    On August 5, 2022 Field of Dreams came out to my property to do a small landscaping project. Owner has come prior to the job and sketched out a drawing and gave me an estimate of $2500. Upon completion of the job the price had jumped $526.00. I mentioned to him the price that he had quoted me and wrote the check for $3026.00. Through text messaging I told him I was happy with the work done but disappointed about the big difference in price. He had asked to see a copy of the estimate which he knew he had not given me - it was all drawn on his pad of paper. Upon completion of the job he had cracked a stepping stone and told me he would replace within the next few days because I was having a party that weekend. It took him 2 weeks to replace - He planted 6 plants in the landscaping - told me the cost of the plants had increased as well as needing more stone. I worked at a stone quarry for 15 years and know the price of the material. Both items did not warrant a $500 increase in his estimate.

    In my original statement I disclosed that fact that business owner came to my residence and made a drawing, took measurements, etc.  That is when he gave me a price of $2500.00.  He did not give me a copy of his drawings nad measurements.  When I texted him about the disappoint of price difference he did ask me for a copy of his estimate which he knew he did not give me.

    In a text message he states: "I apologize I didn't think it was off that much in pricing.  Will you send me a picture of the bill I gave you and the initial quote because maybe I added wrong.  We did have extra ton of riverock and pavers and I think the plants were a little bit of a price difference but I didn't think it was $600 off.  I might owe you money"  "I want to make it right as well I'm not in the business of ripping people off but I am human and I make mistakes."

    This message tells me that he knew he over charged me but cashed the check and I haven't heard a word back from him.  

    Just want to put it out there if this business does work for you make sure you get a written estimate the day he comes out - otherwise you will get extra charges added.  I understand it could be $100-$200 off but over $500 is a little out of range.
