9/9/22 I had electrical outlets installed. Thai the company owner has done multiple jobs for me without incident. This day he seemed distracted and he seemed to be grt lots of texts/calls. He was paid upon completion of the job. I contacted him about 10 days later advising newly installed outlet wasn't working. He scheduled a day y o come back but didn't show when texted he apologized and would reschedule the next time I waited didn't hear from. him by 2pm so texted him and stated he was sick, then his truck was down and his wife had totaled her car. I advised him I would be returning to working in the office soon and I would need the work done soon. Since didn't hear back I texted and told him the reasonable thing to do would be to return half the money, he replied give me an amount which I texted back to him and have heard nothing since. My bank advised me to file complaint with you, the ******** ******** ****** and if I wanted to could also take him to Small claims court. So I am starting with hoping to get resolution to this situation.

Buyer Beware… I hired Gibson's Residential Electrical Services, LLC to replace outdoor light fixtures and fix a dead outdoor outlet. ****, the owner, came to my home and gave me a quote. After multiple scheduling issues with him, he finally came and did the work. First, he replaced my post light. In doing so, he snapped a piece of the post in half and tried to hide it. When I asked him what happened to the post and how it got broken, he said that he wasn’t aware of it. Then, when I told him that I viewed the video from my camera, it clearly shows him breaking it. Then, he admitted that he had lied, but never offered to make it right. I had to request the money to replace the piece. The light itself was installed backwards and missing a screw, so it does not sit properly. He unnecessarily drilled a hole in the light post itself. Again, after viewing the video, he clearly says there is a screw missing and leaves it that way crooked on the post. Finally, during the estimate he told me that for $75 he would fix the outside outlet. I paid him the $75 and he told me that he has no idea what’s wrong with it, and can’t get it to work but still expected payment as a troubleshooting fee, even though he couldn’t troubleshoot it. I feel completely taken by this guy. He knew the reason I hired him was because my husband is battling cancer and currently going through chemo and cannot do this work himself. I feel that he took advantage. When I brought all of these issues up to him he did nothing to try to make it right, and would not even come back to fix the light. He basically told me that when I hired him for another job, he would come back and fix it. I would normally never make a post like this, but I truly feel like this guy is not a professional, and I hope no one else has the same experience I did. He offered no solutions when I brought the issues to his attention, took my money, and all he could say was I apologize after being caught in lies.

Ma’am I already paid for the piece that I broke I sent you that immediately when you asked me to., Other than that I think we did some pretty good work.I’m sorry that we had a bad experience. I hope your husband is feeling better in my prayers and thoughts are with him, as I told you as I left your house. So I am not trying to get over on you or your husband that couldn’t do it himself because he’s fighting chemo. And a $275 job is nothing for me to get over on. I wish you would address these issues in a more kindly manner and maybe we could have resolve this issue. I told you I would come back out and fix the light that was obviously a faulty light because we could not get our screw holes to line up.

[If you do not say why you are rejecting the company's response, BBB must close your complaint.]

    Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because: First of all, you are a dishonest and unethical business owner. You have zero integrity when it comes to doing the right thing. Had you been honest and upfront with me about breaking the lamp post piece none of this would be happening. The fact that I gave you the chance to tell me the truth, and you chose to lie shows how much integrity you have as a person. That is why I have chosen to warn others about your business practices. When people hire an electrician, they are hoping that person is honest and trustworthy when they are dealing with electrical issues in their home. If you are capable of lying to a customer about some thing as trivial as a piece of plastic, what else are you capable of lying about?  I had already explained to you, had you been honest and upfront with me I would have had no issue with that piece being broken. But the fact is that I had to tell you I had camera footage of what you did before you admitted to it.  Again, that truly shows how much integrity you have as a business owner. Secondly, you had already been made aware that the outlet that you told me would cost $75 to fix, not troubleshoot, during the appointment that you gave the estimate had already been switched out with a brand new outlet and that was not the problem. We told you upfront that it had no power. So for you to tell me that you troubleshooted it to tell me, there was no power makes no sense. That had already been established before you came to fix it and you were made aware of that. You had no idea how to fix it and I still had to pay you $75 to tell me what I already knew was wrong with it. Now I have to pay a real electrician to come do the work that you didn’t know how to do. there’s absolutely no reason for that outlet to be made a GFI according to an actual licensed electrician. As far as me being “kind”, I feel that I was more than kind to you and gave you the opportunity to make things right and you chose not to. I should not have had to ask for the money to fix the piece that you broke. If you had integrity, you would’ve offered that right upfront and not try to hide what you did. Just like breaking the outlet face plate that you covered with my wall air freshener, instead of telling me about it. For you to make the situation right, when I notified you right after you pulled out of my neighborhood that there were issues with the light fixture, and that I found out that you broke a piece of the light, you should have come back and made it right. You chose not to. You chose to not do the right thing. An apology with no attempt to resolve the issue is worthless. An apology after I already caught you in a lie is even more worthless.

    Regards,
