6/8/2018 had my 1996 impala SS towed in for a transmission rebuild. I asked for beefed up internals to handle up to 500hp. 6-21-2023 I started losing power in 4th gear. Took it to AZ transmission where I originally got it rebuilt. So apparently what I got was a weak transmission, that has too many electrical issues that now the shop that rebuilt it refuses to touch it. Has too many issues the shop mechanic mentioned. Same shop name but different workers and mechanics. I paid $2144.43 for what I thought was a performance transmission with performance stall and internals. Turns out the transmission isn’t electrical wired correctly and can’t handle what the engine produced.

We would like to be as transparent as possible for everyone on this. First and foremost the previous owners we have absolutely nothing to deal with the old owner TIM has passed away . When we acquired the property we rented the building the building was established as a transmission rebuild shop already with the building came the phone number attached. People know the phone number as a transmission repair facility so we opened a DBA close to the name prior which was AZ Transmission Re-builders our DBA name is A2Z Transmissions. As far as the complaint is concerned the customer brought his vehicle here for a diagnostic on his transmission for not shifting properly. The customer did in fact show us the prior owners estimate as shown here it states estimate on the top right corner. We understood the customers concerns regarding his vehicle and did inspect the vehicle per his request which we charge 89.99 plus shop fees and supplies plus sales tax as he signed and acknowledged. Our inspection proved the transmission needed inspected internally which would require a tear down estimate. We opted to not work on this vehicle for many many safety reasons a lot of lines rubbing the exhaust, oil leaks, the frame is bent in many places we determined for our peace of mind it was best to refuse to work on this vehicle due to the many issues. The customer paid the inspection fee and our manager decided to refund the customer his inspection charge back even though we were not liable for anything regarding this vehicle it was simply our choice to refuse to work on the vehicle. If the customer did in fact get his transmission rebuilt with performance parts in 2018 like the estimate says the warranty would not stand as most rebuilds in this industry at that time came with a 1 year or 12,000 mile warranty and most do to this day as well our warranty is 18 month 18,000 mile warranty on rebuilds. PERFORMANCE BUILDS HAVE NO WARRANTY we don't offer performance rebuilds because they are abused and neglected. We can not speak for the prior owners and there warranty options on performance builds or anything for that matter as we are not associated with them. Our conclusion to this matter since it was a situation with the prior business was to simply refuse to get involved and refund the customer his money even though he knew we was not associated with the prior business. We are not sure why we are involved in this matter for being he claimed it was rebuilt for performance reasons in 2018 this is 2023 5 years later I'm quite sure it would not have any warranty at all and there would be no way but to remove the transmission from the car and do a tear down to prove if any performance parts were installed into the unit. We wold ask the BBB to consider not posting this complaint which holds no water with our company to our profile and also see attached all signed documents for our check in process his payment and refund we have done already thank you!
