This complaint is notify BBB & consumers that this organization is not as good as they claim they are. I used their services and agreed to a Phase 1 cost of approximately $850 and a time frame of 90 days to complete. The case manager assured me they would be able to determine who was responsible for hacking my devices including a Windows 11 desktop. They claimed I would receive a report that could identify who it is so I could give the report to the police and use it in a court of law. They had phase 1 completed within 10 days. During their “investigation” I experienced more & more unauthorized activity & may have even opened access to my families information. I attempted to contact my case manager at DF & explain I was witnessing activity right now. They didn’t care or take it seriously. Three days later they had my Phase 1 report completed. The conclusion was they were unable to find anything wrong, because malware was not used! That was never discussed at the time of contract. I still owe $441 for their services. I got a report that there was nothing abnormal. To date, the unauthorized access continues, I have had 4 separate compromised financial accounts through my apps on my “secure” iPhone 14 Pro. I submitted a survey & got a phone call from a higher up; however, the person will NOT return my calls even after several attempts. CASE:494601. I request a billing adjustment & no reporting to any credit agency.

I came across this business seeking help for being sextorted. They took advantage of my fear when I was not in a stable or mentally sound state of mind and rushed me through signing a contract for their tier 2 service. This was $4,500 with a 12% interest rate and a grand total of $5,150.88. They escalated the situation with the sextortionist and did not resolve anything they said they would. After my phase 1 report, they tried to coerce me into spending more money to have the extended service. These people will fearmonger you into buying their services. DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE. They are worse than the actual criminals. I purchased these services on 03/17/2023. They were not responsive at all and asked very personal questions such as your family life, and whether you are an important community member. These are all tactics to get information to fearmonger. Just be polite to the criminal, block them on everything because you're more than likely not important to them and they would lose their leverage against you. call local law enforcement and seek mental help. these people will take advantage of you in your worst possible state of mind. I feel used and taken advantage of by these people. Please reconsider before you buy anything from these people.

I connected with them regarding a sextortion case. I had called local law enforcement and law firms who were slow in getting back or were not able to connect after a few days. I started searching for companies and digital forensics came up. When I spoke to them they mentioned they had over a 90% success rate in stopping the extortionist. Based on the number of complaints that simply is a lie. They also said if the person did send them, they would be alerted and it be taken down in seconds. They said they would confront the individual using their "proprietary software" and identify who the person was and where they lived. I paid an extraordinary amount of money for them to take over communications with this individual, and in less than one hour after them taking over communications, the individual began leaking the information. I called the analyst immediately asking what is happening, he had no idea this occurred. I had to send him screenshots of all the instances, as he could not find these posts. All he did was ask which accounts these were and he would send a block request. They would not share what the analyst said to cause this, and when I asked what information he found, the analyst said he thought he located the country the person lived in... I had already mentioned I thought that is the country the individual was residing in. Every person I spoke to there sounded extremely unintelligent and literally the only thing they did was request to block the account. The only other advice was to tell us to do the same and not engage. I would have been better off dealing with this myself. They were never available to speak, and when they did it was always pushing back on when they could give me information. Due to the timing of the matter, I did not do my diligence on the reputation of this company. This is an absolute scam, I would resort to any other measures than using this company.

Paid $1500 to get a service for my problem that I had on Thursday, resolved the problem the next day and requested a refund on Friday. They waited until Monday to try contact me but I had told them I was busy Monday during the afternoon. Told them to contact me Tuesday, way past the point of refund at this point even though I requested last Friday, one day after paying, and I still have yet to get ahold of anyone by phone and email communication has stopped after one email each person I email. Just looking for a refund of my money and I will stop bothering.

I received the phase 1 and phase 2 reports from this company Digital Forensics Corp. Like the other complaints listed, timeliness was an issue, however I did get the reports after making many calls. The issue is that the report is inaccurate. They indicated that a Tor Browser was present, malware was identified and remote access. I filed an affidavit in their jurisdiction for notary. They indicated my personal data was stolen. I had noticed my pictures were missing on my phone prior before examination. They said that the malicious software was once present was cleaned, however I am having the same issues of password changes on all sites as I previously had before examination by Digital Forensics Corp. I went to a second source, company that has provided me endpoint security, ESET, a cyber security company. They had asked to provide some samples of the phase 2 report so that they can get an idea of the environment. I sent them snapshots of previous compromise. One of the artifacts I sent them was the Tor Browser artifact. ESET, indicated that the tor artifact is incorrect. This artifact was listed on the Affidavit. I payed for the Affidavit. I am now questioning the rest of the report, as a forensic company that mis identifies a Tor Browser is pretty suspicious. The software tool they used was a third party, however a simply follow up or cross reference should have taken place. This is an important artifact, as this indicated method, motive to conceal. I can not use this affidavit in court unless they provide another method of compromise artifact. I will be calling the Attorney General to get their thoughts on potential fraud. Both my computer and phone were extracted by tools Magnet Axiom and Cellebrite.

I was a victim of sextortion. Being scared I google searched what to do. Digital Forensic Corporation was the first one to pop up. After calling them I was told that in order for the problem to go away I needed to hire them so they could fix it. They said that the blackmailer would keep coming back and they would eventually ruin my life. They told me the blackmailer will doctor the photos to where it looked like is was a pedophile or send them to my family. They said the blackmailer would send the photos to my job and/or my school. They told me I had to hire them and that there was nothing else I could do. Being scared I gave them 3000 dollars in return they would find the blackmailer and confront them on my behalf, and that they would get confirmation that the photos were deleted. They used scare tactics to get me to pay them more and more money, saying the more I paid them the faster they could get on the job. After I paid them they basically ignored me for 3 days and said I had to wait. I tried to contact my "case manager" many times and he never answered. After a couple weeks of this they contacted me and said that they couldnt find the blackmailer and said they needed more money in order to continue on to "phase 2". They said at the end of phase 2 the black mailer would be arrested and I wouldn’t have to hear from them ever again. During this whole time they told me not to go to the authorities because there was nothing they could do. When I said that I wanted to back out because they didnt do their part they threatened me and said they would get the credit bureau involved.

I paid for a digital investigation service for a scam that I fell into and I am now realizing they are not legit. I paid $1000 on January 25, 2023. The site is digitalinvestigation.com. they promised to investigate the company and resolve my issue. it has not been 24 hours and nothing has happened, but upon researching them I have not found anything certifying that they are legit. I just called them anonymously to ask what their refund policy is, and the man refused to tell me what the refund policy was unless I had a case number, and was very rude about it. He said “I don’t know why you would need a refund.” this morning they took an additional $300 from my account without contacting me and without my knowledge or permission.

I began my business with digital forensics. I had 2 hard drives that I would have liked recovered. I explained my financial situation and that there was no rush. I obtained their business for $99 each. After that I was contacted and told they were both retrievable. The go ahead was $300. They were in good contact to this point and I was asked to sign a second contract. The next time I was “contacted was with $1300s via 2 separate transactions. At which point I contacted them. I didn’t get any real answers except that I had signed a contract. I again explained my financial situation and asked them to please put a hold on any future transactions until after the 1st of January when I get paid and also to contact me first in case I have to move some $ around. I have made several attempts to contact them and just get an update, but the only update I got from them was that I had another pending charge. I put a stop on that, and here we are. I feel like this is extortion because the only reason they are getting any money from me is because they are holding old pictures hostage with no proof that they will ever give them over. Please, advice, and also highly recommend against their use. Also my hard drives were given two separate case numbers, and they have only ever gone over one. Case ******

12/17/2022 I paid digital forensics a down payment of 250 dollars. They kept leading me on every time I contacted them saying that my case manager would contact me either that day or the next and it never happened. They told me not to worry and just kept stalling out on me. The refund policy is that they will refund your money if your case hasn’t been picked up so I called demanding my money back and conveniently the next day my case manager called me. They did that on purpose in order to avoid refunding me and I want my money back.

I was a victim of blackmail and sextortion. I was scared beyond belief and experiencing severe anxiety and panic attacks following the event. I already have an anxiety condition. After I received the blackmail I immediately searched for experts on the subject. Digital Forensics was the first result on the list. Less than 24 hours after this traumatic event they made me pay them $7200 up front to begin their investigation. Duringthe initial call (about 12 hours after this happened to me) they scared me into thinking this was going to ruin my entire life. They made up a lot of things that I believed to be true. That they were going to track me down and this could ruin my relationships and everything. I would lose my job and the blackmailers would not stop. This scared me greatly so I paid them asap to prevent any of this from happening. They made me sign their authorization and I didn’t even read it because I was so stressed and panicked. I spent the next couple days trying to remain calm. Fighting off panic attacks and suicidal thoughts (partially induced by the companies fear-mongering). They made me wait 3 days before I even knew what I was really paying for. I tried to contact my “case manager” on day 2 but he made me wait until the afternoon of day 3 to discuss with me. I now understand why he did this, to prevent them from legally having to give me a refund. All they did was prentice do to be me, send the blackmailer a tracking link, and then tried to intimidate them. This just made them laugh and maybe even painted a larger target on my back. Then they blocked the blackmailers Instagram account and that was it. They said they would work to have it removed and all sorts of stuff. They have a 97% chance to get proof of deletion, and since I am acting so quickly we have a really good chance that this goes no farther. I realize now I was scammed. My case manager doesn’t answer my messages now that they have my money. The contract should be void due to conditions
