  • Pending Government Action:
Government Action: BBB reports on known government actions involving business’ marketplace conduct:
State of Ohio v Central Tobacco and Stuff, Inc. Delaware County Common Please Court 24-CVH -070774

The following describes a pending government action that has been formally brought by a government agency but has not yet been resolved. We are providing a summary of the governments allegations, which have not yet been proven.

On July 9, 2024 the Ohio Attorney General's Office filed a civil lawsuit in Delaware County Common Pleas Court against defendant Central Tobacco And Stuff, Inc.

The lawsuit alleges the business committed unfair or deceptive practices in violation of the state Consumer Sales Practices Act by selling illegal vapes, failing to disclose the illegality of those products, and misrepresenting their authorization status.

The state is asking that the court to permanently prohibit the business from offering for sale or selling disposable electronic nicotine delivery systems, commonly known as vaping products, to prohibit the business from engaging in any consumer transactions as a supplier in Ohio until such time as any monetary obligations ordered by the court have been satisfied, to a civil penalty of up to $25,000 for each violation of the Consumer Sales Practices Act.

    The matter is pending.
