Computershare is holding $13,000+ of stock and other investments I own in several accounts and I can't sell them and get the money. They will not help me sell the stock, they will not help me log into my online account, which is locked out. Options provided do not address issues at hand. Calling customer service results in endless hold sessions or issues arising and disconnection. This business is unresponsive to all my attempts at resolution.

Computershare is paid by public companies like ***** *****, ***************************, ****************** Services and ********************** to manage their stock transaction activity reporting. I listed the companies that I own stock and typically have online or mail delivery stock reporting activity on. In Oct. 2024 my mother died. Some of the stocks that I have declared dividends (paid taxes on) were listed as ****** (joint ownership) with my Mom. Since December ************************************************************************** Jan. 2025 Computershare locked me out of online accessing (no notice). I have called the customer service line 4x and sent an email complaint but I need to know 2024 dividends for Discover FS, WBD. And my bank has told me I need to provide recent financial statements for Discover FS and WBD before they can notarize and verify my stock name change documents (from Computershare). I am annoyed at the time I am spending to correctly record information for tax reasons and make appropriate name changes after my mother died. I am asking BBB to help Computershare respond to my multiple complaints. This should not be an issue that takes several phone calls to correct. I did not have this issue with their competitor **.

Attempting to reset the password to my Computershare account started in December and 8 weeks later, it's not been resolved. Computershare has chosen to do everything by snail mail AND will only proceed step by step as you call back and ask. Not only did I not receive a new temp password until January 8th, they never told me that the password reset tool also required a verification code that also would be sent by snail mail. Another 4 weeks passed and no verification code was received. I called back and got a supervisor to send me another activation code. It arrived 4 days later and did not work. I called Computershare and the only answer they had for me was to have a supervisor delete my account and start fresh. BUT.... I'd have to wait 7 business days before I create a new account (with my fingers crossed that my information would still be there). WHAT THE **** GOING ON THERE???? I've missed 2 months worth of opportunity to move the money to another up trending stock. This company needs to be investigated. On top of that, the customer assistants are hard to understand. They are likely not stateside.

I've been having a terrible time with this company. My mother died several months ago and I've been trying to get her stock. I don't have the account number. I've tried to access it with the information I do have but it won't let me access it.They said they mailed the information to me but they can only send it to her address. I've pointed that it will be returned (it was) and I had to try and forward to my address. But I was also told I need to request it by mail, and to do so I have to include a death certificate, a form with a gold medallion and to have it notartized. But to have it notarized, I need to have the account number. Also I've offered to send the death certificate by email but they refused, saying I have to send it by regular mail. I have no idea what to do. This has become incredibly time comsuming! I keep on getting told different things and I really need the money ASAP.

My wife passed away in March 2024 and had shares of *** stock that were never transferred to her married name. I sent the transfer forms Computershare required, my wife's death certificate, will, and court documents certifying me as personal representative to Computershare on December 11, 2024.Computershare called me to say they couldn't use the name of her trust as set up by my lawyers, and as shown on the *** Trust EIN# confirmation letter. I said I would have to contact my lawyer and get back to ******* lawyer's paralegal called Computershare on December 23, 2024, and they informed her that they understand the issue, it was too early to follow up and they would not answer any inquiries until their process was complete. The day before this call, I received a letter from Computershare saying these assets were going to be turned over to the state as unclaimed assets. Then I received a letter requesting me to complete the enclosed transfer documents, which were the same as the ones they already have. I had no issues with changing the name on her ****** ******* account to the name of her trust, or the name on some similar ******* stock to the same trust.I sent an email to *** ******** on January 7, 2025, who said she would turn this over to ***** *******, ************, to handle. ***** called me to verify the information on the forms I sent to them and told me about an additional $30 of shares in ***************/Discovery stock also in my wife's name and that she would process both. She then sent me additional forms to fill out. I called her back twice and emailed both her and *** ******** with questions about this on the same day and have not received a response from either one of them regarding my questions or the status of the *** stock transfer to my wife's trust. I tried calling ***** again today but received her voicemail again. This is complete incompetence or a scam. I sent them a check for $50 to complete the transfer plus incurred legal fees.

Hello - I have an existing Computershare ESPP account through a former employer. Because I no longer work there, I contacted Computershare (now Equate Plus) to transfer the money out and close the account. However, I can only transfer whole shares, not fractions. For the fractions, I need to cash out and they are charging an exorbitant 7% in fees to access my own money. I cannot close the account without either stranding about $900 or paying a 7% fee. I tried to ask for other solutions and they do not have any. I want to be able to access my own money without seemingly being punished for closing this account.
