1 starSad to say that these reviews regarding their vinyl siding product and warranty issues are true! Our home is 7 years old and their cleverly worded Warranty which gives them the ability and is completely set up for them to make excuses not to honor their touted warranty on their substandard Products. The vinyl aiding is degrading and they will not standard behind their products. Just horrible!!Review fromJames O

5 starsI have been in the roofing industry for 28 years and I actually have Certainteed Landmark shingles on my home. I have not ever seen a better shingle. Their shingles are very high-quality and durable. Their warranty is the best in the industry. The problem is not with the shingles, but with the contractors who install them improperly.. I know this beyond a shadow of doubt because a lot of contractors Do not care about quality or their customers but just care about the money theyre getting paid for the job. I know they stand behind their warranty and every time Ive ever called them they are very knowledgeable, professional, and empathetic. I have personally seen them bend over backwards to help customers. I highly recommend ******************** Shingles!Review fromJames W

I wouldn't buy anything from these charlatans. I sided my house with their cement composite siding. Within a couple of years it started cracking, sagging and falling off the house. They ignored my complaints and now I'm spending over $20,000 to reside my house. Stay away from Certainteed. They are not a competent or honest business.Certainteed Corporation

We built our home in 2013/14 and it was sided in July and August of 2014 using Certainteed ************ Siding. We started having a few issues but nothing major the first couple of years and it wasnt until late 2020 when we started to be really frustrated at the bowing, flaking, cracking, gapping and overall terrible product that was our entire home! We reached out to Certainteed to learn that there had been a class action lawsuit that just closed but we were never notified that we were included in the suit and it had since been closed. So our product was installed in the time period between the initial suit and finalization and were generally in a gray area, when that product never should have been sold knowing that it was currently in the class action process! We just recently had to reside our entire home at the cost of $93K, and it was only that low as our original installer felt horrible about how Certainteed responded that they gave us their cost on materials and just charged labor. What will Certainteed cover? $13K. To fully reside a 9 1/2 year old home. This is despicable, and dont think we didnt try to let Certainteed make it right. A few years ago we hired an attorney to allow Certainteed the opportunity to make right on their faulty product and they declined. We spent several thousand dollars on attorneys fees, just to try to remedy a problem on a product that was involved in a class action suit from the date of install. The morals of this company to sell such a product is knowing of its defect just to make money is the worst form of theft. We will never, ever, use another Certainteed or its parent companies product from here on out. We should never have been made to pay for the cost to remove and replace a product that we were sold to believe would last for many, many decades.Certainteed Corporation

First, I'm gonna state 2000 characters won't begin to touch how CertainTeed has done everything possible to clearly not make the Landmark *********** shingles installed on my Residence and Pool House good. They go so far, as to adamantly deny shingles even have an issue. I have comprised 350 of the absolute most unacceptable photographs you could imagine, as well they had contractor remove three tabs of shingles unbeknownst to me from my Residence. I would have been right on the ladder to witness the removal but was not even informed. When I was informed. I questioned where the three tested tabs were located? "THE FILE" in which I was told is not something in which I'm privileged? CertainTeed has spent nowhere near the time in which I have, as it's my hard-earned money. They make it so difficult it is utterly the WORST Company. I have a claim number, Email even with my Contractor stating the Shingles are DEFECTIVE, as well Georgia's State Rep stating I couldn't be issued a Warranty because the Shingles were defective. I'm offered a Settlement, but it won't touch what by law',m Legally entitled to under my Warranty. The contractor did not even complete my Job. My Residence sustained structural damages none of which have been compensated back to me. This Roof has to be removed from Main Residence and Pool House. The shingles look like they were pulled from a Dumpster. So 255 Bundles, but not one single Tab of Shingles was left. I will not settle with the Terms they have created so, as not to have to abide by my Sure Start Plus Warranty when a Corporation that big needs to just do the right thing. This cannot be overlooked too many consumers are being taken advantage of and I will not stop till I get Justice. I mean it is beyond the worst scenario you could ever imagine. I am going through all channels Georgia has in place to ensure that I'm NOT ANOTHER STATISTIC. I'm over being my OWN CONSUMER ADVOCATE. Cracked, torn, extensive granule loss can be seen under shingles.Certainteed Corporation

I couldnt agree more! CertainTeed is used in **************/ ***************, where I live. Please, buy from a Manufacturer that is ethical & actually manufactures a good product. My vinyl siding was installed 3/1/24, by the beginning of April we found defective breached siding on the right side of my home. Their product is crap! Only from pictures did they state its solar damage from the sun (in March) and my neighbors 40 year old windows reflection. They REFUSE to do anything, the Installer is just as despicable, taking Zero responsibility, after paying him 27K. Unbelievable!!!Certainteed Corporation

in September 2019 our new house was built and the Roofer used CertainTeed's Landmark shingles with the sure start warranty, the following summer I noticed extreme granulation loss and lots of cracked shingles, I contacted the Roofing company and the supply house, took lots of pictures and talked to CertainTeed to see what the next step was, started claim CR0880414 sent them everything that they requested and finally on 8/15/2023 they sent me an offer (they call it a release) that was about $3500.00 less than the labor to do the reroof, when I declined to sign stating that fact they asked for 3 additional estimates, as soon as the snows cleared I provided them the 3 estimates (median price of $13996.62) and they sent me another offer that was again a lot less than the estimated labor costs alone , when I questioned them again I received the following reply "The settlement for Landmark shingles covers the reasonable cost of labor to install and comparable shingles, starter, and hip and ridge, nothing more." so if I want my roof done correctly so it will not leak, it will cost me out of pocketCertainteed Corporation

We had our entire roof replaced six years ago (2018) with Certainteed Landmark shingles. The aggregate is prematurely falling off all the peeks. I contacted Certainteed to initiate a warranty claim. I discovered that Certainteed's requirements to submit a claim are completely unacceptable, complex and extremely difficult so as to discourage anyone from submitting a claim. I will never purchase Certainteed products again considering the poor shingle quality and all the other problems that others have experienced with Certainteed.Certainteed Corporation

I had certainteed shingles installed in August of 2023. Started noticing granual loss and filed a claim in September. Just found out 3 weeks ago it was approved after I had to constantly poke their reps When my roofer got the claims checks they are about half of what's required to replace a roof of my size in Houston Texas. I've tried calling multiple times and keep getting told their supervisor will call me back. This is absurd. I'm less than 2 months before my insurance drops me for not having a windstorm certified roof. I would have already had it if it wasn't for the granual loss holding up the certification. I should not be on the hook to pay 8k to make up the difference for a roof less than 1 year old. This was a manufacture defect and certainteed did agree hence the claim approval. But now they won't pay the reasonable amount to properly replace my roof. If someone from certainteed is listening I will gladly provide my claim number so I can resolve this issueCertainteed Corporation
