  I acquired a sum from death of brother. I am retired with a disability and am 77 years old. I was on welfare before all this. Wanted to build a tiny home. Knowing nothing about how to go about it I hired Duane from Timeless Timbers. I picked one out and he immediately put down a slab and delivered it to Massillon without tellling me because I told him I wanted to be there. Then I got a call from electricain wanting set of plans and building permit which I knew nothing about. I called Duane and he said there are no plans and no buiding permit needed. Then I got a summons to go to court for this. I trusted Duane and kept asking him what I needed to do next and he would always say he had it handled and I didnt need to do anything . He would handle it all. I had never done this before and knew nothing about rules, regs codes and such. It ended up that I would never be able to live there because it was put there without a permit. So he offered to give me back 90,000 and take it back which he did. Now I really have no money left for shed, garage gravel, landscaping etc let alone another place. I believe they make a practice of this and I would like all of my money back. He took advantage of me and refuses to give me a copy of the contract which I never got one in the first place. I believe he should at least have to give me a copy of the contact.

  *** ******* purchased a structure from us.  In the original contract it stays the customer is responsible for all permits and is the general contractor.  She reviewed this contract with her daughter before signing.  At signing she received her copy and made a payment. She had already hired a septic installer, talked with electric and water companys and started the project. This shows she is capable and was willing to be the general contractor for the project.  We installed a slab on grade for the structure.   We delivered the structure to her property.  Payment was received in full. *** ******* was very happy with the structure.  She later determined she was not allowed to put the structure on the property, because she did not get the proper permits.  Our end of the contract was fulfilled.   We did come to a solution.  *** signed an amendment to the original contract.  It states we would give her the majority of her money back and we would take the structure back. The amendment is attached and clearly states all matters are closed.

  I am informing BBB that the complainant has contacted the **** ******** ********* ****** and filed a complaint. I have responded with the **** ******** ******** Office. They have received the response along with a copy of the contract and addendum that *** has signed. Along with a copy of the Check and her signature of cashing.  The addendum clearly states "all matters are closed once the cabin is removed from property. (Which it has been). It also states, she owes us no money and also, we owe her no money. Case Closed. BBB needs to assess this complaint and also close this case and make the right call on publishing. I will no longer respond to this closed case.

  I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
  
  I signed contract without knowing anything about having to be a contractor, get building permit, draw up plans. Nothing was explained to me at all about how to go about this whole process. When I asked them for plans so that I could get a permit, they said there never were any plans.

  Therefore, I could not apply for permit according to ***** ******** *****. I was told there are no plans for prefab manufactured homes, therefore, no plans, no permit, no living in home. I feel that Duane should have worked it out with the county to come up with a solution for me. I didnt want them to take house back. I wanted to keep it. When he offered me a shady deal about him buying an rv and taking the vin number and putting it on my home to make it a trailer it scared me because I didnt want to get in trouble so I turned him down on that offer. That made him mad. Thats when he said he would have to take it back. I asked for more of a refund and he refused.

  I had no choice but to accept his offer then or I would have been homeless. I was supposed to be out of my duplex as of thanksgiving as landlord had sold it. I had no more money to buy anothe house to live in.
