I paid this contracor $4400.00 to re-do a smal ceramic tile shower and they set one wall wrong which left a gap at the bottom of the wall close to the showr pan. I was willing to accept a fix to the problem by allowing samller peices of tile to be placed and grouted and was promised 6 times (text messages ) they would finish My check cleared the bank on July 31 st 2024 and Augts 1 st(cancellled checks) and recipts from the contractor. At this point Im not sure I trusst them to finish so I would like my money back so I can hire someone to Finish. This is only a ********** home but it takes equity.

    Business Response

Hello, we appreciate your feedback and wanted to follow up with you regarding this matter. As previously discussed at the property, the initial plan was to install a new shower pan after the tile installation. However, after the tile was installed, you (****) decided to reuse the old shower pan, citing that new plumbing would be required. You declined the necessary services and requested the installation of the original shower pan. (Gap shown in photo provided) Please note that the dimensions of both pans are different. Despite this, we were willing to address the issue at the time. Regrettably, the work environment became compromised when **** began engaging in unwelcome behavior, including sexual harassment, towards ***** ******, as evidenced by text messages and inappropriate comments. Although our team members were uncomfortable, they professionalized and completed the job. On the final day of services, we reviewed all aspects of the job, and **** confirmed his satisfaction, issuing the final check. Subsequently, after the check was processed, it was canceled. We decline the request for a full refund. Regarding the repair request, our team feels unsafe to enter the resident due to the sexual harassment comments and threats of voiding payments after verbally agreeing to completed services. We have copies of signed receipts and invoices.

Also, to add to the details: On, July 30th, 2024, the job was completed, and **** agreed he was satisfied and wrote the final check, (Signed Receipt Photo Provided), On July 31st, 2024, **** canceled all checks wrote to us, Including materials. Then, **** contacted us saying that about some silicone needing repaired as the job was completed less than 24hrs and was still curing. Which at the time we didn't know the checks were canceled. We then responded 10 mins later stating we would schedule to fix the repairs. We believe the job was tampered with (Photos he provided after 5months after the job). **** then begins to send inappropriate sexual text messages to myself (*****), this made me very uncomfortable, and I feel very unsafe as the bathroom is in his primary bedroom/office in a very confined area. He is requesting full refund of labor and materials; labor was $2,750.00 & materials were $1,300.00 for a total of $4,050.00.

[If you do not say why you are rejecting the company's response, BBB must close your complaint.]

    Complaint: 22923892

I am rejecting this response because: please see attached the bank statement nd wrod document showing the money I paid cleared the bank check #'s 8281 , 8282, ********* totaling ******* I have requested copys of teh front and back of the check from PNC  ETA is 7 to 10 business days. I will upload those as soon as they arrive. There has been no sexual text messages .Although I am  gay male I dont solicit *** from those who are hired to work. Using the word daddy in a message is slang term in a culture expressing terms of edearment.  I never agreed that the job was finished I actually pointed at all the things that were incomplete inculding the gap on the noth wall because the tile was set wrong and the gaps in the drywall between the tile and the wall and had to put a rod from wall to the other to get spicket to stay on. omly part of teh subfloor was replaced and now the pan isnt level so it doesnt drain correctly. The pitucres offerred by the contractor are obviously from a dstance and average person looks this shower and cant believ it , its embarassing. Not to mention here are now scratches on the hardwood floor that suddenly appeared after the contractor finished and I had to  re do the drive way with aslphalt seal be cause it was stained with tile dust and the entire house was covered with thick tile dust from using the tile saw inside the property. (who does this) Yes i have to ask myself what contractor tracks thru your house leaving a mess everyhwere runs a tile saw inside and smokes marijuana while on the job inside your home. I realize Its my fault for not doing better research on this company and getting other quotes. I will go to no end to get my money back as long as it takes me and what ever legal recourse I need to pursue. I was solicited for the job i was promised a completed shower My checks cleared the bank. I did not get what I paid for.

    Regards,
