I have reviewed this complaint with the Sales Support Team.  Mr. ********** is mistaken when he states we represented our company as Norton.  He requested Norton products, which we do sell, and which he received.  We have processed a refund in the amount requested. Please have customer check to see if the refund was credited to his credit card account.

I placed a call to what I thought was the support number for Norton Antivirus, but it was not. I talked with a support tech who told me his name was ******** and he said he could assist me with my Norton issues. He went on to say that my antivirus was not sufficient to protect my system due to having windows 11. He said that his company, *********, was sub-contracted with Norton Antivirus and that he could provide my the correct antivirus protection for 3 years/Lifetime for $445.00. I questioned the legitimacy, but let him convince me that it was a Byteckart was a sub-contractor for Norton Antivirus. After talking with Norton Antivirus today I know now that this company has no affiliation with **************** and I have disputed the charge with credit card company. This would appear to be a total SCAM and my concern is that he had access to my computer, but all will be checked out by my legitimate provider for antivirus, ******. DO NOT CALL ************** FOR NORTON SUPPORT.

      To BBB.

I believed this complaint to have been resolved.  I am attaching the documentation relative to the purchase by Ms. ************* As I indicated in my earlier response, Byteskart is a Value Added Reseller of a variety of antivirus and antimalware software programs. Frankly, I find it rather disconcerting that Ms. ****** would insist that we are a "Scam" business.  Such statements are damaging to our company reputation, and we do not take them lightly.

Ms. ****** has received the product ordered, as witnessed by the attached documentation.  She also  has technical support from Byteskart, at no addtional cost, for the duration of her license for the product purchased.

We see no reason to offer a refund.

      To BBB,

I have reviewed the Exhibits provided by Ms. ************* If you review the documents that I provided regarding the Byteskart transactions, you will see that  the  information is clear in identifying our company as a "Third Party Reseller." We are not a division of ******, nor have we presented ourselves as such.  We offer Norton, and more than one-hundred additional software products.  This is made clear in our correspondence with the Customer.  Check out our Websites,  **********************  and  ******************  to learn more about our company.

The informative Exhibits from "Norton" seems questionable, at best.  It appears Ms. ****** is being taken advantage of  by  a Third Party representing itself as ************* We have not control over these interactions.

I called what I thought was ************************ instead I got this company. I stated what my issue was with LiveSafe. The agent falsely stated that HP had installed on my new laptop an out of date version not compatible with Windows 11. The agent stated I needed McAfee Total Protection, he then misrepresented the product, he stated it would cover all 3 of my devices. I called real *********************** today and was told no it was just for 1 device and would cause problems if tried to use on 3 devices. ****** also stated they offered no 3 year package and I had paid a VERY high price for McAfee Total Protection. The BytesKart representative that sold me this product gave a number with his extension and an employee ID. That number does not work. I was asked what a good time would be to be called today to check on any issues with new product purchased. Of course, no one called. I called McAfee and got the real service, that's when I was made aware that I had been scammed the day before by BytreKart. I am going to try to put a stop on the check I foolishly scanned to pay for the scam product yesterday. If it has already gone through, I want a full refund from this shady company for misrepresenting the product they sold me and misrepresenting themselves as ***********************/Technical Support. I was told numerous times yesterday on the phone with ByteKart that I was speaking to ***********************.

On May 28 2024 I called what I thought was McAfee. I needed to get additional antivirus protection. The person on the phone *** said that I was not covered with ******. The previous scammer Qikbay sold me a plan in June of 2023. I thought I was covered by ****** but found out qikbay had scammed me. I got the number to contact ****** off the website and thinking I was talking this time to the real ******. I agreed to a 3 year plan and they had me pay them with a check that was sent to them electronically in the amount of $476.98. After I hung up I recalled ****** and this time I did get the real company and they said they do not sell 3 yr plans. I talked to a ******* and she said to stop the payment of the check, This was within an hour of the transaction on May 28 2024. I put a stop payment through and the bank said to close out the account as they had the check and knows the account number and route number. I talked to ******* and she appologized for the problem and gave me 2 yrs of coverage at no extra cost. Byteskart phone number was on may 28th ************, Their new number is ************ and email is ******************************* Sheleka said they did not receive any payment from them. I did sign and agreement with byteskart but I hope this is not binding. I checked the address for byteskart and it is a house not a company. I want a confirmation from byteskart that the contract with them is not binding and they will not contact me in any way

This is a duplicate complaint.  I spoke directly with the *************** this evening.  I followed up our conversation by sending the following e-mail.

      ****************,

I appreciate you taking the time to talk with me this evening. It is unfortunate that our conversation was not under the best of circumstances.

We live in a world where technology has provided many conveniences, but these have been compromised  ever growing dishonesty in the digital marketplace.

At Byteskart, we strive to provide legitimate services and products to our customers. Sometimes we fail in our interactions, as has been the case your recent purchase of McAfee software licenses. Following our conversation this evening, I understand why you were uncomfortable with the transaction.  I also believe that I was able to provide insights into how the on-line software marketplace is structured. At the end of our conversation I believe you recognized that Byteskart is a legitimate U.S. company that relies on off-shore support for sales and customer service.

Please know that you are under no further obligation to our company for the Registration Codes we provided you.  I will be in contact with our teams in ***** this evening to assure you will not receive further communication from Byteskart LLC regarding your purchase and stop payment. If there is any confusion on this agreement, you can contact me directly at the phone or e-mail listed below. These are my personal and direct points of contact.

      Sincerely,

      Michael

I allowed Bytes kart to get into my computer because I thought it was part of MacAfee. I issued a check for $390.00 for additional virus protection. When I went on to my computer at a later date I realized that there was many different Gmail accounts attached to my computer. I stopped payment on my check from my bank.. Bytes Kart deposited the check electronically. They are a scam company. I notified my bank and they said the stop check was issued but they did it electronically. anyway.

      To BBC:

We have received the complaint filed by *************************.  It is distressing to read that she believes we have compromised her computer and andriod cell phone.  Byteskart LLC is a *********************** We are licensed to provide Registration Keys to many brands, including the full line of McAfee products.

****************** contacted  Byteskart LLC on May 10, 2024.  She indicated she wished to purchase McAfee Total Protection. With her permission, we scanned her computer for any features that might prevent activiation of the McAfee Product Activation Key.  She then placed her order for a Three-year Subscription to the product in question and made payment by a Personal Check which our company deopsited electronically.  Per our usual process we then e-mailed her the Activication Key and asked that she respond to the  e-mail to confirm her receipt of the Key and that the information had been loaded and activated on her Computer and Android phone.

We did not load anything on her computer.  The Activiation Keys are single purpose for access to McAfee services.  We have attached two documents that suppport the validity of our interaction with ******************.  You will note that she was provided the information needed to contact Bygteskart by e-mail and/or phone.  We did not receive any communication from her other than her acknowledgement  of  receipt and activation of the Product Key.  If she was experiencing technical problems, she had the opportunity to e-mail our Support site, or call our ********* Services Hotline.

      (Please see attached documents.)

We cannont accept responsibility for what **************** does with her Computer or Android phones.  We certainly have not "attached many different G-mail accounts" to her computer.

In a gesture of "Goodwill"  we will refund $100 to *****************.   She should e-mail her request, including her current mailing address to:

On January 8th I ordered a McAfee three year subscription for my computer with ********************************* of BytesKarp . He took a scan of the check for $249.99 for protection from my computer but was not supposed to cash it. He told me to mail the check to them and I did. But when I checked my account they had cashed both the scan for protection and the written paper check. Therefor I ended up paying double for the three year subscription I had ordered. I have tried several times to get them to refund me the extra $249.99 but no help. I even had another party call them but no help. I have called McAfee but they were not at all helpful. Being an elderly retiree on fixed income I would appreciate getting a refund for the second $249.99.

Happened over the phone on 12-5-23. Byteskart explained that I had been hacked and needed to update my McAfee in order to be safe. They explained that they were the part of ****** & that dealt with clearing up scans. I had been receiving a lot of scam notices on my **************** so I believed them. They had me scan a check for $599.99 to them - Check#**** ************* After thinking about it & realizing this was way too much for normal protection I tried calling them with no answer. I filled a complaint with my bank but they said they weren't able to do anything. Thank you for your patience as the staff at Byteskart LLC reviewed all pertinant information regarding your complaint. We take excepiton to your suggestion that Byteskart, LLC scammed you.  The picture you paint does not really start at the beginning of our interaction with you.  I wish to make it perfectly clear that you contacted our company looking for a Antivirus/Antimalware software package.  After examining your computer{s) out technical staff determined that your equipment had been severrely compromised. At that point a sales representative provided you with several options. You were not misinformed, Byteskart is a certified sales outlet for ******* products. It may interest you to know that we are one of more than ******* providers of registered, downloadable software titles. The ******* package you selected was one of their top of the line solutions. I would suggest that, whichever vendor you chose to review your computers took advantage of your vulnarability. We  cannot  be held responsible for your decision to undo the the Registration Certification we provided.

We find it interesting that you waited almost three months to file your complaint. You had ample time to contact our company to voice your concerns.  The documentation of the sales transactions that occurred in December are attached to the response. You were provided technical services, Registration Codes for one desk top and three PC's. I addition, Byteskart has guaranteed unlimited  technical service to your computers, computer peripherals and Wifi related equipment for one full year. We stand behind the multi-year product you purchased and will contunue to be availble to provide technical support until    December 6, 2024. On April 29, 2023, I remitted a payment of $499.99 to Byteskart LLC for a one-year service maintenance plan for my computer and website, Kacius Physical Therapy LLC. Subsequently, on November 27, 2023, when I attempted to engage their services by both email and phone, my efforts were met with silence. Regrettably, not only did Byteskart LLC fail to respond to my communication, but a recorded message indicated that the provided phone number was no longer valid. Despite reaching out via email, no reply was received.I kindly request the Better Business Bureau (BBB) of **************** to conduct an investigation into the practices of this business, as I believe they may be engaging in deceptive practices. Furthermore, I seek assistance in reclaiming the $250 US, corresponding to the remaining six months of the contract, considering the business has failed to fulfill its commitment to provide additional services. Your intervention would be greatly appreciated in resolving this matter.
