      On December 15th, 2022, ***** ******, of Next Step, LLC, performed an inspection on a property, that I went under contract to buy. The cost was 335.00 for this inspection. After the inspection, ***** and I walked the property. When we got to the HVAC unit, ***** stood right next to it, the furnace part, he pointed down to the access panel on the unit and stated that the air filter is located within the unit. That all I had to do was unscrew the panel to routinely change out the filter. This was not the case, and in fact, there was no filter casing within the furnace- or within the air handler attached to the unit all all. No indication that a filter has ever been in the unit or anywhere within the whole hvac unit. How i know, is, after moving in, I went to check and change the filter, and there no place for a filter to go. I reached out to Kevin, he told me that there was indeed a filter compartment within it. That it has slots and a spring that the filter goes in. After thoroughly inspecting the unit, once again, plus an hvac company inspecting it, there is no such compartment. I called ***** once again, and he ignored my calls and my voicemail. Knowing that the unit needed a filter compartment added, before I closed on the house, would have allowed me to add this to the list for the sellers to take care of. Also, the gas meter, which he took pictures of, as part of the inspection is right next to the AC condenser, and is not code. ***** did not notate this code violation. Finely, a major line from the condenser that goes in the home to main hvac unit is bent and makes the unit unusable. There were several other very noticeable issues that were not caught and/or neglected to be looked at during the inspection. However, the issues i have pointed out have cost me a lot of money to address and should not have if ***** had checked.. ***** did not tell the truth regarding the filter compartment. He lied not once but twice. He did not look into the panel at all.

      Upon reviewing the complaint, I sent and email to the customer snd refunded her credit card the cost of the inspection. The amount of $335 was refunded to the clients credit card on April 19th.
