I'm sending this letter to express my dissatisfaction with the poor customer service from Express Scripts. In January, I submitted a claim form seeking a reimbursement for Simvastatin purchased on January 8, 2022. On February 12, I received a letter from Express Scripts with a copy of my grocery receipt indicating the company needed a pharmacy receipt. The grocery receipt did list pharmacy on it. When I called Express Scripts and talked to three different customer service agents, they could not locate my form or provide contact information to the claims department. The agents eventually did not want to deal with my problem and rudely hung up on me. Starting February 1, I no longer had an account with Express Scripts and could not pull up the online form. I had to wait for a paper form in the mail, complete the same information and send a copy of my pharmacy receipt in hopes of receiving a reimbursement. That is so ridiculous. This is example of a large company giving a former member the 'run around' and making it inconvenient for this person to receive a reimbursement. Recently, after submitting a complaint to the ******** ******** *******, I received a reimbursement check of $3.41 of the total of $10.62 requested. This check is totally unacceptable. Every month I faithfully paid $28.00 on my prescription plan. *** *** **** **** ***** subsidized this plan $72.98 so it appears Express Scripts was making $100.98 each month. If I paid out-of-pocket for my prescription drugs it would be approximately $50 providing this company a 100% profit just from me. Prior to January 2022 I was not charged for Simvastatin. In January I paid for the prescription plan but was charged $10.62 for Simvastatin and still have not been fully reimbursement by Express Scripts. I know $10.62 is modest amount but it can add up for members paying more for their medication like cancer patients. For anybody seeking a drug plan I strongly recommend not signing up with Express Scripts. *****

Express Scripts has service which would be unacceptable from a fast food joint, let alone something as important as prescription delivery. I have had two consecutive orders stopped by express scripts citing a "payment problem" - despite not having (and never having had) and unpaid bill, and a valid payment method on file, which they have billed in the past. Customer service is non-existent. The only interaction with customers this company is interested in is attempting to downgrade prescriptions to more profitable "alternatives", such as refusing to provide the prescribed extended release tablets in favor of non-XR versions of the same compound. When orders are filled, shipping is slow, and they rarely arrive on time. Service recovery is non-existent. This company is clearly only in business as they offer low prices to insurance providers. No customer would ever choose to use this service if they were subject to any competition at all.

Worst pharmacy! I need to call in to receive my medicine and they once charged me 150 dollars auto payment for a $10 copay as it was a mistake. I stopped autopay after that abs never got my $ back. Hours on the phone and got nowhere. They are awful, poor customer service. You are better off at any drug store. They refuse to mail me invoices are condescending and I have to remember to call them. Im done with them as soon as I receive the medicine which Ive run out of 5 days ago!

Is this an insurance company at all? They rejected any medication my doctors prescribed me, even ones that I have been taking almost my whole life and got approval from prior insurance (Aetna). Their business model is very simple - reject everything.

Wow, I agree with the other complaints in this forum. Express Scripts is truly the worst business I have ever dealt with anywhere in my entire life, and there are plenty of poor ones out there. Every time I call them I ask for text messages to be sent to my phone as updates or resolution to issues with this truly horrid business. As of now, they still haven't sent any informational texts and I have to call them repeatedly to find out what is happening. The medication that I was forced to refill with these turds has now somehow been denied refill. Why? Some jackass thinks other medications should be tried before this particular medication is refilled. However, no one told me this. I had to call to find out what the delay was and one nincompoop told me it would be sent out. When it wasn't i spoke to the ************ co-worker who said a Prior Auth was needed. After my PCP filed the Prior Auth, I again waited for information with none forthcoming. I called again and was told that the Prior Auth was denied because another medication needed to be tried first before this needed medication would be filled. But, I said, I have been taking this medication for years already. By now I'm almost out of medication and these ********* didn't even contact me once. They also won't allow manufacturers coupons to be accepted. So I now pay more than $500 more a year for medications than previously all for the "convenience" of using Express Scripts. Thank you HR rep for signing on with these bags of **** at Express Scripts, the worst of the worst, *** **** **** ** ****

If one has a problem, it is beyond difficult to get it solved. This company is what my insurance uses for my pharmacy prescriptions. Twice I have had two different problems and have spent countless hours on the phone trying to get things straightened out. The last time they suddenly denied coverage of my medications and I went 3 days with no pills. Calling does nothing. Never received any calls back so each time I called I had to go through the hours long process to get things straightened out. They told me I could not go to pharmacy to pick up prescriptions suddenly, could only receive by mail. Ridiculous! I have been going to pharmacy for years on a monthly basis and suddenly now I cant? And when I call nobody can tell me why or change it back? Something should be done about this company.

This company is hands down the worst that I have ever had to deal with. The customer service representitives were clueless and rude. They attempted to deny sending my son his medications several times even though my insurance company had approved them. I wasted hours of my life arguing with people who probably had no idea what to do. None of our interactions were recorded or tracked so everytime I had to call, the customer service rep had no idea what was going on. Then they would give me a seperate excuse for why the medications couldnt ship. It was truly a maddening experience dealing with this company and it is the epitome of a horrible business. I am not sure how they are allowed to be entrusted with shipping crucial medication to people. They should be dismantled and barred from being eligible to be used by insurance companies. They are clearly the lowest bidders and it shows. Unfortunately the patients are the ones who suffer and not the insurance companies.

This company is awful and is built on the concept of scamming the consumer. They consistently send refill requests to my doctor early. Into the first 30 days of a 90-day Rx, they'll request another refill, until I have hundreds of pills built up over time. There's no way to dispute, no way to return the pills. They just bill you and bill you, with no end in sight. The claim is that the physician sent in the requests, which mine did not -- They RECEIVED a request from ESI, as if it were from me, which it was not. This company is fraudulent and is driving up the cost of medical insurance with unnecessary prescription drug claims.

I had a medication get delivered to the wrong address on the week of Christmas (I live in an apartment complex with locked mailboxes). There was an extra-long delay to have it resent because of the holiday, and their only alternative was to try to get a doctors appointment on Christmas Eve for it to be filled in a real pharmacy. I had to wait the extra amount of time for them to resend the medication and it was delivered to the wrong mailbox.....again. It ended up being a several week delay. When I explained to the customer service agent that that's the reason I now fill my prescriptions at an in-person pharmacy, she flat out told me that it wasn't the company's problem because the address was correct on the packaging. I understand that this was (and is) an ongoing shipping issue, but if the company's main purpose is to deliver medications in the mail, and those (potentially *life-altering*) medications are both a) not reaching their recipients, and b) being dispersed to any random people in the community, then they need to at least take responsibility for it. I mean, imagine if a local in-person pharmacy just started randomly handing out prescription medications (and their associated *HIPPA-protected sensitive personal information*) to strangers on the street, they could be subject to criminal charges. I think it's fine to have this service as an option for employer-covered health insurance, but I despise that my company mandates it if you want your prescriptions to be covered.
