We hired Acme Elevator to repair our freight elevator. They charged us for prep for inspection for the state, the safety test, and full test load. They also, charged for the state permit. When the state came in for inspection the test failed, We had paid Acme Elevator $7,886.25 on September 28, 2023. We have made numerous attempts to contact them with no response back. The State elevator inspector has also tried to contact them with no response. We would like our elevator fixed since we paid for their service.

We have communicated with **** ****** that the $7886.25 paid for on Invoice *** was the cost of repair and relocation of the Control Box for the freight elevator State ID#***** (which was the majority of the cost). State Permits which were purchased and filed and the inspection with full weight load of the freight elevator done with the State inspector present at the time done in June of 2023. The Freight elevator passed the inspection and all items they have been charged for and paid for were completed.

They have a different  Special Service elevator (ID#****) that did not pass a State inspection done in January of 2024 and they want us to service on that elevator. We have discussed this with them and tried to make clear that the payment they made in September 2023 was for the work done and completed in June of 2023.

Thank you for following up with us on your concern. We typically work with Ms. ****'s brother. Again, the invoice dated 8.16.23, was paid in full for the work completed in June and August.

Let me take a moment to review what our records reflect. This is a manned elevator used to allow an individual to work on the silos.

In June, we requested a supervisor and inspector from the state of Ohio be present during the safety inspection. The elevator on the grain bin failed.

On the invoice it reads: we "prepped" both units for the inspection by correcting the state violations which they wrote up. We did not include an estimate for future work needed, we only billed for work completed.

My work has nothing to do with the safety test.

That is separate from the actual safety test that one failed on. This one cannot be used until the state inspector comes back out for another inspection. They cannot call the inspector until further repairs are made.

The further repairs needed are the driver sheave because they have been exposed to weather which caused them to have abnormal wear. this elevator is over 70 years old, and I do not know if parts are available. The manufacturer has gone out of business. It may be they may have to get a machinist involved.

Any additional work needs to be paid in full and upfront.
