I took over managing a midrise senior building 2 years ago and was made aware that the elevator needed service from day one. Schindler elevator was contacted on several occasions with nobody answering the phone, I was only able to leave voicemails. I have never heard from anyone until 2 weeks ago regarding the repairs. We have a pit with 2 feet of hydraulic fluid laying in it because the seals are bad. The elevator overheats on a regular basis stranding seniors in the elevator. This is the only elevator we have and it services 60 apartments with seniors using walkers, scooters and canes. Schindler keeps pouring hydraulic fluid in the tank, and each time they tell us that we are #2 on the priority list for repair. 2 years later, still nothing. I would not recommend Schindler Elevator to anyone.

We have had a service contract with Schindler Elevator since our elevator was originally installed in 1991. I took over managing our building maintenance in 2022. Schindler has repeatedly missed scheduled maintenance that we pay for, when I brought this to their attention, they blamed short staffing and credited us for one quarter in the Spring of 2023, with the promise to do the work. Schindler missed 2 more of the 4 maintenances scheduled in 2023, and did not do the *** 1 test that is also included in our payments. In 2024, they missed the first maintenance scheduled. We canceled our contract and switched to a new company. Schindler is now saying we breached OUR end of the contract, and owe them $1,500. I DO NOT recommend contracting elevator service with Schindler Elevator. I am surprised they are still in business.

I live in an apt complex with 3 stories and an elevator. Our elevator has been down since Monday the 22nd of July. Schindler elevator came out for maintenance and turned off the elevator. They never notified the office and never provided them with a key to turn it back on.No one has come out to turn it back on despite the numerous calls and emails from management. My mother is Handicap and depends on the elevator for access to the outside world. This is in clear violation of the *** and the **** No one cares. WORST COMPANY EVER!

Our elevator has been out for 8 months. These people show up for 2 hours a day and leave. The average age in the condo is 75 and we are too old to take the stairs up and down.

Very stupid and illicit company calling us to pay for services that we did not agree to and to pay for services that they did not provide the agent was threatening to *** us for the above services even when I told him that we had another provider do the same services during the last 2-1/2 years. Please do not do business with these people and find an alternative.I would give you a 0* star for their business acumen and customer service

We have a Schindler elevator in our building. It has been out for 10+ days. You cant get in touch with anybody from Schindler. A fellow resident with mobility issues had to be lifted by paramedics to access her unit because the elevator has been out for so long. Horrible. Elevator continues to still be out.

I'd leave a 0 review if that option was available. Schindler installed brand new elevators in a newly constructed 4-story distribution facility that is managed by our company. From day 1, the elevators have had issues and have been down for weeks/months at a time, creating a *************** issue for our Tenant. Schindler installs proprietary elevators/software/equipment, so they basically hold customers "hostage" to their service when Schindler elevators are installed. We attempted to have other service contractors bid, and they cannot touch Schindler equipment. Proprietary products should not be allowed to be installed as it does not give the end user any options if failure of equipment or contractors failure to perform. The only way to have another contractor service is to replace the elevators at the cost of about $600,000.00. Schindler would not be my vendor of choice.

Our church singed a contract in 2009. The contract lasts 10 years and AUTO RENEWS for another ************************************************* even a courtesy letter sent to remind us of the renewal date. The contract allows Schindler to increase the price at anytime without consent. Essentially, we are locked into a 10 year contact (now a 20 year contract) without any say on how much we must pay each year. The company only sends a technician once a year (if we request) to "check" on the elevator. They don't do any work and charge more than other elevator companies in our area. When I asked if we can cancel the contract, I was told that we would need to pay 50% of the remaining amount (6 years left).Don't use Schindler for your elevator needs. Go with any other company!

It is necessary to add at least one star to do a review, but Schindler Elevator Corp is negative stars as far as I am concerned. I've work in the hospitality industry for 35 years and I remember when the Schindler name meant something. Now I will never recommend them to any hospitality company or anyone else for that matter. They are an embarrassment to the service industry. I've realized that not one single person that has come by to fix the issues on the one elevator we have for a 4 story hotel knows what they are talking about, I think their training includes lying to your customers, just say anything and get away as soon as possible. They modernized our elevator, our company paid additional funds to "Expedite" the process, they were over a week late turning the elevator over to us. Once they completed their work we have had to call them once or twice a week because the elevator is not working correctly. We have had to hire extra staff just to carry baggage up and down the stairs, we have lost revenue and now that we are sold out again the elevator is down for another week with nor response from anyone about when we are getting the elevator back.. And they had the nerve to ask me to sign another service contract with them!!! They are disgusting, no scruple's, snake oil sales people and their technicians, are technicians in name only because not a single one has proven that they have a clue as to what they are doing. If a Schindler sales person approaches you, run run away as fast as you can because you will definitely be ripped off, They are not only happy to rip you off for their services but they will cause you to loose revenue!!

UNEXCUSABLE LACK OF SERVICE! Elevator in 10-story condo building, with a service agreement with ********, has been unoperable for 11 days. Residents have had to climb stairs for 11 days! ******** has exhibited no sense of urgency and has made no effort to expedite repair. Took 10 days to get necessary parts, and when arrived, they were damaged. Explore your options before you do business with this company.
