I contacted **** DeRemer in early July to have some limbs trimmed. He completed about three quarters of the job in the first few days but left large piles of limbs and brush lying in the yard and against my fence. One of the limbs broke a picket in the fence when it fell. He came to my home on 7/16/22 and asked that the bill be paid in full, even though not all of the work had been completed, explaining that he needed the money and would return in the near future to finish the job. That was the last time I saw him. While his excuses for not returning to finish the job in a timely manner were legitimate and understandable, they kept piling up. I have sent him many texts since then, asking when and if he plans to return. He eventually replied, stating that he would finish the work on 9/10/22. That day came, but he did not. I sent additional texts but did not hear back from him until I suggested that he give me a partial refund so I could hire a more reliable company to finish the job. He replied on 9/28/22, stating that he had been sent to Florida to help with the recovery from the storm there. I texted him again on 10/21/22, asking if he had returned from Florida yet, and he replied that he had and added that he would finish the work on 11/1/22. Again, he did not show or contact me. I sent him a text that day, telling him that I expect a $250.00 refund due to the length of time this job has taken and the fact that I had to cut and clean up the limbs and brush he left lying in the yard and fix the broken fence. Even after all that is done, there is still a limb hanging near one corner of my home that was never cut, despite the invoice he provided stating “DeRemer’s tree service is obligated to remove a lead off mr *****’s cherry tree and flatten brush in tree and to replace white screw on fence”. As of the date of this review, he has not responded to my last text or provided the requested refund.
