I had purchased 4 virtual long distance calling cards from the company CallingCardPlus.com, all of the type called “Brilliant,” at a cost of $5 each. I used 3 of the cards with no problem, but when I tried to start using the fourth card around January 3, 2023, and entered the corresponding PIN ************, the automated phone system gave the message, “Account not active.” It would not allow me to place a call. -- I have never used this calling card at all, never placed a call with it, and all $5 are still present on the card. -- I telephoned Customer Service on January 3, 2023 and reached an agent who would told me, “The account is not active,” and would give no further explanation, and hung up on me before I could speak another word to ask a further question. -- In an attempt to assist me, another person called Customer Service on my behalf on January 5, 2023, and they, too, were told, “The account is not active,” and the representative quickly hung up on them. They immediately called back to Customer Service and the same man answered and said, “I told you this account is not active. DO NOT CALL BACK.” -- I then went to my CallingCardPlus online account on January 12th and followed the procedure to “Open Ticket” for assistance. I made 2 subsequent help requests for the same issue, all with no response. -- On January 21, 2023, I mailed a 3-page letter to the company at 5520 Cherokee Avenue, Suite 210, Alexandria, VA 22312. The letter contains all of this information, and more, along with computer screenshots of my online account with the $5 unused balance clearly visible. Today is now February 3, 2023, and I have not gotten a response. -- I would like to ask the Better Business Bureau to intervene on my behalf with CallingCardPlus.com to have them provide a resolution to this matter, such as to credit $5 to my online account, or send me a $5 refund by mail. -- I am 85 years old and I have not been able to call my family for the past month. Thank you
