I normally wouldn't submit a complaint, but this has happened every time we went to ******* Hospital and Radiology Associates was involved. My husband's employer is based in PA but we live in OH. On our insurance cards there are two addresses, OH and PA. Upon every visit, we repeatedly tell providers to bill the Ohio address (we live in Ohio, our services are performed in Ohio, and it states clearly on the back of our cards that the Ohio address should be used. All of our providers are able to understand this, except Radiology Associates, who repeatedly bill PA. Claims are denied as a result and in the past I have just broken down and paid full amounts. This time I reached out via web, **** and certified mail asking that Radiology Associates bill my insurance properly - a simple resubmission to the Ohio address. With the certified request, I sent a check guessing what my insurance might require as a copay. Provider never responded, except to cash my check. My insurance is still showing it was billed incorrectly - provider never resubmitted. I paid the remainder today, but it will not be reflected in what my insurance sees that I paid. I feel that the provider simply relies on customers giving up in exhaustion and paying entire large bills out of pocket. My daughter just had a 15-vertebrae spinal fusion on Oct 8 and we are facing the onslaught of many bills. However, her major spinal fusion is not causing as much frustration for me as this single radiology consult, because we have switched to the ********* ****** network and every single visit has been billed correctly and I know what I pay in copayments will be fair and run properly through my insurance. We have been through the wringer this month and finally today I just gave up and paid this Radiology Associate bill because I don't know who else to turn to who will have our back. I will never use the ******* network again, particularly Radiology Associates. This is not a fair provider.Business Response

The complaint has been forwarded to the Billing and Revenue Cycle Management team at radiology Partners. I am awaiting their response.
Given that Radiology Associates of Canton does not collect the address at the time of service, as we rely upon the hospital registration, our billing is not updated with the nuance of this. Aside from a response from our billing team, it is imperative to make sure the demographics information is up to date and correct at the hospital- especially the varying state addresses. If you never use the PA location at *******, ******* needs to be corrected with using a footnote, etc.

So Radiology Associates of Canton sent me a bill for a Mammogram that I had On 7/21/23 in which I get free because my insurance pays in full. I called them told them it was paid. Then I received another bill I then sent them the insurance proof of it being paid. And now I just got the bill the third time after sending proof and also the bills I'm getting is for $440.00 but my insurance have already paid them but the bill was alot lower. This place is a joke and something needs done. I am now looking into if there is another place I can have this done in July besides ********* ****** ***** ******** cause I dont want this hassle again or give them any business. I want them to fix bill ********** to a zero balance cause iit has been paid. And get someone in their billing dept. That understands English and knows what they are doing. Filing this on behalf of my 89 year old mother. This is an ongoing situation from 2022. ****** ********* ****** ********** ******* for more than 3500 dollars. Numerous phone calls to them had them reassure us the matter was their fault, she did not owe the money, it was a mis-coded billing, they promised it would not go to collections. They would take care of it. A YEAR later it went to collections. We never received any explanation, information, etc about it. Sent all of the information to collection agency and again to ****** ********** Another YEAR went by, we received an offer to settle. No information on why they believe ********** owes the money, This is wrong. It's harassment. ********** (my mother) is 89 years old and thank goodness has someone to help her through this. There are too many transaction dates to list. This company continues to bill me for services covered by my insurance. I have spoken with them several times to update/confirm my insurance information including sending them my card. They seem to be unaware now that my type of insurance switched their member and plan IFs around, both of which are easily found on the card I sent them. I feel I’m being harassed and have spoken to them too many times. They are incompetent and cannot even seem to get me in touch with a supervisor today. They have also seemed to try to be getting additional funds above what **** ******** has paid them in the past which is completely illegal. Was in a car accident 2022 went to union hospital had x-rays done. All state paid all my medical bills, this company then stated I owed them $1,737. I informed them allstate paied my bill, they then stated they need a check number. The insurance company called them gave them the check number and a copy to prove they cashed the check they said they would look for it, and get it taken care of it could take up to two weeks. Haven't heard anything so I was guessing they did there job. But came home to a letter from collects stating they sent me there for not paying my bill. This issue is with the billing department of Radiology Associates of Canton. I have not been able to contact anyone in our local office to try and get some help with this. We have been billed 3 times for the same thing. I paid the first bill on April 25th, 2022. I received another bill the following month and not paying enough attention, I paid it a second time on June 15, 2022. My husband just had a heart attack recently and there are a lot of bills coming in. Then I received the same bill again the following month and realized when looking back that I have already paid this twice. I called the billing company, that is located overseas and hard to communicate with, and they assured me it would be taken care of. Now I received a bill from a collection agency. We are very frustrated. We don't owe the, they owe us. This same thing happened before with one of my bills but caught it the first time it was duplicated.Business Response

On 7/7/2020, I spoke with Marlene at Radiology Associates regarding a charge of $37.94. This charge was paid and I was given a Confirmation # ********* stating my bill was paid. Two years later, August 9,2022, I received a collection notice from ********e for the $37.94 amount. I contacted ********* ******** ** **************, regarding this collection notice, today August 11,2022. I spoke with Airah, who again confirmed that I had made the payment. I was told by Airah to call ******* ******** ** ************** to ask that this be removed from collection. I contacted them and spoke with Holly, gave her all the information along with the confirmation number. She stated they’d mark as paid, and that I am disputing the collection. If, they determine I am correct I will receive a letter stating the amount has been paid. So I now have a collection on my good credit, because of their error? And I am expected to resolve their error myself? To me this is unacceptable business practice. I want this collection removed permanently from my credit report.Business Response

In review of our records, we are not aware of a CT without and if it was performed. Given the complaint I can understand this to be the situation.
Regardless of what had transpired before imaging, the patient did subsequently undergo two CT scans at 8:21PM.
Those CT scans were:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********* and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
The CT scan without contrast was not performed per the radiology technician due to the amount of pain Christopher was in and the inability to lay flat. As a result, she had come out and recommended we ask for another scan after he saw the physician and/or PA after getting a room in the ER. The PA had also informed us the CT w/o contrast was not completed. At that time, he was given ********, the CT with contrast was ordered and completed. Therefore, it is impossible for the scan without contrast to have a report and interpretation unless it was done fraudulently.

The charges presented are for two CT studies. These are CT Abd/Pel with contrast, and CTA Chest w/wo contrast. They were both performed while the patient was on the CT table in rapid succession from 8:21 PM and 8:29 PM. These two studies were ordered by the physician, completed at ******* Hospital, and interpreted by radiology Associates of Canton. If the issue of whether one study versus two were performed, I would suggest gaining access to ********* Medical Records and verifying that two studies were performed, especially before intimating that Radiology Associates of Canton is participating in fraudulent activity.
If this is an issue of the naming convention of CTA Chest w/wo contrast, we have no control over the billing CPT code nomenclature. This nomenclature is made by ************. The actual CPT code of ***** is titled by CMS/Medicare as "COMPUTED TOMOGRAPHIC ANGIOGRAPHY, CHEST (NONCORONARY), WITH CONTRAST MATERIAL(S), INCLUDING NONCONTRAST IMAGES, IF PERFORMED, AND IMAGE POSTPROCESSING". They place the non-contrast images statement so that if a CTA is performed, that no entity is billing separately for non-contrast images.
The reports of these studies may be found at ******* Hospital's Medical Records or patient portal. I am also able to furnish if HIPPA release is completed.
