  I used Al & Sons Concrete to do some concrete work to my front porch due to weather warping. I am extremely dissatisfied with the workmanship and the services performed. When I called out items that were unsatisfactory while the contractor was onsite, I was verbally attacked and told that this is all you get for the price. That was not the agreement established when securing this business for the job. I felt threatened when I asked about the concrete that had been sprayed on my front door. Al & Sons has not been back to collect their cones or repair my front door that is still is painted with concrete or to remediate the issues I called out while they were at my home. I am VERY dissatisfied with the work and feel that they took advantage of me since I am an older female. There has been no remediation to date, and I feel uncomfortable having this company back on my property. I want my money back and have the ability to use another contractor that will perform the work I asked for and it not look sloppy and half-hazard.

  Consumer stated the concrete is cracking already and 15 days ago the business requested their cones be placed out in order to be picked up. The business has not picked up the cones.

  Mrs. ****** call me about two months ago, about looking at her stoop, and I told her we didn't do small jobs like that, but she said she wanted to get her driveway done, but need the stoop look at first. She had been trying to get some one to come and look at job, but no one came. So I felt bad for her, I went to look at the job and told her to do it wright was to replace complete slab and she ask me could I make it look better, so I told her about Top and Bond that I could use, but didn't no how long it would last. So I told her I would try to get to her when we had time because we do bigger jobs. So she kept calling and asking that she hope I hadn't forget about her. So month 1/2 later I called told her I would see her later in the week. So we had finished up a job and I had two of my workers with me. So we spoke to Mrs. ****** and start cleaning of lose concrete and started putting on bonding solution and then applied Top + Bond and finished off with broom finish. I charged her $590 to the job, I spent more time and money then I entend, but I wanted her be happy, but I saw that I could not please her. She pointed out two small spots at bottom of concrete and I showed her that it would not hold. So Top + Bond do not splash like she said I got all over her door and I did call her back 5 days about my cones and she did not return my call.

   I am rejecting this response because: I am gravely disappointed at the blatant disregard for truth.  I see many inconsistencies in the response received from Al and Sons, including the suggestion that no one in Akron, OH was willing to do the work, when I received quotes from several vendors before using Al and Sons.  Al and Sons has also suggested that they do not entertain small jobs, when I was specifically told they cluster small jobs together on certain days which is when I was contacted to get on their schedule.   Lastly, I have advised Al and Sons to come and get their property (cones) from my home and have responded to them directly, but again there is mention that I stopped all communication when it is the opposite.  
  
  
  I want no more dealings with this company.  Very inconsistent communication and they did not provide the quality of work mentioned during the consultation.  I am very dissatisfied.   The cones will be available for pick up in the front of my home where they were left.   It is really sad that companies such as Al and Sons, intentionally take advantage of women; more specifically older women and feel they are left without a defence mechanism so they turn to mendacious business practices.  I WOULD NOT recommend this company to anyone in the community as a result of my negative experience.
