On January 27 and February 14, 2023, BBB contacted the company regarding issues found on the company's twowebsites, featherman-services.business.siteand www.feathermanservices.com. The company was asked to modify,substantiate or discontinue the claims based on BBB's Code of Advertising.
1. BBB Accredited Business logo and BBB Torch logo present on bothcompany websites
The BBB AccreditedBusiness seal is a federally registered trademark owned by the InternationalAssociation of Better Business Bureaus, Inc. (IABBB). The mark may only be usedin limited ways by authorized users that have entered into a licensingagreement with the BBB, and may not be used in any manner that conveyssponsorship or approval. Our records indicated Featherman Services LLC wasnot affiliated with our BBB or any other BBB at that time and was asked toimmediately remove the BBB Accredited Business seal from both company websitesand any other advertising where he may be referring to the Better BusinessBureau.
2. “100% CustomerSatisfaction”
section of the BBB’s Code of Advertising states, (20.2)advertisers should only use “satisfaction guarantee,” “money back guarantee,”or similar representations in advertising if the seller or manufacturer refundsthe full purchase price of the advertised product or service at the consumer'srequest. (20.3) When “satisfaction guarantee” or similar representations areused in advertising, any material limitations or conditions that apply to theguarantee must be clearly and conspicuously disclosed.
BBB asked if the company refunds the full purchaseprice of the advertised service at the consumer's request. If the company doesstand by a satisfaction guarantee, up to a full refund, BBB recommended addingany material limitations or conditions that apply to their satisfactionguarantee, clearly and conspicuously, to the company website for consumerreview. If the company does not wish to include a satisfaction guarantee up toand including a full refund, BBB recommended modifying the website to notinclude any statements with “100% Customer Satisfaction”.The company responded to BBB, but did not modify the websites.
As of May 17, 2023, the company removed the BBB AccreditedBusiness logo from www.feathermanservices.com.
As of July 27, 2023, the company removed the remaining BBB Accredited Business logos from their company website.
