outstanding Bed Bath and Beyond gift card balances expired on 5/9/2023 and will not be valid upon check out. Gift card balances from pre-existing digital and physical gift cards expired under previous Bed Bath and Beyond ownership.
The new Bed Bath and Beyond cannot honor an old Bed Bath & Beyond gift card that was issued before the re-brand, as these cards were not issued by the new Bed Bath and Beyond and we did not obtain the rights to that money in the purchase of Bed Bath & Beyond's intellectual property.
Customers were advised that the old Bed Bath & Beyond gift cards purchased prior to the rebrand/new ownership of the brand, would expire on 5/9/2023. Bed Bath and Beyond will not be off****g in-store credit or any other compensation for the gift cards.

The new Bed Bath & Beyond is not the same company as the former Bed Bath & Beyond. Overstock only purchased their intellectual properties, allowing for the name change.

I have 2 gift cards issued by the company, which indicate that they never expire. However, when I tried to find out my balances in the gift card accounts I was told that Overstock took over Bed Bath and Beyound, and they only took over the "intellectual property". I was given some giftcards totaling to $200. I didn't need anything at the time so I didn't use them. I didn't know they closed their stores and went online to purchase some things. The customer service told me that they no longer are accepting gift cards past May 2023 since ********* bought them! I would like them to be honored.
