I had 3 different insurance providers due to mergers and job transfers, ***** up to 12/31/22 ***** from 01/01/23 to 02/25/24 and ******** ( a division of ***** ) from 02/25/24 to present. I have Medicare part A only. Ohio State University Hospitals has either billed the wrong insurance company or given incomplete information to the correct insurance company. Either way insurance claims have been denied and rightfully so. I have called the billing department several times, offered to set up a conference call with my ******** (*****) representative and no correct action has been taken by the billing department.
Apparently my case has been escalated to a review board and I was told 90 days ago the problems would be resolved in 45 days, nothing has happened to correct the problem. Ohio State University Hospitals keeps sending me bills for unprocessed claims and sent me a letter telling me I have been transferred to a collection status. I called them again and they told me my case was still in the review process. I have done everything I can to provide them with the necessary contact information for my insurance company with no results and this is going on for 10 months now. I told them I was going to file a complaint with the BBB which is what I am doing now to try to get this resolved. the incorrectly processed claims are on 4/19/24 $85.00 Insufficient data to process,4/22/24 $399.00 insufficient data to process, and 7/19/24 $152.00 amount charge exceeds contractual agreement with ******** *****.
I don't mind paying the bill AFTER it is properly processed with my insurance company. OSU Hospitals billing department's phone is ###-###-####

I have reached out numerous times regarding a check that eas sent to cover a medical cost through my FSA. I submitted proof of cashed check. After months of reaching out for follow up they said they cannot verify who cashed the check and now are refusing to remove the amount of money that I have paid and are requiring additional information from the FSA which I am unable to obtain. Note- I have had to make numerous calls and they do not follow up with me nor have ever allowed me to speak to a supervisor just relay messages. I am looking to get this remedied as the money was taken from my FSA, I provided the proof and do not believe I should need to pay again when I am not responsible for the error. Included is the proof of payments as well as a number of messages I had to send to try and receive follow up.Business Response

Please note that this involves medical bills for my son that occurred before he turned 18. I am helping my son who turned 18 Feb 17 2020. Since that time he had some medical bills through the Ohio State University. The bills that he was responsible for have been paid. I have communicated with the billing department on multiple occasions. Just in the last couple of months The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center has pulled bills from before he turned 18, that were in his parents name, and placed them in his name saying that he is responsible for them now since he is over 18. He is now 20.5 years old. This was just done. In the past several years, myself (his mother) and his father filed bankruptcy twice and made the hospital was made aware of this and they did not file to receive payment. I have sent messages through his MyChart account, with his permission, and informed that there are laws that prevent this. He was not able to sign a legally binding contract before the age of 18, accepting any responsibility for bills. I have read that there is a law that prohibits the bills unpaid by a parent, from being given to a child when they turn 18. Furthermore, they waited 2.5 years to do this. I have sent a couple messages asking for someone that I can speak to at the hospital regarding this matter, or a supervisor. The message state read by staff however in almost 2 weeks nobody is giving me any information on whom I can discuss this with. I believe these bills still fall on the responsibility of a parent. Anything that occurs past age 18 would be his and those have been paid. Supporting documents are in my sons MyChart account. There are messages from the billing department staff telling me he is responsible for bills that occurred before he turned 18.
My son’s name is ******** *********. His date of birth is ***********

Medical procedure performed 8/26/21; billing charges 1/7/2022; had charges been billed anytime in 2021 my insurance would have covered. Because Dr. Jeffrey Kneile did not post the charges until 1/7/2022- I am now under new insurance and new deductible. I have called and spoken with ******** ###-###-#### (supervisor), and ********. I have also spoken with the attending physician who performed the procedure. All agree these services should have been billed in the calendar year 2021. I want OSU to absorb $4,032.19 - This is their error and apparently it happens often at OSU. Attached bill shows details and service dates.
