I have been coming to this vet for years but will now never be returning after my previous visit. I took my cat to be checked out and do not feel like he was properly treated. My cat gets scared when going to the vet and this place doesn't know how to properly handle it. The vet technician did not seem to know how to deal with a scared pet. I only wish that I had seen a review like this before I took my pet in.

We had been taking our dog and cat to Memorial for the last couple years or so, for shots, flea meds, routine visits. Up to this point, we were reasonably satisfied. HOWEVER, several months ago they suggested that *****, our 5 year old Aussie get a routine teeth cleaning. So we had it done less than a month ago. I dropped her off in the morning, and when I got the call in the afternoon to pick her up, I WAS SHOCKED!! They told me that THEY PULLED OUT 7 OF HER TEETH. From their explanation, pulling out the 1 top tooth in the back seemed necessary, but pulling out ALL SIX of her front bottom teeth between her canines? Really? To us, their reasons for doing it were flimsy at best. A few days later, my wife spoke to the person who had made the decision to pull her teeth out…….seriously HOPING to hear one SOLID reason to convince us that this was necessary to do this to my dog. It never came. Supposedly, it won’t affect her, don’t really need them anyways. Now, even if someone, for whatever reason felt this was necessary, wouldn’t you think a simple phone call would be in order, consulting us first, before doing this? Here’s where the old classic blame shifting comes into play. I guess when I dropped her off, I should have had it noted on her chart to call us first, before they just start pulling teeth out. I never in a million years, would have thought that I would have had to specifically say that, especially on a routine teeth cleaning! I’ve yet to talk to one person who isn’t shocked that this happened. They had never heard of such a thing! Obviously, we aren’t going back to Memorial, and she’s not getting her teeth back, but maybe there is a lesson to be learned. Wanted to share this experience, hopefully save someone else some unnecessary grief.

I hade an appointment for 1 of my cats for Tuesday, went to the appointment no problems. I had also made an appointment during the same phone call I made the Tuesday appointment for Friday for 2 other cats, one is feral enough to need medication to catch cage and transport it. I got there and was informed that I don't have an appointment for any cats. When they asked my last name they then informed me that I have 1 appointment for the cat named Squeeky - which is the cat I brought in on Tuesday. Why would I make 2 appointments for the same cat for the same shots in 1 week? But of course this was not their fault according to them, And I was being unreasonable to want both may cats that were extremely stressed out, to be seen by their vet because they had several emergencies during the day and didn't have time to see both of my cats however I could chose 1 to see the vet. SO evidently calling and making appointments for your pets doesn't guarantee your pets will be seen and you put them thru all that stress for no reason. The incompetency of the front office is unbelievable, and my cats will be going to another clinic.
