I paid for a home inspection on April 13th and closed on the home on May 13th. The inspector claimed he didn’t find anything wrong with the attic or crawl space but after the first night of staying in the home I heard raccoons in the attic. I contacted ***** who came out and completed their own home inspection. During that inspection they found 2 giant holes in the attic that appeared to have been there previously and tons of animal poop which had been there a long time. He also found standing water in the crawl space and water damage from a leaking door. He said the leak had been there for a while because it had caused a hole in the ceiling which should have been caught during the home inspection. None of these issues were caught or told to me during my initial inspection. I am now having to pay $7000 to have the raccoons removed, holes repaired, insulation removed, attic cleaned and sanitized and new insulation put in the attic. This doesn’t even begin to fix the crawl space. If I had been told about these major issues during the initial home inspection I would not have purchased the home. The inspector from ***** was here longer doing their inspection than the brickkicker inspector originally. I am requesting to have this issue resolved.

    Business Response

The client did not provide us an opportunity to review the findings. The client has never phoned us just sent us an email. When we did not respond back within 5 days, she files complaint with you. However, we have sent the client by email on June 9, 2022 our company Release of Liability Statement for their signature. Once signed and returned us, we will provide them the refund as requested. In addition, we have offered to include the additional fee paid during our inspection for the termite inspection. The client did not request this from us. We are waiting on the client response.
