On May 11th, I purchased a set of four tires from Tire Discounters in **** for $609.74. On May 28th, just two weeks later, I was driving in a parking lot and my front axle broke, causing my tire to fall and my frame to rest directly on my tire, causing significant damage and towing costs. It's possible that it was an unfortunate coincidence, however my vehicle was running perfectly fine prior to having work done at this establishment, and they said nothing to me about any possible safety issues or anything I needed to fix. I called them and never received a response. I would preferably like a refund, or at the very least an explanation as to how this happened. I could have been seriously injured if this happened on the interstate and am very lucky that wasn't the case.

Sorry to hear that you had this situation! As you stated, this is most likely a coincidence as changing tires would not cause your axle to break.  Your vehicle is 16 years old with over 163,000 miles, and unfortunately things happen as vehicles age. To be on the safe side, we will open a customer service case for the regional manager to review and then get back to you. Please allow 48-72 hours not including weekends.

condensed version of my issue... The attached supporting document outlines my issue in more detail. 02/15/2022: Purchased 4 new tires and 12 month free Alignment at Tire Discounters, Preston Highway, Louisville, KY for my 2012 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid. Assigned mechanic had to be assisted to complete alignment due to his lack of knowledge regarding a hybrid vehicle. I was told this by another mechanic when I acquired about the time it was taking 04/11/2022... Took my car to Hyundai dealer for recall service. Hyundai found my car to be out of alignment. 04/13/2022... Returned to Tire Discounters to inform them what Hyundai had found. They then told me the right driver side wheel bearing was going bad. Initially declined the service since aside from oil changes and tires my car is serviced by the dealer. It is important to note at this time there was no noise coming from the right side of my car where the wheel bearing is. I called Hyundai as soon as I got home to make an appointment. Unfortunately, they were scheduled out for a couple weeks. 04/19/2022...Due to the damage that could be done with a bad wheel bearing I returned to Tire Discounters to get the service done. They completed the service that day and I picked up the car. As I was driving out of the parking lot I heard a rubbing noise coming from the front drivers side... As I got on the highway the noise became louder. I immediately returned to Tire Discounters. Informed me they had put a DEFECTIVE wheel bearing on my car. Recommended not to drive and would order part and fix the next day. 05/02/2022: Paid Hyundai j$150.00 to check wheel bearing work by Tire Discounters. Asking for a refund of $250.00 out of the $453.05 charged me at Tire Discounters.... includes the $150.00 I paid Hyundai and 100.00 dollars for inconvenience of not having my car while they fixed the DEFECTIVE part they put on..for damage could have been done to my car from the DEFECTIVE part..

On 5/2/22 I visited Tire Discounters at **** Winchester Rd Huntsville AL *****. Since I purchased 4 tires from here previously, I am able to get Free Lifetime Rotations and Free Lifetime Flat Repair. After dropping it off I get a call that there is a screw in the sidewall of a tire, it cannot be repaired, and they will not rotate the tires. Upon speaking with the manager, he tells me that the screw is outside of the 4 inch "Green Zone" that qualifies for the Free Lifetime Flat Repair. I looked at the screw myself, its not in the sidewall - its in the tread, and its an inch outside of this "Green Zone". Since I previously declined the road hazard coverage, my option is to replace the tire. The next day I filed a complaint with the corporate office, and received a call from the same manager at the local store. His solution was for me to pay twenty dollars per tire for the roadside coverage, and a discount on a replacement tire. I declined and responded back to corporate about my disdain over this. Why cant this store simply honor the "Lifetime Flat Repair" statement on the paperwork provided at the purchase? Why isn't the $650 I already paid good enough? Why does the customer now have to pay for double coverage? Why isnt the "Green Zone" exclusion stated on the purchase paperwork?

We have a fleet of trucks that we have been taking to Tire Discounters since April of 2017 and they are the only company that has serviced these vehicles, this includes tires, oil changes and brakes. Until now we have been very satisfied with them. After one of our last visits, a Ford F150 returned and was leaking oil. We returned the truck and they found that the drain plug had been cross threaded and they had already put an oversized plug in it. We requested that they repair the oil pan where the drain had been cross threaded. They informed us that the drain pan, oil gasket and oil would have to be replaced. They performed the replacement and returned the truck to us. As the truck was in transit, it began smoking. They had to have a tow truck go and get it from *********** **. Upon getting it back to their store, they found that some hoses weren't reinstalled properly on the transmission cooler. Upon completion of the second repair they sent us an invoice for $501.19. The invoice was for the new oil pan. They said that the cost of the part was our responsibility and they were not going to pay for it. They said that they would waive the labor charge. We asked them to reconsider the charge for the oil pan several times as the damage was done by them and they were responsible. They didn't feel as if they were responsible and will not pay for the pan. I feel that if they worked on the vehicle and did the damage, they are responsible. As a business owner myself, I would have gladly admitted the mistake and made it right for the customer.
