In February I purchased 3 overhead doors from Carter Lumber who subcontracted the purchase to Overhead Door of Toledo. After the original install, I had to call them back out because one of the hinges on a door was only half screwed down, the other side was just hanging loose. Also, all 3 doors the lock did not line up with the opening in the rail therefore I could not secure any of the doors. They had to move the lock to line up properly. Certainly something that could be overlooked but on all 3 doors ? Recently I noticed the center support for the door spring on one door was coming loose as the wood they screwed into was split. Obviously they did not pre-drill the holes and split the board driving the lags in. I checked the other doors and they were beginning to split also so again I had them out to repair this. They came out and moved the center support over a few inches to get into new wood and installed a piece of angle to hold the bearing support rather than replace the split wood and install it properly. The tech then went back and told his supervisor that whoever installed the door opener split the wood, not their install. I was obvious he was lying as you could see where he moved the bracket, and the original screw holes right in line with the split. I personally installed the door openers and I pre-drilled my screw holes so I know that I did not cause the split in the wood. Also during this repair, he broke the safety switch wire as now this door would not operate with the opener. Also, when he left he obviously did not check operation of the doors because he left the emergency release disconnected and neither door worked when we returned home. Once again I had them out to properly replace the wood that was split, and to repair the broken wire for the safety switch. They did replace the wood and reattach everything properly but still did not repair the safety switch they broke on the earlier trip. Very poor service ever.
