On 11/12 I attempted to return some cookies, a staff memberwhom I assumed was a manager or lead came over, leaned on the counter and bluntly asked, Why are you returning these? I replied, because they were horrible. He responded, Yes, because theyre a year old. I immediately felt accused and uncomfortable. I replied, No, theyre not, but he continued, Oh yes they are we havent sold those since last years holiday. I asked, Are you accusing me of having these for a year? and he responded, Yes.I felt humiliated as this unfolded in front of other customers, especially as he made it seem as if I were lying. The young lady who was assisting me with my purchase of other items even pointed out that the cookies werent old, yet he continued his questioning and inspection of the box. The entire exchange left me feeling utterly embarrassed, as if I were being put on trial over a simple return.Trying to clarify the situation, I explained that I had purchased the cookies from a Trader Joes in **, he then questioned me about the location. Eventually, I asked if I should have brought the paper receipt, since his questioning continued for several minutes, compounding the embarrassment and making me feel incredibly uncomfortable.Following this, I called the store and asked to speak to the head manager or Captain to address what had happened. The person on the line responded, This is he. I asked if he was truly the head manager, and he replied, Yes! I shared my experience in full detail, while he remained silent throughout. When I finished, he revealed, This is *****, the guy youre talking about. I was stunned, and said, You cant be the head manager or captain, speaking to customers like thattheres no way. He finally admitted he was a lead, not the actual manager, leaving me feeling misled, frustrated, and frankly, even more embarrassed than ********* experience has left me dumbfounded, reluctant to return and deeply disappointed in this treatment.Initial Complaint

Hello,We purchased a turkey from Trader Joes on pch on 11/3/24. We paid $39.96 for the turkey. When we got home we opened the bag and realized there was a huge bone and took up 90% of the turkey purchased and subsequent weight. This is deceitful on Trader Joes part as we cannot use or eat a turkey bone. There was very little turkey meat. I am flabbergasted how this was packaged and sold given the large bone. How can you ethically charge someone $40 for this? I have attached photos showing how deep and large the bone is compared to the meat as well as the receipt with the store purchased. Please issue a refund for this.Initial Complaint

We bought a bag of the sour cream and onion corn puffs, like we always do on our trips to TJs, and they tasted like chemicals/rubber. It was a bit concerning. Not sure if it was a faulty production. I added pictures of the bag we bought in case. Thanks.Initial Complaint

April 2024 I recently utilized one of trader joe's online forms to address concerns regarding two of their products: Avocados and TJ'S Lemons. I expressed my dissatisfaction with the quality of these items, noting that the avocados tasted unpleasantly like plastic or the sole of a shoe, while the lemons consistently developed mold. It has been a thoroughly revolting experience in both instances.Despite the store's assurance via email from *************************************** that they would notify their ***************** Manager and appropriate buyer, I am left wondering why these products continue to remain on your shelves despite their recurring issues. As a loyal customer, I find it unreasonable to repeatedly return to their store to report quality issues and undergo the inconvenience of seeking refunds. Shouldn't your quality assurance manager and buyer already be aware of these ongoing problems? It is my firm belief that consistently problematic items should be promptly removed from shelves until their quality is restored. As a customer, I expect to purchase products that do not spoil prematurely or possess unpleasant, non-food-like flavors. My recent experiences with these two products have left me highly dissatisfied with my overall supermarket experience. It appears that prioritizing customer experience is not currently a focus for this company. If a product is offered at subpar standard quality, it should not be sold.I appreciate their attention to this matter and look forward to a swift resolution for all the trips I had to make to seek reimbursement for these multiple product purchases. Their negligence is causing me repeated inconvenience, and I am asking you to ***** me a fair amount of store credit for it.Initial Complaint

I purchased a gift card for my daughter. I believe it was unused and when we attempted to use it, we were told it couldnt be accepted. I called ********* services as directed, gave them the ** number of the card and was told that there was a zero balance. They refused to release the amount of the purchases or even the dates for privacy/security reasons. That is unacceptable and of dubious integrity. Please advise.Card ** #*******************Initial Complaint

On 3-6-24 I was shopping at the Trader Joe's ************ location. When I went to check out and complete my purchase the Store Manager, ****, approached me in the midst of the checkout line in front of the other customers and staff. My purchase on this occasion was 8 bunches of flowers, which is a regular purchase for me often. I have been regular shopper at this location for over 10 years for groceries for my family, the liquor store and floral. I felt the way she handled it made feel belittled and humiliated in front of everyone around me and she then refused my purchase because I was purchasing too many flowers. She made me feel embarrassed, and belittled. I left the store and when I got home I called the store back to talk to her to continue this conversation in private. She continued to be snarky and humiliating. I then called the corporate office and am waiting on a regional manager phone call still.Initial Complaint

As I entered the store and began to shop for my groceries covering various areas of the store there was a security personnel who followed me to each area I traveled. The security was a young ***** male wear a sweatshirt which visibly had the word security on the back of his black sweatshirt .The black male would enter my personal space with a sinister grimace as he attempted to concel his laughter . He was given a directive to monitor and surveill me as he was in my peripheral throughout the duration of my shopping experience. His presence was unwarranted and made me feel extremely uncomfortable. As I shopped for my groceries in this store I have observed the discrimination tactic Trader Joe's allocates their security personnels to engage in. That is to dissuade and discourage shoppers of color from having a genuinely diplomatic experience.
