Avoid at all costs. ********, the owner, messed up my car and then told me "if you want to know what's wrong with it, that'll cost $100" (yes, he meant just for the information, even though he'd already botched a repair)---I took my car here because this was the only place open on Sundays. My car wouldn't start most of the time. I thought the starter was the issue, since lights/electric were working fine.********, the owner, tells me it's my battery. He holds a tester to the battery and shows that it's below average. I didn't think it made much sense as the root of the problem, but he insisted, and I paid nearly $300 for a battery for a civic! (AAA has better batteries for around $150, but I wanted the car fixed ASAP)Car seemed fine. I take it home. Gonna drive to dinner that Sunday night. Car doesn't start. Discount Auto Repair is closed.Call them in the morning. Says he'll take a look. Says "yeah it was both your starter and your battery, that's what I was trying to tell you." Hmm. Well, he offered me replacing starter for $400 including labor, which is about $200 cheaper than *******. not bad.I get starter replaced. Car works. Then a week later, when I try to start it, there is a weird grinding noise so I take my key out. Try once again, and it started normally. Then, for the next month or so, it does that once every ***** times making a grinding noise. Finally it gets so bad I know I can't ignore it. I take it to *******, guys that I trust more. They tell me "This is a bad part, go back to Discount Auto Repair, you should have a warranty on it and he should replace it for free. Else you're paying $600 with us."I reluctantly come back to ********, and he replaces the starter (which I then learned was a refab part) with another refab starter. Then what ******** tells me is that "look, the last starter was fine. this starter is fine. But that's not what's wrong with the car. But I just replaced your starter for free for no reason. So if you want me
