On 8/2/24 our van was towed to this business to have used transmission put into it, assured by *** he had had no problems with this method. By 8/9/24, he called us informing us it was done. After picking up, car came back with exact same problem & after paying $1200.00. I returned van to him timely,(as there was a 30 day warranty). From then on, *** had car approx. 2 months. Kept seeing car being moved in his lot (transmission only slipped in reverse), once seen hatch open in van. Went in to business at least couple xs a week, but was told, he had it done but had to test drive it. This kept going on and on. Finally he released car to us. We actually found out he had driven car to pick up parts under our insurance. This was scary. When we got car back, once again, it did same thing. Feel we paid $1200.00 for nothing. Never got to drive car again. Now at a transmission shop. They will verify if transmission has ever really been changed.

    *** *********
    Pats Automotive LLC

    Circleville OH 43113

    Dear ***:

As you know, on 8/2/24, our van was towed to you by Fletchers
Towing, as it was agreed you would replace the transmission in
my van, a 2005 Chrysler Town and Country for the agreed upon
    price of $1,200.00.
I was told the repairs were finished, and I picked up the vehicle
but, before I made it home, the transmission was continued to slip
in reverse. I tried several times over a few days and texts, I finally
reached you. You told me to return van to you once again and you
would get another used transmission and put in again. Time
loomed on for over month and a half, (I had visited shop several
xs to be told, u had to test drive it). I came in with my daughter
couple weeks later and was finally handed the keys, telling me it
    was done.
Once I got it home, transmission slipped in reverse again,
exactly same as it did 8/2/24.

After failing to reach you, I texted u to let you know problem, told
u I wouldnt bring back to you.
I decided to take the vehicle to a regular transmission shop,
Severance Transmission, in *************, ****. Upon pulling

transmission, the technician at Severance examined the vehicle,
they were able to determine that, contrary to you having told me
my van was repaired and my having paid you $1,200.00, for
installation of a used transmission x 2, the transmission currently
in the vehicle had not been removed at all and had original one in
it. This is crazy. I now have pictures of where u tried to mark it to
make me think u changed it! A joke!
? I try to support small, local businesses as much as possible,
but after having paid you for work that hadnt been done and
my inability to reach you to discuss the matter, my first
inclination was to file a legal claim with the court. However,
after giving it more thought and because of our previous
satisfactory business relationship, I want to offer a
compromise. If you will agree to refund the $1200.00, that I
paid you for the work that wasnt done, I will refrain from
    taking the matter any further.

I really hope we can resolve this matter, mainly because we have
had such a good working relationship in the past and I respect
your position as a local small business owner.
