I took my van to Larges in March. They were going to look at my engine to see if they could fix my van. I was having issues it wouldn't start and I was told by another mechanic it was my timing belt. Larges refused to look into the problem because when they got around to looking at my engine that was already being taken apart to fix that issue. There was a broken bolt on my engine block. So in the refusal to try to fix this engine I had to get a new one. They said they would look for one. I waited and waited on a price. Didn't get one so I found a used engine and had it sent there. Waiting till May to get my van back. They took that long to get my engine in. When I picked it up I didn't make it our of town even because it wouldn't go over 50 mph. I went back and had to turn around and pay them to put a radiator in my van to be able to drive it home. I believe they cracked it putting engine in. Lots of things ended up being wrong following taking it home. My purge valve code came out for my engine. It wasn't even connected My windshield wipers were incorrectly installed from where they removed them to put my engine in and would not turn on st all. My exhaust manifold was only hand tightened and while driving down the road it made its way loose and lost 1 bolt and the other barely held on. Many bolts were missing all over my engine that helped mount it. The air filter also wasn't mounted correctly. All of these issues I had fixed at another shop and had to pay to fix. Then I was driving down the highway and my wheel snapped off. The nut was in tact on the only bolt we found when we found my tire across the highway. All 5 bolts snapped at my hub. My new mechanic said the bolt showed 2 markings. 1 previous break where it appears in his opinion to have been over torqued. And a 2nd where it snapped on highway. They said while doing engine replacements wheels are removed to access the engine. They said larges could be responsible for damages. I want reimbursement.

**** **** came to my shop, Large's in Kenton, Ohio to have an engine replaced on her daughter's (******* ****) 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan with Tag # *******, VIN # *****************. The total amount of the client's bill was $1,956.18. The client, ******* ****, paid $1,300.00 via credit card transaction on 5/8/2024, as well as $380 cash, and $276.18 via another credit card; please see attached receipts with client ******* ****'s signature. This morning on 7/25/2024, I was notified via my bank account that one credit card transaction was disputed by the client in the amount of $1,112.31. The client, ******* ****, nor her mother, **** **** has made a complaint with my business or myself on the repair of her vehicle.

The client did come to my shop some time prior to 5/8/2024 stating that she needed help fixing her van and that her "boyfriend" had been attempting to fix it himself. The client's van was towed to my shop and the engine was noted to be torn apart upon arrival. I explained to the client that I was not comfortable fixing her van unless we did a complete engine swap due to the engine having missing parts. I told client that I could get an engine for her for x amount of dollars and the client ultimately decided to buy her own engine for me to put in. Once I began working on her van, I then noticed there were missing parts on the van itself, so I then explained to the client that the van itself had missing parts and that she would need to follow up with her boyfriend to put these missing parts back on or replace those parts.

******* ****'s mother, **** ****, was the one who referred her daughter to Large's for her repairs and **** was subsequently the one who was contacted through all of this for updates per ****'s request. I called and spoke with client's mother **** **** on this matter this morning. **** stated that the windshield wipers were not hooked up and that there was something else that was not hooked up, and I then reminded **** that I had already explained to them prior to working on the van that there were parts already missing when the van was towed in and that they would need to ask client's boyfriend where these parts were or find these parts to get them replaced, and that the windshield wipers had nothing to do with an engine replacement.

The job that I was hired to do was to replace an engine. I did that job satisfactorily, and I feel that her taking the money back that she paid me for is fraud. Therefore, I dispute this.

    Sincerely,
    **** *******, Large's

I had to pay to have my van fixed because my engine he put it in was not hooked up correctly. The wipers were removed and not put on properly. Worked when I dropped of and not when I left. My tires we over torqued and I had an accident and wrecked my van on July 3rd. The bolts were over torqued at hub and my tire snapped off. Then the complaint of them breaking my radiator in the fix and I had to pay to fix it.
