I had new parts put on the front end of my trailblazer and took it to Tuffy in July for an alignment. The did not do the job right and now my tires that I just got in February are ruined. They never told me when I picked up my car that there could be problems, but when I got a call back from them they try to tell me that the camber could not be adjusted even though it can be on my model. They also tried to say some frame rot is the cause of it, but the rot is not in a location that would cause this. They first tried to offer me to replace the tires at their cost of $360. I didn't think this was a good offer because I just paid for these tires. After going to the shop to talk in person the at cost changed to $290. Why was it not $290 the first time? My offer was to pay for one tire and they pay for the other tire and I take them and have all the work done elsewhere. They have not responded back to me.

I have not heard from tuffy, but I am willing to pay for one tire if they pay for the other.

    To whom it may concern:

The Tuffy location in Lewis Center Ohio did complete an alignment for Mr. ***** on 7/3/24.  I have attached a screenshot showing the toe for the alignment was dialed in.  Alignments fall under Preventative Maintenance and are not guaranteed with any warranty.  Alignments can be knocked out of alignment by hitting a pot hole or bump the wrong way among other things.  Even thought Tuffy did this alignment properly, we offered to provide two new tires at our cost on the basis of client satisfaction.  The price did change as the initial price factored in paying an employee to do the job.  That was not something Mr. ***** would accept so we went to our cost of doing the job without compensating an employee to do the work.  We believe in taking care of our clients and feel this offer goes above and beyond what should be expected in this scenario.  This was not sufficient for Mr. ************ We have extended our best offer to Mr. ****** which was $290.74.  This includes two tires at our cost, not charging Mr. ***** for the mount and balancing nor the tire disposal fee.  It also does not include compensating an employee for the work done.  It also includes a free alignment.  It is a very fair and extremely reasonable deal to extend on the basis of client satisfaction when we were not at fault and we are trying to take care of our client.  It is unfortunate that Mr. ***** was not willing to accept our offer and escalated things needlessly.  **************** is willing to accept our offer, we do consider this matter closed.

[If you do not say why you are rejecting the company's response, BBB must close your complaint.]

    Complaint: 22556174

I am rejecting this response because:

This is not an acceptable offer when these were new tires and their work is the cause of failure. I should not have to buy the same tires in the same year for something that is not my fault. But I am willing to buy one tire at their cost and they pay for the other tire. They do not have to do any of the work as in mounting and balance, or alignment. All they have to do is give me the tires and I will have the work done somewhere else on my expense.
