*******, the owner of Bug Bounty Hunter, found two yellow jacket areas at my home. When it was time to sign the work agreement, I asked if his company was bonded and insured. I ask this of every company that does work on my property. I also asked if there was a circumstance in which I should contact him before the 5-day wait period for the death of the bees. At this point, ******* became angry, took the contract, stated, "I don't have time for this, " and left me, a 70-year-old woman, with a nest in my ceiling. In a follow-up conversation, ******* shared that when you hire a professional, you should just trust that they know what they are doing. I'm afraid I have to disagree. A wise consumer asks questions. Who hires a roofing company without asking questions? Did I try to converse with ******* by complimenting him on his truck? Yes, I did. It's a friendly, harmless thing to do. As a single woman, I feel it is essential to ask questions. I have never had a company be irritated by my wish to clarify something or learn more. I believe that is the right of a customer. Did I know that ******* was under a time crunch? No. How was I supposed to know? Did I know that my questions took up time that he felt he didn't have? No. Were my questions meant to insult ********* abilities? Absolutely not. Am I responsible for how ******* interpreted the fact that I asked questions? No. Did I deserve to be left wondering what I had done to deserve the treatment I got? No. ******* would not want someone to treat his mother that way. ******* certainly had the right to decline to treat my house, but there were ways that that situation could have been handled respectfully. I guess "customer satisfaction" are only words.
