Paul Crego Sr came to my door and give me information on his tree company. They were hired by me to remove a tree and the stump from my front yard. The tree removal was started 6/28/23 for $600 as discussed. The rest of payment ($175) was to be done on completion. 6/29 they returned to remove the rest of the wood from the first tree, leave some chopped for firewood, and also remove one hedge and another tree including their stumps for an additional $375 as discussed the day before as an add on. Rest of payment for both jobs was made via Venmo as I was at work. Upon return from work I noted a large pile of wood in the driveway left for firewood but not chopped, and all stumps intact. After talking on the phone they said they were coming with the “stumper” on Saturday 7/1/23 to finish the job. I stated I would not be home and they said that would be fine, but I must pay the additional $275 for the larger stump to be removed in advance. I stated I was uncomfortable with this and would prefer to pay after. After a long discussion I agreed and paid the rest since I wouldn’t be home when they came to do the job. They never returned and have stopped answering my calls. Initially they were responsive and apologetic, saying they would get to me as soon as possible and were backed up with jobs. They now yield my calls, texts and emails.
