    Similar to the other reviews we signed up after a door-to-door "sale". After multiple treatments we saw absolutely no change in pest control. We also were skeptical of the need to treat and pay for treatment in the winter months when there are no pests. Upon trying to cancel service, I called the local office and was told this was going to be taken care of. A few moments later I received an email saying it was not and that I needed to contact another number. From there I was transferred multiple times until I got a customer service rep who, instead of cancelling, tried to sell me on additional and reduced price services. I had to be rude in order to get this cancellation processed and was still charged a "cancellation fee". I would NOT recommend this service or company to anyone.

    This is an unethical company, all the reviews reflect what we endured, dishonest tactics, threats and over billing. Stay away from this company and don’t sign anything even if they say it’s not a contract, they will scam you. Do not hire EcoShield.

    I only agreed to pay for this company’s services because the salesperson used a scare tactic. I told him I had no problem with any type of insects or spiders. He then said several neighbors were hiring them due to mice coming into their homes from the nearby fairgrounds. I’ve never had mice before, but I didn’t want to jinx myself. After 3 treatments, I have my first mouse. I was told they didn’t treat my home for mice because I didn’t say that was my major problem. That was the only reason I hired them! I called to cancel my contract today. They offered to do my next treatment for half off and then I would have 3 full price treatments. No thank you. I was just sent an invoice for $214 for breaking my contract. I paid over $400 for absolutely nothing. There is no way should I have to pay them more. Do not hire Eco-Shield Pest Solutions. You will regret it.

    I have never felt scammed enough to write a review to the BBB until now. In June 2023, a EcoSheild representative came on my door and offered the pest control service. He applied all the initial discounts and also confirmed that there would be a 100$ cancellation fee if I am not satisfied with the service and want to cancel. After the 1st service that I wanted them to complete when I was at home and they didn't, I called and told them I was not happy with the service and wanted to cancel. The representative on the phone told me I would have to pay a $200 early termination which was never communicated to me earlier. Please advise and help me to resolve the issue. EcoSheild team did the same scam with TWO other houses in my neighborhood (probably more). My neighbors caught onto the same scam late and are trying to get their money back and cancel. At this time they are unsuccessful as well. I have refused to pay the $200 fee because I was lied to and now they have sent me to collections. This is ridiculous and uncalled for. How is it possible that this company is allowed to do this? Shameful

    So, I've never been big on bashing companies in reviews, I've always believed a lot of it is about personal experience, not the case with EcoShield. Sales person comes to my house, I didn't call anyone. We talk, have a good discussion, I figure I'll give them a chance. So you have to sign a contract which seemed odd, why am I committing to a product I'm not sure about. That's my fault, and I should’ve known better. Once the contract in signed they tell you if you don’t get four services you have to pay back a discount which ends up being the price of 1 service. Well the product is so bad, and customer service is just as bad, I was happy to pay them to not come back. I actually think they spray water around your house and then send you a 170 dollar bill. Then they basically tell you the first 2 services weren't normal services. Why it takes over 300 dollars and 6 months to get to the "normal services" beats me, but please please please take my word, this place is not worth it. I’m out 500 bucks and all I have to show for it is the same amount of bugs I had before they came minus the ones I killed myself, and the opportunity to write this review. Go to the hardware store and do it yourself.*

    *** came to my door Friday 7/21/23 and spoke to me about my pest control. He was very polite and walked me through their processes and showed me areas that needed attention. I told him everything sounded great, but told him multiple times that I wanted to do my due diligence and look into the company and online reviews. He got defensive about negative reviews for his company to which I said that I wasn't worried about a few bad reviews that I could look past those if the majority were positive. He also made an excuse as to why their BBB reviews were so poor, should've been my first clue. After talking with him for an hour or so, I asked him if he would be in the neighborhood the next day (Saturday 7/12/23) and we could sign a contract if everything checked out. He called his boss to see if he could get an "opening" for 11 AM the next day to which his boss replied yes. He then tried to tell me he needed me to fill out my payment information, I declined. He said I needed to initial and sign something for the opening tomorrow and I did. I shouldn't have, didn't think much of it until he left and got messages and emails saying my initial service call would be the next day. I did my research and the company is very clearly scamming people. Their Google page is flooded with fake 5 star reviews that are all new. So much so that you can't even leave a review on Google. You can tell which are real, and it's all negative and they all say pretty much the same. *** came back the next day and I told him I wasn't going to use their company because of that and the fact he misled me into signing a 2 YEAR CONTRACT after telling him I didn't want to commit until I did my research. I asked why he would have my sign a contract, not ever telling me it was a contract, after I told him I didn't want to, he said, "it is my job to rule your objection and get you signed up for our services." I told him that was scammy and said, "you're a ******* joke."

    I have never filed a complaint against a company before so this will be my first time. I recently moved into a new construction home and noticed spiders in my basement and occasionally upstairs. We have 2 year old and I thought about getting some diy pest control from **** ************ However, one of the ecoshield reps came knocking on my door one day. He was very pushy with the service he was trying to sell and kept naming some random neighbors who subscribed to their service. He also talked about the "egg cycle" and how they were going to "flush out" the bugs from my yard. He said their truck was in the neighborhood today and he would lower the price if I left them a positive review on google. So I caved in and decided to give them a change. They told me I had to subscribe to their 1 year service plan. It was a big mistake. I had them do 2 services, each costing over $200 USD including tax. After the second service, I noticed no results. I still had the problem I started out with. I called them to cancel my service and they charged me $200 cancellation fee. Over a month after the second service, I still noticed the same amount of random spiders in my house and now outside too. I called them back asking for a FULL REFUND and they refused telling me "service was done". I tried to explain to them that I did not see any results from their services and they told me there is nothing they can do. I have paid this company over $600 including the cancellation fee. I would advise other to stay away from this company and look elsewhere.*

    Worst company around. Door to door in 2023 should have been my first clue that something wasn’t right. A contract to exterminate should have been another. Price changed twice, ran my credit card at my door then I’m getting paper bills from them….I said I’ll send a cashiers check via mail. Address on paper bill is different from the actual address, call customer service and you’re speaking to someone in another country. Can’t get salesman on the phone even though he said “text me” this company is a joke. Get anyone else to do your pest control.*

    Told me it would be $169, told my wife as she is signing a contract (I would not have advised her to do that), that it was a year contract then tells her the "price is good for two years" Makes sense as when I review the contract it reflects 24 month contract. I have then spent 3 phone calls with the company in an attempt to cancel the contract given Ohio's law of 72 hour cancellation. Their claim is, "Following protocol I MUST WAIT FOR A SALESMAN to call me back" going specifically against Ohio law as I am attempting to cancel the contract prior to the 3 day deadline. I then asked to speak to a supervisor or manager who could cancel my account as I am not a call center representative and cannot spend the entire day on the phone today and possibly tomorrow. She refused to get someone on the phone or cancel my account. Despite the response I get today or tomorrow, I am going to leave negative reviews on every social media platform which is available. In addition to that, I am going to message every senior executive available on LinkedIn in an attempt to shed some light to policies and procedures put in place to specifically go against Ohio Law and consumer protection laws or rights such as attempting to cancel a contract during the cooling off period.
