      On Tuesday, April 1st, 2025 at 6:00 P.M. I was at home .. A so called member from Nordic Energy knocked on the door and claimed to be called in by our Association to see if anyone wanted to switch to a discounted electrical rate while keeping the same provider. He asked to come in I hesitated and he didnt ask again. He had an I.D. badge which appeared to be official. His assistant from Nordic Energy was tagging along. He asked to see my electric bill in which he was showing the amount I was paying and I asked him if this will be a provider switch in which he said my current provide will not be changed he used his phone to take snap shots of my bill and then I was sent a long lengthy contract on my phone. He did not explain much and said to just keep saying yes to all of the questions he took my phone from my hand and started to go into the settings and set up chrome without asking me! He then typed in electric customer numbers into his phone and I think the Nordic Energy Signup Application portal. Then he wanted my email. He rotated his phone for me to sign some document. He claimed Nordic Energy would call me. Nordic Energy called me for a confirmation. I asked the customer *** on the phone if I could cancel anytime , she said I needed to contact customer support, she then said if I had a pen and paper on hand for the phone number I did not. The men then abruptly left at 6:15 P.M. after I asked if I was signed on with the discount he hesitated and said yes. I did sign the document.. I didnt know what was happening the entire time everything was precise and thought out ahead of time to create confusion. Nordic Energy needs to put me on a do not contact list and I do not want anything to do with Nordic Energy. I want my contract with Nordic Energy to be canceled if it went through. This is nothing but a scam!!! After reading other peoples complaints of how much there electric bills have risen is really disturbing. Nordic energy will rip people off!!

      Just like the other complaints. Some girl knocked on our door asking for our bill and stated that a law got passed last year to lower our bill as we were being overcharged. She spoke directly to my husband. Gave us her number for any problems but now its not working. I get a letter from **** today stating that I changed my energy provider. That was never conveyed. All was said was that our bill would be lower. I called PSEG to cancel this. They told me I also need to contact these crooks as they may charge me for signing up in the first place. Not once did she say she was from another electricity provider. All she mentioned throughout the conversation was PSEG. And not once was a possible fee mentioned! Their foot workers are intentionally misleading people. Its **** near harassment the way they come into our buildings and knock on all doors multiple times in a month!Though PSEG cancelled, I still need to ensure that it is fully cancelled on their end and that they NEVER contact me or knock on our door AGAIN. Or I will have choice words for them!

      This afternoon, an employee from Nordic Energy knocked on our door and began talking to my partner about our energy bill. He then brought me over as I pay the energy bill, but due to a miscommunication, we believed the employee was from either ********** or our opted-into clean energy provider. As the employee moved us rapidly through the process, we were unable to see what we were signing onto and realized partway through that he was not a representative of the energy provider that we want to continue using. I would like confirmation that our service will not be interrupted or switched from our current provider, and that my information will be removed from Nordic Energy's data.

      I have been receiving hang up calls from various phone numbers all with Nordic Energy as the name. I have requested to be put on the do not call list as this is my BUSINESS number and I don't have any authority to alter our energy consumption. I called to ask again and they have continued to tell me that they will take my number off the call list but that it takes 72 hours. Without skipping a beat, I get another call a day later.I continue to receive hang up calls. This has become disruptive to my work and is unlawful for them to continue to contact me.

      On Tuesday, March 11, 2025 at 7:01 pm, I was at home with my dog. A *** from Nordic Energy knocked on the door and claimed to be called in by my buildings ***agement company. It was late at night. I allowed him in under false pretenses. He had a badge and seemed official. A second *** from Nordic Energy arrived as the first ***s ***ager at 7:40 pm. The first *** was insistent on getting me a discount, and said that if he didnt get me the discount, hed feel guilty. He claimed the process would take 5 minutes. The process took an hour. I was told to show the first *** my gas and electric bills. He then typed in my gas and electric customer numbers into his customer portal for *********************************************. Then he wanted my email. Five times. The first *** was very concerned with making my phone rotate to sign some document. He claimed Nordic Energy would call me. My phone has a spam blocker on it. Nordic Energy never called me. At 7:40 pm, the second ***, who claimed to be the first ***s ***ager, arrived. The second *** grabbed my phone. He tried to mess with the settings via Siri, which I dont have enabled on my phone. He also complained about my spam blocker. They were concerned with making my phone rotate to get me to sign something. The men left at 8:04 pm, after I ***aged to convince them that I was no longer interested in a discount. The first *** wants to call back today. I never signed a document. I allowed these men into my apartment on false pretenses. I didnt know what was happening the entire time. Nordic Energy needs to put me on a do not contact list.

      A representative from Nordic Energy visited me and told me he was from my current utility provide, **********. He requested to see my statements, telling me he was here to check the energy/eco-efficiency of my apartment unit. He told me it looked good and that I would need to sign something certifying that he had visited me in person. He had me pull up a website and then took my phone from my hands, typed a bunch of information and asked for me to sign it. I signed under the assumption that I was signing a document that said he had visited me in person and checked what he had needed to. He then told me I would get a call asking me to say that we had met in person. I got a call and the man began to tell me what to say and reached over to mute the call and tells me to say yes to certain questions. When asked if I was the account holder (Im not) he muted the call and told me to say yes. When he left I received a contract via text message that told me I had agreed to switch my utilities my service from Eversource to Nordic Energy. This representative did not tell me any of this and had me sign a document under the false pretense that he was from Eversource and that he was just doing a routine check on our apartment.

      Today, 2/26/25, I was visited by a Nordic Energy representative, **** *******, who was a fast mumbler; I had to ask several times why he needed to see my gas and electric bills, which I did supply because I understood from him that Nordic Energy would be doing the billing in future for my gas and electricity consumption, and that they have been sanctioned by the state PUC to do so. He sent a contract to my cell phone and wanted me to agree to the terms of service, although I was not given time to review those terms. I was reluctant to agree without my husbands input, so I did choose NO. But now I wonder if we will be switched from our current suppliers anyway. Im contacting those suppliers to have a freeze put on our accounts Just in casebut I think this surprise at my door demand to sign agreements is shady, and to not get any hardcopy of the actual contract before signing something is despicable.

      I am filing this complaint regarding Nordic Energy's deceptive business practices as my gas and electricity supplier.Nordic Energy lured me in with a low introductory rate for two months, after which they increased both my gas and electricity rates to outrageous amounts without adequate notification. Their current electricity rate is $0.1715 per kWh, which is nearly twice the standard price to compare rate of $0.0948. Even worse, their gas rate has skyrocketed to $12.42, which is more than four times the standard price to compare rate of $2.59.What I find particularly concerning is their exploitation of billing cycle delays. Due to the natural lag between rate increases and when they appear on customer bills, I was charged these exorbitant rates for weeks before I even became aware of them. This prevented me from making a timely cancellation and switching to another supplier.I believe this practice is deliberately designed to take advantage of consumers through a lack of transparency. By the time customers discover the rate increases, they've already incurred significant charges at the inflated prices.I respectfully request that BBB investigate this matter and require Nordic Energy to:1. Provide refunds for the excessive charges 2. Improve their notification practices for rate increases for all their customers in the future.

Mr. *** agreed to receive a promotional rate for the first two months, with a variable rate for the remainder of the time his account was with **********************. The prices may be higher or lower than the utilitys posted rate. The customer was billed correctly per the terms and conditions of the service agreement.       I am rejecting this response because of the following reasons: 

      1. After the promotional period ended, Nordic charged me up to 5 times the market price for energy services without any notification. While the contract may have mentioned "variable rates," no reasonable consumer would expect such extreme price increases without explicit notice.
      2. Even if technically compliant with contract terms, Nordic's practice appears exploitative. The significant delay between service usage and billing awareness created a situation where I unknowingly accumulated charges at exorbitant rates before receiving my first post-promotional bill.

      I cannot accept this resolution without a refund for the excessive charges I believe were deceptively applied. If Nordic refuses to provide appropriate compensation, I will:
      1, Keep this complaint open as a warning to potential customers about their promotional pricing tactics
      2. Notify relevant regulatory authorities including the ************************ and consumer protection agencies
      3. Share my experience through appropriate consumer advocacy channels

      Nordic has further reviewed the circumstances of this case. The rates increased due to a multitude of factors, the most significant of which being the end of a promotional period where the customers variable rate was set to $1.99/MCF for his natural gas account and $0.08499/kwh for the electric account.  The variable nature of the price, along with the promotional rate, is clearly explained, per the requirements, in the terms and conditions agreed to by the customer, along with the fact that there is no limit on variability month to month and that the price is not guaranteed to beat the utility price. Nordic agrees to rerate this customers final service period for both accounts to provide a positive customer experience and ameliorate any customer confusion. A check will be cut and mailed to the customer. ********************************************* believes it has researched and addressed the concerns expressed in this complaint and acted according to the customer's request.       Someone came to my door offering lower rates, but I ended up canceling before the process was complete because I suspected it was a ******* like confirmation that my account will be canceled, my information removed, and that Ill be added to the do-not-contact list.

      Had a sales representative come to the door initially claiming to be from my gas company, ******** to change my rate. Had me show him my bill and he implied the rate was wrong and he was going to change it. Upon further pressing, I figure out he's actually from a gas and electric supplier, and he's wanting me to switch companies. It's a win-win, I get a lower rate, they get my business, right? Why not just explain that in the first place?So he gets my info, I E-sign, he sets up my account. He says they're going to call in a minute, and that they're going to ask if he's still here, and I need to tell them no. I say what happens if I say yes, he says the call ends and we start all over. So I tell them no, then the zip code was wrong, so we have to start all over anyway. On the second attempt I get through the zip code question, but realize that I'm not getting a new rate, I'm getting an introductory rate, and it becomes variable after that. No thank you. Since he was right there listening with the phone on speaker, I didn't want to say no, but as soon as the sales guy left, I called and cancelled as is within my right if it's within seven days. TLDR: Sales guy initially lied about who he was with and implied he was lowering my rate when I was signing up with a new service, and that new service hooks you with an introductory rate and then it's variable after that. It's not a scam, but it's a skeevy business practice for sure.
