We asked for our tree to be trimmed so it did not hit the roof and ruin it. We asked for maybe six limbs. The estimate said rungs… they are the professional tree people! When they came, the workers said hello and asked if that was the tree. My husband said yes. When he went out to see what was going on, they were gone. No bye. No we are done. I was in TN helping with my twins due to a death in the family. I came home to see what is in the picture I attached. This WAS the most beautiful tree in the neighborhood and now it looks like a palm tree or a lollipop! It will likely bring down the value of our home as we are readying it to sell. We have talked three times with Mr ****** and his crew chief. Both agreed it didn’t look good and was not their best work. However they are insisting on the full $900 or will take us to court. They trimmed 2 limbs off our back elm tree, too. We are willing to pay. $100 for the elm. But not for the butchering on the evergreen. It was 45-50 feet. Can’t be replaced or fixed. Likely we will need to cut it down totally. The only middle ground I see is not to pay the bill.

    Business Response

The Sales person has been doing this same position for 30 + years for our family tree business. We gave a written proposal for what was to be done, they had a copy, the customer agreed. We called this customer the night before to make sure they would be home. The crew leader 30 + years at the same position, again discussed with Mr. ******** before they even cut one branch that morning. They cut exactly what was written, as they should. They were to finish that job and move on to the next, as they did. I'm not sure where Mr. ******** was while the tree was being trimmed, but that is why we make sure the owner is home. We would have been happy to wait if Mrs. ******** if needed to be there. We would of been happy to change the original plan. No one said anything until 3 days later when it was too late. We are sorry that they are not happy with the tree,

I am willing to reduce the invoice $300 or take it down for free. But everything was done per the estimate and the customer was there.

    Thank You,

    Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

We choose the $300 decrease and I will send the check for payment tomorrow Nov. 22, 2023.

Please let the business know I was not in town when the work was done. I was in TN helping with grandchildren after the tragic death of their uncle in a horrific traffic accident.

    Sincerely,
