I contacted HomeSpec for a quote for foundation repair and crawl pace encapsulation as they were referred to me by my real estate agent. At first, I was told I was out of their service area, but since it was a realtor referral, they would make an exception. I looked on their website and found I was within their listed service area, but was told ** was out of it based solely on the ZIP code, and not the physical address. I informed them that the repairs would have to be made through the inside of the house with the floor removed, as there was only ***** inches of clearance, and they said that would not be a problem. The date of the inspection, I waited 30 minutes past the appointment time, then I checked my call log, text messages, voice mail, and email just in case I missed a notification, then I called. I was informed that the person who was supposed to come out had tried to reach out yesterday to cancel but I never received any communication. After telling them that, the response was Well, its in the computer that he tried. Would you like to reschedule? A few days later, my wife called to get reschedule, and they told her they dont work in spaces with that little clearance. There seems to be excessive laziness within this company.Business Response

Hi ****. We apologize for the miscommunication that took place throughout this endeavor. We would never wish to minimize your experience or frustration. Our team was able to verify our attempts to reach out; unfortunately, technology sometimes fails to match our intentions. *****, our GM, tried to reach out with the hopes of being able to discuss this further. We would love the opportunity to get a positive resolution for you. To ensure that you have a direct line of communication, please call ************ and ask for *****. He is eager to speak with you and make this situation right.Customer Answer

Better Business Bureau:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of why I am rejecting this response appear below:
HomeSpec states they're sorry for the miscomunication, however there was no communication on their end. The claim that their team was able to verify their own records of trying reach out is far to convenient. I don't even want them to prove it, as I'm sure it is easy for them to manipulate their own system to show whatever they want. They says that unfortunately technology sometime fails to match intentions, but sometimes it shows the laziness that I accuse. There was never a message left on my voicemail, text sent to my phone, or email sent to my inbox. The claim that the ** reached out is also a hollow gesture, in that the company reached out to try and reschedule an appointment to try to regain my business. There was never a direct apology, only an email that says "It's not too late to get back on our schedule." I want nothing from them, I want it noted that they will work harder, doing and saying whatever they want to make sure they are not cast in a bad light, rather than attempt to make good as a company providing a service.
Regards,
**** *******Initial Complaint

I hired this company to waterproof my basement. I signed a contract in February 2023 and the work was to start April 17, 2023. We had tarped off tightly the main floor so the dust would not travel to the main floor, and was assured they would not need access to the main floor. We do not have forced air HVAC so air movement is not complicating the problem, During the jackhammering in the basement to break up the concrete one of their employees busted thru the tarp and left the side door and front door open to allow for a vacuum affect to send the dust throughout our home. Both doors were left open from about 11am to 3pm. We came home to our home a complete mess with the dust heavily on our furniture, floors, kitchen appliances and floors. They also left the work site a mess. I reached out to them and the first response I received was the work was done and pay your bill. They did offer to pay for cleaning at first, however as things started coming to light they became difficult. I did reach out to 2 cleaning companies to discuss the cleaning job and they felt the job was more geared to a restoration company based upon the scope of the work and type of work. I reached out to ******* who stated that it was likely based upon the age of the home there was crystalline silica in the concrete and they would require the cement to be tested and it did come back as such. Homespec was not interested in the results. there are **** regulations on how to remove it, and Servpro quoted to clean a little more than $13000. Now I have a wall in the basement that will continue to have water running down it when it rains, now turning black. Contacted them in July and they wanted to charge me to fix. ****** or ******** was to send me a quote to review, never happened. I asked ******* my main contact to talk to someone above her and no one ever contacted me after that. I paid for a complete job, that was not!. They have pictures and all the pertinent information.Customer Answer
