Jason L****** from Korman Construction came to my home after water damage to give me an estimate for repairs. I explained to him that Fairfield County Utilities was at fault because their main sewer line was completely full of water and my waste water could not exit into it. On April 18, 2022 Fairfield County Utilities sent a pumper truck and within 2 minutes of clearing the BLOCKAGE all the water in my basement was gone. Steve the pumper truck operator came to my door and said the blockage was caused by a 12 to 18 inch tree root. After explaining all this to Jason L****** he completed his estimate, left my home, and told ****** ********* ******* that the damage was caused by a backup which was a complete lie. I know he did this because I have a letter from ****** ********* stating that Jason L****** told them it was a water backup. The Property Loss Research Bureau states there is a clear difference between a blockage and a backup. Korman Construction Company obviously does not know the difference and should be held accountable.

Jason did arrive onsite as noted by the customer and he explained the cause of the damages being a blockage in the city's line at the manhole across the street causing the water to backup into his basement. Jason then asked if his insurance company discussed any limited coverage he may which he said they did not. He wanted to make sure they would be able to have the funds for the repair costs as many times there is limit such as $5000, $10,000, etc. for these types of losses and he had already incurred cleanup costs. Jason contacted ****** ********* ******* while onsite with the customer in the home, with his permission, to discuss his coverages and make sure everything was okay to move forward, but the actual adjuster was not available so he left a message to have the assigned adjuster contact him back. Eventually, ****** did return the call to him and Jason explained to the adjuster what the customer had told him and apparently ****** decided he did only have limited coverage for the loss. All Jason did was relay the information given by the customer to the insurance company, how they chose to handle that information and the investigation they completed is between the customer and the insurance company, not Korman Construction. It is our hope that they did complete and thorough investigation into the cause of the damage and the policy coverages and handled the claim accordingly. We act with honesty and integrity in everything that we do as a company and hopefully that is what is shown by these events.

    Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because: Either Jason or his boss is lying again about this matter. I am sending a letter From ****** ********* stating that Korman Construction Co. reported to them on April 19, 2022 that the damage to my home was caused by a backup not a Blockage.

    Regards,
