I paid Scotty's Home Solutions $2310 ALL IN to replace an old Air Handler Unit in my rental property at **** ******* ****** ********* ** ***** in December 2023. He was to replace the old unit with a new Goodman 10Kw electric. I live out of state, and trusted Scotty's to complete the work properly. He sent one of his "guys," ******* ***** a certified HVAC specialist to do the job. (please see the attached receipts) Tenant told me she saw the contractor "bringing in boxes," and he went upstairs in the attic for about two hours. He demonstrated the air handler was working before leaving. Ten weeks later on March 6th, the tenant called me and said she was testing the AC unit for Spring, it wouldn't turn on. The AC unit had been replaced by a different contractor previously, and was brand new. I called another contractor to check and was advised that the Air Handler in the attic was from 1997 and it's circuit board was fried (causing the new AC to fail). He sent pictures showing a dangerous rats'-nest of wires on the circuit board. I realized the new Goodman had never been installed by Scotty's "guy," *******. I called Scotty, to get a remedy or refund. Scotty said he wasn't responsible, that ******* had worked him over on other jobs months prior and he wasn't using him anymore. He said, "the economy and people have gone crazy, we have a crazy president now and people are stealing." Again he refused any kind of refund. He said his new guy (call him M) would replace the unit, but I would need to buy a new Goodman (for $2200), he would pay for the labor. I didn't feel comfortable giving Scotty any more money, though he texted me back repeatedly that evening. He then backtracked via text, saying he would only pay $500 towards M's labor and I still have to pay for the remainder. I called him again two days later requesting a refund, but he refused. I called yet another contractor to remedy the problem once and for all, and having a new Air Handler installed for $2720.

On Friday Jan 19th, I contacted Scotty to fix a leaking spigot on the outside of my home. He was prompt to send someone out. Letting me know that it would be $300 + parts. When his contractor arrived he checked out the situation. He turned off the main to the water of my house to work on the spigot. He took it apart and found a rubber seal was damaged. He ran to ****** and told me he would call me to pay for the parts. He never called but came back with the part saying he hoped I had cash for the parts. In any case, he replaced the gasket and put it back together and left. Two days later the “fix” failed and the leak was back worse than ever. I contacted Scotty and he tried to tell me that it was because of the cold and because I didn’t have an interior shut off installed. None of these were brought up during the initial repair. Scotty wanted me to pay another $200 service fee just to have someone else come out to do the work that should have been done in the first place.

I am rejecting this response because: I ended up having to pay them to come back out and fix what was still leaking. I had to pay to have a shut off installed for a spigot that still leaks. At the end of the day, I paid for a repair that failed and then they charged me again to “fix” it. I will still have to fully repair it when the weather turns. To top things off, the business owner started calling me nasty names and berating myself and my mother in law (who was a previous client of his) which is where I cut off contact. I will not tolerate a business treating their clients like this.

originally Scotty's came out 6-24-22 to repair my old unit costing $1344.00 they said it was fixed but the unit did not cool at all. They came out & told me it had frozen up & I needed a new unit. I bought a 2 1/2 ton air conditioner from Scotty's Home Solutions, LLC on 6-27-22. That is on my receipt. They installed on 7-4-22 a 2 ton a smaller, less expensive model air conditioner . They never told or asked me if this was alright. or offer to refund the difference. I called Scotty's & asked them to make this right & they refused. I found out what was installed when I called the manufacturer it was not what I paid for. I want a full refund of $3750.00 so that I may go elsewhere to purchase the proper air conditioner. Plus the repair on my old unit $1344.00 total refund of $5094.00. They have lost my trust & I feel they had bad business ethics.

Heres the 1st receipt for his repairs before his unit died. As you can see we disclosed to him he should have gotten a new unit originally because it was very old & he ran it dry of refrigerant which does damage to unit but he insisted on us servicing it then called us to replace it once it died. We didnt make the decisions for him, we merely did what he asked us to do. If he has warrantee issues with the new unit, he can take that up with the manufacturer but we did our jobs. If you have any questions from the Licensed Technician who did the work, he will Confirm what I said so feel free to call him anytime:

It explains what we did other than this guy is most likely Mentally Ill because he bothered us and bothered us no matter what anyone does, called and harassed me 20-30 times a day for months without a real reason for the constant barrage of texts and phone calls. As you can see on his receipts theres a disclosure that says No Refunds and we have not heard from this guy in months so we dont know what his problem is now but he got the service and got a new unit that worked properly when we left and was still working properly the 20 times he called us back out there the 2 weeks after the install.. He is a "Hypochondriac" and a lonely man & we cannot help him with his mental nor emotional problems.

We repaired his old unit even though we disclosed its an old unit and could go out at any time. Then his unit died shortly thereafter so he called us to come put a new unit in which we did & the unit worked fine yet he called us 10 times a day to come back out to his house to change thermostat, we changed his thermostat & told him he should get a new furnace cuz the blower which blows the cold air was not performing well but he refused to fix or replace that so we cannot come back to his house indefinitely. He was showed how to register the 10 year manufacturer parts warrantee for the a/c we put in. If there are any problems in the future, he can call hire any technician and file with the unit manufacturer on that warrantee. We are not obliged to continue to deal with this gentleman indefinitely and feel he is a lonely guy that seems to have some mental & emotional problems that we cant solve fot him and therefore do not wish do deal with him any further.

If he continues to Complain & Bad mouth my company any further, I will be forced to file in Civil Court for Libel, Slander & Defamation.

You can call me anytime at ###-###-#### if any questions

      Sincerely,

Attached is a photo of the unit that Scottys installed on June 27, 22. The receipt shows I paid for a 2.5 ton AC unit. And the company installed a 2 ton unit. The company did not tell me the unit they installed is a 2 ton unit. The manufacturer verified it's a 2 ton unit when I called them and gave them the model #. Scottys said in response to the complaint that I'm mental and would take me to court for bad mouthing  his company. I did only verify by proof that they did not install what I paid for.
That is not being mental but only showing facts. Over a month ago the installer said a new 2.5 unit would be installed in 2 weeks or less.
No unit has been installed or mentioned of since. I want a new 2.5 ton unit which is what was paid for. Not a smaller less expensive and not adequate unit that they installed. My old unit was a 2.5 ton. The 2 ton unit they installed does not keep the house cooler than 80 degrees. And I've told Scott Morgan the owner of Scottys and he being the same person i made payment to in full, but they will not bring out a 2.5 ton unit, which the receipt shows what I paid for. I need a 2.5 ton unit installed. My furnace has been tested and is working good. Nothing wrong with the furnace blower or anything else on the furnace. What is wrong is the 2 ton unit is not big enough to cool the house. It runs constantly and will not cool the house any lower than 80 degrees. A 2.5 ton unit would cool the house. My old unit was a 2.5 ton unit and had no problem cooling the house and did not run all day. I need a new 2.5 ton unit installed, which is what was paid for. Please see to it that I get what was paid for.

Again: I have already explained to you and Mr. ******* that there will be no refunds and on the receipts I have provided, the No Refund Policy is clearly Disclosed. The technician has said he will be installing a larger unit for the client by September at latest. Again, that is the only option and offer and option for him is getting a 2.5 Ton unit installed. I am gonna say it again, the client needs to stop calling and harassing us, I will let him know when the technician is coming to install the unit. ******* already knows the technician was dealing with ***** ******* ******** in August and wasnt able to do the install this month but will be replacing the 2 ton unit with a 2.5 ton unit by September and I will let the BBB know once the technician, ******* *********###-###-#### has picked up the unit and it has been installed. In meantime we ask that that agency and Mr. Knopic stop filing complaints every other day and continue to send harassing texts to myself and technician which us not going to change anything nor speed it up. September is when it will be done, no earlier and a date hasnt been set yet. We will let you know.

I read the message from the business and do not want the case dropped until after a new unit is installed and done correctly. I will wait in the meantime for it to get done supposed this September.
