      In February 2021, I purchased a new home in *************, **. I installed a Guardian alarm system for security monitoring. Because I have a disability, it was necessary to return to ********** closer to family resources. I requested that my service be transferred to my new home in Southern ********** however Guardian does not service the area of my home. The customer service representative had NO interest in my concern. I was told, if the new owners do not install a Guardian system, Im on the hook until the contract ends in 2 years!! Really!! I need help with resolution. Thank you.

      Hi ****, Im sorry that you feel frustrated with this situation. We take your concerns seriously because customer satisfaction is very important to Guardian. I have located your account and see that you joined Guardian through one of our authorized dealers, signing a three-year contract just one year and two months ago; and receiving your system at no charge for the equipment and no charge for the professional installation of the equipment. Because Guardian makes a significant upfront investment when new electronic security hardware is installed and activated in your property, the costs of such hardware are recouped by the provider over the initial contract period. This is the reason an early termination fee may apply if you wish to cancel prior to the end of the initial contract period. The contract also serves to protect both the consumer and the provider, by defining services to be provided, rates, terms and obligations of each party. I see that our supervisor has been in contact with you regularly the last few weeks to attempt to resolve your issue and that you have reached a satisfactory solution.       Signed a contract for 5 years and was told that the contract would move with us if we ever decided to relocate. That isn't true. We relocated and were abruptly told that our service cannot move to our new location. Even though they were in breach of contract, we have to pay there ridiculous cancellation fee in order to avoid the credit hit.
