    I contacted several plumbing companies by phone, requesting a quote to repair a gas leak. I spoke with Cindy, the secretary, who stated a trip charge of $59 and $158/hr for repairs. I scheduled an appointment for July 5, 2022, at 9 a.m. On July 5, two plumbers arrived from Complete Plumbing. They accessed and found the leak within 15-20 minutes. Gas lines would not hold pressure for 10 minutes. Gas leaks were found at the merchant coupling on the second floor, 1" x 1/2" tee, and 1/2" close for the furnace line. The lines were disassembled, merchant coupling was removed and proper coupling installed, and leaks were repaired. Gas lines held 10-14 psi and held pressure for 10 minutes. The cost of materials amounted to $23.50, and the labor charge was $671.50. After receiving my receipt, I was horrified to learn that I was charged for each plumber separately. I was not informed before repairing the leaks that I would be charged per Plummer; otherwise, I would have declined the repair. I was also charged until the plumbers left the parking lot, not when the job ended, and the leaks were repaired. I questioned the bill with the Plummer, and he apologized for the miscommunication. On July 6, 2022, Cindy called me and informed me that the appointment time was at 9:30 a.m. The inspector/code enforcer called me at 9:43 a.m. to inform me that everything had passed. The Plummer called me after that and informed me that my charges were $229, which I also questioned. I called the office and ask to speak with the owner, and he was not in. Cindy asked me what my concerns were, and she apologized for failing to tell me that I would be charged per Plummer and that it works out better for the customer. Otherwise, the job would have taken double the time. She also stated that the Plummers have to set up before the inspector arrives and that it takes 45 mins; therefore, I was charged from the time of set up and not the time of the appointment with the inspector.
