Do not make the choice to put a loved one in ***************************** (located in ************************, OH). My mom was transferred from their sister-rehab facility to *********** who is handling her ******** application. It has been 14 mths and she still hasn't been approved. I have tried calling ******** to obtain information about the holdup but was told I could not obtain that information. There has been high turnover in their business office and have dealt with 3 different employees. I was told once she is approved, it goes retroactive for previous months of her stay. Apparently not true - Atrium Centers (which is their corporate headquarters) hired an attorney to send an invoice in my mom's name to her home for $80,000. I discovered on the ************************************ website of families reaching out to them for assistance as there are many reports of this exact situation documented. These nursing homes conveniently do not communicate that while a loved one is ******** pending, private pay for the facility is accumulating during that time. NO ONE in their business office alerted me of this. I specifically needed a ******** facility to transfer my mom to CLEARLY because she can not afford the cost of a private pay facility. I had written an email after she was denied the first time that we would bring her home. Still no communication about private pay. Its intentional on the part of these nursing homes. My mom doesn't have $80,000, and even if she did and could afford the cost of private pay, we would not choose ***********. Low staffing so residents don't get much attention, the phone continuously rings when calling the facility (on numerous occasions), and no answers when I asked about her bruises on her hands/arms. And upon further research, *********** is on a watch list website for abusing residents (NursingHomeAbuseAdvocate.com) and has poor ratings on other investigational websites such as ******************************
