On 12/07/21 I went to Dr. ****** with a badly decaying tooth he had put a temporary filing in on Feb. 2021, a tooth that was under my fixed bridge. He stated he couldn't save the tooth. I told him to pull the tooth & make a partial plate for 5 teeth. He gave me a price of $1500 but said he would not guarantee it, he wanted to do a new fixed bridge for $10,000. Being elderly living only on Soc.Sec I told him a fixed bridge was not possible. An assistant, asked if I wanted to get started with the bridge now. I told her I was taking out extra dental insurance the first of the year, but she said we could still get started now as the ex-rays would be needed to send to the insurance company for approval. So assuming the ex-rays would naturally be included in his price, I agreed. She took a panoramic ex-ray on 12/07/21. (In talking to my dental ins. I know they sent their refusal to pay letter out on 12/20/21 to Dr. ******. On 12/29/21 I had an appt. for my twice a yr. cleaning. Another appt was made for 01/26/22 to start impressions giving enough time for ins. approval. At that appt, I was told the ex-rays were not paid for, I needed to pay for them NOW. I asked WHY I was just now being told (said they didn't know the insur.co. refused) but the ins.co stated the refusal letter was sent on 12/20/22),was told they NEVER turned the ex-rays into the insur. co. for approval. I could not proceed until my insurs approved the partial. I told them I DIDN'T have the money that day, asked to talk to Dr. ******, but sat there until I left in tears. On 1/30/22 I called Kelly, Off Mgr, told her I had the money to PAY, but she said she had to talk to Dr. ****** first to make sure he wanted to continue. I waited for 3 wks for her call back or letter sitting with this severely decayed tooth, but never heard anything. I had to find another dentist to help me. Now they're turning the bill into collections. Not right or very decent way to treat a 10-12 yr patient. This office does not rate A+
