My son was left stranded on Interstate 81 in Virginia. After contacting AAA at around 10pm and waiting close to 2 hours on the shoulder of this heavily traveled interstate, AAA told him a tow truck could not be located and talked him into leaving the car on the shoulder for an unattended tow. They said they would dispatch a tow truck around 6am. The state police ultimately towed the car to an impound lot sometime b/w Midnight and 6am. I am extremely disappointed by AAA's negligence and failure to provide the very service we pay for with our AAA+ membership. I have tried repeatedly to get a customer service rep to talk about this incident but after 5 calls, I have never gotten a call back. I am beyond frustrated and want to make sure others do not encounter this...bottom line AAA CANNOT BE TRUSTED TO PROVIDE SERVICE WHEN YOU NEED IT MOST.AAA Club Alliance

We communicated with the member on January 27th regarding this situation. A check for reimbursement for the tow was issued on January 16, 2025, as a resolution. We sincerely apologize for the delay and the lack of service that led to the vehicle being towed by the police.Review fromRyan D

1 starI have spent 8 hrs waiting for a tow truck . 3 hours waiting with 2 phone calls from AAA saying I'm next . To get a phone call from AAA saying they aren't towing from residential areas anymore tonight and they would have to cancel . I talked to the supervisor and told him this is ******** bull crap and I'm blocking someone else's driveway who can't get out. They didn't care . I'm beyond ticked off . Poor customer service . Started the request at 1230pm. Got a phone call @5 and they said they would be here by 641pm . @ 730pm got a phone call saying I'm next . It's 845pm and they said they are going to cancel . I'm not even at my own house right now . Horrible experienceReview fromCrystal W

1 starWhen I signed up with the program, I was offered the top tier membership but couldn’t afford it. It offered a free battery with that purchase. Well, my son a dead battery. I called and asked about adding the coverage and was told it was just 35.00 . I asked about the service and was told they no longer offer that. I thought that was extremely unfair. I have been with the company for a while now, but now they don’t offer it. To get a battery for my son’s car, AAA charges over 200. We pay a membership fee, you’d think it would be alot less. I went to Sam’s, because I have a membership there too. There battery after tax was 150. It has me thinking twice about AAA.Review fromMARGARITA C

1 starI have been a member of AAA for more than 20 years and have never had experiences as I had in the last year. This incident, I called bc I was stuck at the gas station at Costco in New Jersey and was blocking traffic. The first agent i spoke to said that i would be put as a priority bc of my location and I would be picked up and towed in 30 minutes. After 15minutes passed, I called back bc I never received a confirmation via text. The agent i spoke to said my call was never put through and my ETA was for several hours after. I asked to speak to a manager bc of the situation I was in and my location and he refused to call a manager. I called back again, talked to an agent, who said they could call the tow directly and see if they could put me on priority. They said I would be picked up in 45 minutes. After 30 minutes passed, I still did not receive a text confirming my tow was on the way, so I called again. I spoke to another agent who told me that I wasn't yet assigned to a tow. When I asked to speak to a dispatcher he said that wasn't allowed. When I called again, i spoke to another agent who put me on hold but eventually got me through to a manager. I explained everything once again and she personally called the tow company and the tow shifted things around to make me a priority. About 30 minutes passed and I received a call from the tow driver. He asked me if I cancelled the tow and was confused bc this was made to seem like a priority. I never cancelled the tow...he said that AAA must have done it and he called me to confirm I was okay. The tow driver was amazing and professional. However the service I received from AAA was the absolute worst. I continue to received bad service from AAA and as a long time member that pays for a service that does not deliver prompt service, this is very disappointing. I won't be renewing again and will find another service to support my roadside assistance needs. Shame on you AAA!Review fromMaria S

1 starThe insurance Agent literally told me, just because I'm your agent doesn't mean I'm on your side, after she coerced me into recording a statement in which I was not ready for and even told her I didn't get to say everything I wanted. She said it's okay it's 50/50 right now. Only to later leave me a voicemail in which she said I didn't even know what happened, my statement was not clear and they were going to make me be at fault. She even said maybe the other lady lied but you should have had a better statement. Like I had told her I wasn't ready!! She also sent me to some random place to get my car assessed for damages, but they never checked or even touched my car, only took a pic and called it a day. The worst service I have ever received. I signed up for AAA because it was supposed to be one of the best insurances but my contract was ending so I think they just wanted to raise my premium, hence the botched work of the Agent Sandra Jackson.Review fromAk B

1 starMy husband has been a member of AAA since 2012 in Spring Hill Florida and only had to use them once which was today. We needed a car towed 30 miles and was denied because of Hurricane Milton. They claimed they can only do 10 miles. Nothing on their website stated that. We had to shed over 328 or 358 bucks for a tow from another company that had zero issues towing the car. We submitted information to try and get our money back and that’s going to take weeks for them to decide. We are very disappointed. We understand the hurricane issue but we also was able to get a job done that AAA refused. In cases such as this they need to update their online status that the hurricane could impact how far they can tow and not leave people in a bind when we paid for many years and the one time we needed this company and was left high and dry. customers are paying for the security the company claims they offer.Review fromChris S

1 starI waited two hours and still a tow truck wasnt even assigned to even start coming out to me after a full two hour wait! Crazy. I had to drive home with a damaged hub causing more extensive repairs. Waited on the side of the turnpike from midnight to 2am for no reason. What a waste of time. Useless service. Cant even get someone on the phone just a machine that doesn nothing.Review fromRey F

1 starNot even worth one star! Im a AAA premier member. Last Aug 11 2024 I called for a towing service for battery problem. The driver left the jump pack under the hood and smashed my windshield and damaged the hood of my Range Rover. It’s been more than a month and my car wasn't fixed. Pictures and estimated repair from collision shop were submitted. I kept on following up on *** and i spoke to ***** a person in charge of the towing. They sent me in mail an amount which not enough to fix the damage they did to my car. This is worst than a nightmare!!! started with a battery problem and end with a smashed windshield and damaged hood and what makes it worst the jump pack probably damaged the engine too. This is my daily work vehicle. The inconvenience and stress this incident brought to me is unacceptable and all of this I got from being a AAA premier member! Horrible service and treatment.Review fromRey F

1 starIm a AAA premier member for many years. This is not even worth a star for review. Last Aug 11 2024 I called for a AAA towing service for battery problem and on the way to the shop, the driver left the jump pack under the hood and smashed my windshield and damaged the hood of my Range Rover. It’s been more than a month and my car wasn't fixed. Pictures and estimated repair from collision shop were submitted. I kept on following up on *** and i spoke to ***** a person in charge of the towing. They sent me an email indicating an amount of my car based on the KBB of course the lowest amount they could get on a much higher mileage. I don’t know where they got their odometer reading. All I need for them is to fixed my car. They’re letting me pay for the storage fee since my car still in the collision shop and needed to be fixed. This is a nightmare ! It started with a battery problem and end up with a smashed windshield and damaged hood and since that jump pack was left under the hood it could have damaged the engine too. This is my daily work vehicle. The inconvenience and stress this incident brought on me is unacceptable and all of this I got from being a AAA premier member. Horrible service and treatment.
