      On 4/5 purchased a smart TV. Price included a $99.99 + tax charge for set/up installation from Hello Tech. On TV delivery we were told to contact Hello to set up/install. On contacting Hello on 4/14 they told my wife that we were overcharged, since the TV was not to be hung on the wall. So the charge should be 79+ instead of 99.99+! Hello told my wife they would therefore credit our account for the 99.99+ and recharge us the reduced 79+ set up/installation & send us an e-mail. NO E-MAIL!! On 4/14 Hello charged my credit card $92.65 ($79 +tax +??), but NO credit! My wife calls Hello, which was now paid twice, to find out about the credit. ****** at Hello tells her she doesn't know what happened to the 99.99+ credit and it would take 5 to 10 days to find out & to keep checking with credit card company--which as of today still didn't have the credit from Hello! On 5/5, my wife again calls Hello to try to find out about this elusive credit. She again talks to Hello's *****, who again tells her she still can't figure out why our 99.99+ credit hasn't gone through yet, but that it would take another 5-10 days to find out! What do you think? Smell a little fishy? **********************************************

      Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/05/20) */ After reviewing your account, we see that you originally purchased a TV mounting service through Target powered by HelloTech but had to call into HelloTech as you were having issues figuring out how to book the appointment using the prepaid card you purchased. Upon calling in, our customer service representative told you that based on your needs, you should be paying $79 for a TV Hook up and setup service instead of the $99 you paid Target for a TV wall mounting service. While our customer representative was correct in saying that you could receive a refund for the $99, we think there was a bit of a misunderstanding in how to go about getting the refund. We are unable to process a refund for the $99 as we did not charge your card issuer for the funds. In order to receive a refund for these charges you want to reach to Target directly and can do so by calling***************. By calling this number they should be able to address this situation for you. If for whatever reason you run into trouble please don't hesitate to reach out to us at Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2022/06/02) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) ***** (Hello Tech) told my wife on at least two separate occasions that Hello was issuing the credit, since they were alteady paid by Target! So, now Hello has been already paid 99.99 + tax (6.62) from Target, and then still charges me ANOTHER 92.65 after having received the amount Target had already collected for Hello! Total t0 HeLLo 199.26, for what, according to Hello should have been a 79 + tax (5.23)charge. so, AAGAIN instead of Hello issuing a (22.38) credit. they instead charge me an additional 92.65!!! This was not explained clearly. They needed to make clear that you would have to go to Target to get the $99 refunded. Since it's been more than a month since you made the purchase at Target, and you may not be able to get a refund for the $99, we have refunded the $79 you paid HelloTech for the installation. However, please note that we are unable to issue a credit from the $99 to make it the correct price because the payment was not captured in our system. Yet Hello charged me another $92.65 (not just $79); and that's over and above the $99.99+tax Hello already received from Target, which I paid for them! "Come on man" this isn't rocket science: Hello already received $106.61 incl tax from Target PLUS another $92.65 which Hello again charged me. A total of $199.26 for what should have been a billing of $84.23 incl tax!!! However one cuts it, Hello owes me a total of $115.03 tax included!!! Guess Hello's Accounting Dept must have serious problems with math (OR just makes a habit of trying to double bill clients)! *********************************************** Business Response /* (4000, 13, 2022/06/16) */ Our apologies; we were trying to keep things simple, so they did not get confusing. The service you paid HelloTech directly with a subtotal of $79 was refunded for the total amount of $92.65 and made available in your account on 06/09/2022. Please check your account for your records. Regarding the difference of $22.38, there seems to be a misunderstanding. Your initial purchase for the TV mounting service Powered by HelloTech was made at Target for $99.99. Being that the purchase was captured in Target's system, it would need to be refunded from their system. This is because a payment processing system can only issue refunds back to the card used at the time of the transaction on its own platform. While you paid money to Target, who then paid us, we do not have that transaction with your card in our system and therefore cannot credit the difference in the amount of the two services. This is why our customer support agent had you book an appointment through our system because there was no other way to save you the money.       We scheduled a TV mounting service in our new home on April 20th. The company asked for a card on file to hold the reservation. Once the mounting was complete, I asked the guy how we were supposed to pay for the service. He responded "I take cash and card". So I proceeded to get out the same card I put on file. He said "actually only cash". We had enough cash on hand so we gave him the amount of the service plus a tip. When he left, we received an email receipt saying we paid with the card on file. We immediately called HelloTech and advised them. Almost a month later, we have not received a refund for being double charged, and I've requested a supervisor multiple times now and they never call me. The service cost $280 so in total with the tip we paid about $600. I've been calling 2-3 times a week since it happened and nothing is being done.
