Blue Raven Solar installed a system on our home in February of 2025. They weren't able to install immediately due to state licensing issues. When they did, it took a couple of weeks to commission and energize the system with our energy provider. On March 4th the energy provider came out and energized the system and told us everything was good. During the first month and a week I watched our collection come in. A couple of days ago I received a bill from our energy company expecting the collection to reflect on it. I then found out Blue Raven Solar said that the energy company did not grant a permission to turn on even though they turned it on. Our system meanwhile was collecting over 900 kW in energy, none which we got credited for. Now, they refuse to tell me where the energy they collected with our system went (even though we know it went to the electric company or back into the grid).Initial Complaint

I have asked 4 times to have my phone number removed from the calling list and they have continued to call for 2 weeks now.Business Response

On January 31 I signed a contract with Blue Raven to get solar panels installed on my home. Blue Raven promptly charged the credit card I provided for the 50% deposit. After much contemplation, I decided to cancel this project and requested a refund. As of today, April 3, I have still not been refunded my deposit.Business Response

I have no issues filing another complain on Blue Raven Solar, LLC furthermore we are on the do not call list so why is Blue Raven Solar, LLC contacting us? we never asked for you to contact me and I like Blue Raven Solar, LLC to admit they are in the wrong and should not be calling us ! Also I may ad it is against the law when we are on the do not call ***************************************************************************** so we can investigate and resolve the issue promptly. and open investigate why they are calling us when we are on the do not call list. Bait and switch.. was told my solar panels would replace my energy bill 100%. Now my energy bill is higher than before I purchased the solar panel package. Was not told *** would take any residual energy stored at the end of the year and not give me credit. To date the panels have under produced requiring me to pay almost 100% of used energy from the power company.Business Response

In the Home Improvement Contract signed by each Blue Raven customer, it is clearly stated that we cannot guarantee a specific energy offset due to variables beyond our control, such as changes in energy usage, weather conditions, and shading. However, we do guarantee that the system will produce energy within a specified range based on our production estimates. According to Enphase monitoring reports, this customer's system is currently exceeding the guaranteed production levels.
This customers ********************** system was designed based on an annual usage of ****** kWh. The customer reviewed, approved, and signed off on a system designed to produce ***** kWh annually. These specifications are documented in the signed contract.
Additionally, we have no control over how utility companies manage excess energy produced by the customers ********************** system. We recommend that the customer contact their utility provider directly for any questions or concerns related to energy crediting or excess energy policies.

In January 2025, I entered into a solar agreement with Blue Raven Solar. The sales representative, arrived late to our appointment and rushed through the signing process, repeatedly assuring me that there would be no financial obligation until installation. At no point was I told there would be a $1,215 cancellation penalty.Over the following 10 days, there were multiple delays, revisions, and paperwork changes. I signed a change order in good faith on January 16, 2025. Then, on February 14, I was told via text that my solar loan had prematurely expired due to an issue with the lender (Mosaic). I was told this was "nothing on Blue Ravens end" and that we would need to reinitiate financing if I wanted to proceed.I later discovered, through public BBB complaints, that Blue Raven's parent company had filed for bankruptcy, which caused the loan termination a material fact that was never disclosed to me and instead blamed on the ********* that point, I chose not to proceed with the project. No installation had occurred and the financing had lapsed. Still, I was charged a $1,215 cancellation fee. When I disputed it, Blue Raven admitted that the only actual incurred cost was $408.24 (permit fees) yet they continue to pursue payment and refuse to waive it.This fee was never disclosed at signing or upon cancellation. I acted in good faith based on the information provided which turned out to be inaccurate or incomplete. Im requesting a full waiver of the cancellation fee based on this misrepresentation and lack of transparency.Business Response

I purchased solar from Blue Raven April 2023. Around May 2024 my panels stopped working. It took over 9 months for blue raven to come out and fix any problems. December 2024, blue raven sent a technician to look at the panels. The problem isnt solved, the panels are not producing the right amount of energy they should be producing. ****** **** who I was talking to the whole time trying to fix the panels, stated I will be compensating for the lost power that was not produced. After 8 months of lost energy, he only quoted me for $550. That was back in December 2024. As to this day March 18th, no check was produced or sent out. I believe the amount he quoted should be incorrect and much higher. Every time I call and ask about the check Im missing, he stated that it will be 2 more weeks for the check to be distributed. 2 weeks have gone on 5 months now. I have emails of him stating I will be compensated for the lost power the panels did not produced.Business Response

I bought solar panels from Blue Raven in late 2018 and by 2020 I having issues. One after another, with the system being down. It always took weeks for a tech to come out, always telling me that the electrical was not done right. Over the years the system has been up and down and it has been a battle. The company has never figured out what was creating constant issue. Now as of late the breakers are tripping and after multiple visits it is still an issue. AND they want to start charging me a $350.00 fee to come out to look at/possibly fix this ongoing issue. They think it will be fixed , if not and they have to come back out, it is another fee -??? ridiculous. The supervisor refused to escalate my case any higher. My system has been down now 5 months. I am disgusted. I want it fixed permanently or all my money returned.Business Response

Blue Raven provides a two-year service warranty for our customers. Beyond this period, any service requiring a technician visit will incur a fee. Our work orders team determined breaker issues did not start until after our service warranty had expired.
Our service fees are determined based on multiple factors, carefully considered to ensure a fair and reasonable price for the expertise and work required. This fee, however, will be waived so the customer will not be required to pay. This has been communicated to the team involved.Customer Answer

There hole spiel is finding what your average power bill is and led you to believe they are going to setup solar panels that will generate electricity to cover that average. Just got of the phone with Idaho Power trying to find out why my power bills are still so high. He upped up my place looked at it asked me how many panels I have told him 16 he said that is not enough to do what they told me they would do. So now Im making a payment for the solar panels and making allmost average payment to the power company. Bottom line making twice the power bill payments. I have noticed online a lot of complaints similar or same. And yet they claim a BBB rating as very high. Someone be it you guys or AG needs to look into this solar scam BS.Business Response
